Well then I guess that settles it. Nvm kid had an MRI and is being held out of practice.

Won't be a bit surprised if McMurphy is sitting on more damning info and just waiting for the right time to release it.

08/05/2018 - 8:21pm I wish him well. I don't…

I wish him well. I don't know him but i believe everyone who says he's a great kid. His dad was certainly one of our all-time best. But his shortcomings on the field were not solely a product of injury. Even when healthy, his presence as a blocking TE was overstated. His contribution as a receiving TE was nearly non-existent. That's not dumping on him. That's simply a fair assessment of his on-field performance at UM.

08/05/2018 - 5:44pm Ummmm. OK

Ummmm. OK

07/28/2018 - 2:27pm ^^This^^. Divisions in…

^^This^^. Divisions in football make no sense - there are only 4 or 5 road games per season. Divisions make a lot of sense in other sports where where the cost of travel and the # of games is a greater concern.

07/28/2018 - 11:57am Your response makes no sense…

Your response makes no sense. I purposefully never mentioned Warde because this schedule was set long before he took over as AD.

I question the wisdom of grouping teams. A random sampling is far more equitable in my view. And I feel like Canham, rather than Brandon or Martin, would have stood up against this.

"Coach Muschamp." Not once, twice. Pitiful

05/24/2018 - 9:15pm Kid is Good

Kirkland had a great frosh season. Was on his way to being a great playa prior to injury. Not so sure now

05/01/2018 - 9:47pm Sorry

If Don Brown had recruited Wayne Lyons you might have a point. Too bad he was at Boston College when Lyons committed to UM.

04/30/2018 - 12:45pm Don Brown says

1. Coach Brown says there will be a spot (likely in nickel pkg) for Casey Hughes. "You don't bring a grad transfer in if you don't have a place for him."  Hughes > Watson imo

2.  Also, agree with others that Gentry > McKeon

3. This is the deepest UM team in decades. For everyone bashing Harbaugh, just know it takes time to overhaul an 85 man roster.

04/27/2018 - 5:05pm Prayers

Prayers and best wishes to Matt and family.

04/21/2018 - 5:05pm ND will be a barometer

ND will be a very good barometer. This will be their best team since 2012. 8 of 11 starters return on D, excellent K, though they lost a few weapons on offense and 2 excellent OL. Big test

04/17/2018 - 2:44pm Welcome

Welcome aboard Captain Jack! Glad to have you.  Would also be glad to get Devontae Dobbs...

04/16/2018 - 9:37pm Mean Streak

Jack Stewart has a Glasgowian mean streak. Yes please. Welcome!

04/14/2018 - 3:55pm Yup

Before people get too carried away pumping up Meyer, just remember we are 1 blown spot and 1 Metellus drop from being 2-1 the past 3 years. It's been that close.

04/11/2018 - 2:34pm Bad take

I understand the animosity others have for the One and Done mentality, but to say "Calipari does a good job of getting his athletes to play defense..." is a huge understatement.  Anyone who has coached (yes, I have) knows how difficult it is to get even one freshman to play team defense let alone 4-5.  Nobody (and I mean nobody) teaches this better than Calipari - pay attention to what NBA scouts say.  They all testify to this.

04/11/2018 - 11:32am Move it

Louisville just moved their Spring game from Saturday night to Friday night because of impending bad weather. No reason why UM can't do same.

04/10/2018 - 1:34pm Ummmm

the very fact that Shea enrolled at OleMiss is prima facie evidence that he reasonably relied on the false statements.

04/09/2018 - 6:40pm Elk Lake

I live in Louisville KY and have a 2nd house on Elk Lake. I've lived in Denver too. Colorado climate is the best but I preferred Denver 20 yrs ago to today. It's grown crazy crowded. Spending a lot of time thinking about retirement. Plan is to sell house in Louisville and move to either Atlantic coast (Charleston or Savannah) or out west somewhere while keeping place in Northern MI.

04/07/2018 - 9:37pm One thing is clear

Drevno was the OC in name only. Clearly Pep was in charge of the O.

02/27/2018 - 3:28pm Even if (when) ...

Even if (when) we lose Anderson, the grad transfer train may not have left the station. Seems as though I recall a post from umbig11 saying there may be an SEC man in motion.

02/27/2018 - 3:26pm Let's think

Great question, let's think on it for a moment. The fact that UM fans were so excited about the possibility of a grad transfer from Rice speaks volumes about our problem at LT.  Almost anyone with experience would be preferable to a kid trying to make a courageous comeback from a life threatening injury and another guy who has never taken a snap at LT.  Curious to know who you think would start in front of Anderson?

02/25/2018 - 7:53am Agree

B10 probably better at top of conference with MSU and Purdue but I think after you get past the first 5, then the SEC is slightly better. UK rounding into form much like UM.

02/23/2018 - 12:37pm Bridges

Bridges will sit 2 games.

02/16/2018 - 1:39pm Agreed

Agreed.  And on this basis alone - unless something far more damning surfaces - it makes sense for them to lock him into a longer term deal.

02/15/2018 - 12:55pm Look

Brian is a smart guy. I respect his work and appreciate this forum. But he is not all knowing. He is not the authority on all things UM.  More often than not he makes bold statements and acts like he's speaking fact when it's only his opinion. This morning he said grad transfer Calvin Anderson "is going to Texas" - like he knows...like it's a fact.  It is neither. Just one example of dozens.

02/14/2018 - 4:32pm Ummm

02/14/2018 - 6:52am One problem

Except, of course, the punishments are nowhere near the same. ND vacated wins where ineligible players participated. In addition to that, Baylor was banned from post season play and lost schollies. Hardly comparable.

02/13/2018 - 8:25pm OK

How's that cover-up strategy working out so far for Baylor?

02/13/2018 - 5:44pm Ummm

The message seems pretty clear: if an athlete cheats he/she's ineligible. If an ineligible player is used in a game where their team won, then the win is forfeited.

Bad omen for Louisville basketball as their 2013 banner hangs in the balance. They too used ineligible players. Case pending on appeal.

02/13/2018 - 5:36pm Hopeful

I hope the Leprechaun and Angry Purple Face know there is absolutely no shame in being the 7th winningest (885) college football program.

02/12/2018 - 8:44pm Yes

From Warm Cockles to God's ear. Punk the Leprechaun.

02/12/2018 - 8:41pm Ok

Can honestly say I've never heard of the guy.

02/08/2018 - 6:14pm OL

Why not grab local 3-4* OL who are gonna redshirt anyway and cease pursuit of the 5* player this staff has proven it cannot land? Iowa, Wisco and MSU have quality O lines comprised of 2-3* guys. Not that damn hard, so stop making it so difficult!!

02/07/2018 - 10:05am Brutal

not only was ND a late entry but they also lost their OL coach during the process. This is an embarassing loss imo.  Hard to overstate how Jim's staff has repeatedly missed on OL recruits past 3 years.

02/01/2018 - 2:12pm Twitter

if you look at Warriner's twitter bio, he's Blue.  Odd that there's been no talk about him.  Sam and Ira avoid the topic like the plague on wtka, so who knows?

01/24/2018 - 3:39pm Ahem

I hate to be the one to break it to you, but a Dan Dakich report is not "official" as your title states.  At this moment in time, the Univ of Louisville says they have received no notification whatsoever from NCAA.

Having said that, I hope like hell the banner does come down and the monetary penalty is stiff.  But so far nothing at all is "official."

01/23/2018 - 12:13pm Bullshit

The nd party line never changes. Player or coach chooses to go elsewhere and suddenly nd turned them away. LMFAO. ND would collectively suck Urb's root to get him to come to South Bend.

01/17/2018 - 6:47pm Prayers

Prayers to you all

01/16/2018 - 10:13pm Meh

3 of those guys wouldn't have had much an impact anyway. Maybe
Stephenson would've. The fact that Tillery Coney and Tranquill all decided to forego NFL and return to ND is much bigger news and means their defense will be very good.

01/14/2018 - 2:05pm Defense

Nolan Smith is a Duke Asst Coach and an acquaintance of mine. Coach K's teams have been slapping the floor for decades. It's done on defense, by the guards who have their back to their teammates. It's a sign to the others to "bear down and D up." May seem silly but that's all it is.

01/11/2018 - 11:20pm Roster

Rumblings that we've seen the last of McDoom, JBB, Newsome, Watson. Sounds about right.

01/11/2018 - 10:47pm Must get help

Whether it's Anderson or someone else, a grad transfer is critically important. Good chance JBB and Newsome won't see field again.

01/11/2018 - 6:13pm Uggh

F that. Vitale is an unabashed Notre Dame slappy. I believe his children went there. Honorary Captain privileges should be bestowed on Michigan Men and Women - way too many deserving people to go this route. Bo turning over in his grave on this one.

01/11/2018 - 4:17pm Spot on

wish I had a dollar for everyone who predicted Dantonio's demise without Narduzzi.  Gimme a break.  No ST coach is going to make one iota of difference.

01/10/2018 - 3:03pm Bad news

Friday > OSU

Chase > LSU

Reese > UGA

Patterson = ?

Petit-Frere = ?

01/09/2018 - 7:22pm Uggh

Losing Newsome and JBB at an already thin OT position will make me ill, especially when you consider how hard Grant has tried to get back.

01/09/2018 - 5:55pm Huh?

Huh? Attrition at RB beyond Ty graduating? That only leaves Kareem, Chris and Samuels. So you're saying Kareem is on the outs?

01/09/2018 - 5:52pm Agree

No chance of being drafted this year and if he doesn't vastly improve his pass blocking skills and cure his fumbilitis, he won't be drafted next year either. Lotsa work ahead.
