Rumor has it our Brownies REALLY like him and are prepared to make him their first pick regardless of where we end up in the draft.

That's not shocking either BTW.  The Browns falling in love with a QB nobody else has ranked highly.

Well that's nothing if not consistent with the Browns' established penchant for doing everything in their power to lose us as fans.

I hate this kind of thread.    The whole "they may have beat us, but they are bad people" meme is weak.  Yes Adolphus Washington solicits prostitutes, yes Terrell Pryor gets free cars and tattoos, yes Connor Cook is a cock and Tony Mandrich suffered from the effects of steroids, but it is really sort of Shadenfreunde.

Connor Cook may rub some people the wrong way but he was voted 4th in the captains vote and has done nothing but lead his team to wins. The biggest difference is he is "not Kirk Cousins." We don't like him because he's a cocky and good quarterback.

I think this is another non-topic clickbait by ESPN. Last year it was "Jamies' red flags and history off the field" and "Mariota's problems are that he doesn't have any character issues."

I live in Lansing and have met a couple people who have a class or two with him and while they're die-hard Spartys, they'll be the first to tell you that he's a major douchebag.

is coming out in the open because the NFL is doing their homework on a potential draftee.

I don't care either way.  It was pretty telling to me that he wasn't voted as captain by his teamates but even that can mean nothing.

I've never met the kid and he makes very rare appearances for local TV interviews, so there isn't much public interaction to go on.  It is weird though the winningest QB in your programs history isn't used more as the face of your program.  Keep in mind this is the same damn program that paraded around Jeff Smoker like the second coming of Brady Quinn as a Heisman candidate before he'd even done one thing to deserve that.

In the comments on the article, posters are giving him a pass as compared to wife beaters, etc. in the league, but the point they are missing is that a prick like him will not be a team player and will likely conflict with coaches.  He got away with it at MSU, but the NFL does its due diligence before paying millions.

If you'd pointed out the gist of the article, which is that Cook's NFL stock appears to be slipping due to personality or character issues, rather than the "teammates don't like him", I think the thread has merit. NFL stock is a bigger deal to me and I hadn't heard that.

If our QB can win as many games as Cook i could care less, out teams in the past had their share of cocky players so this is not news in CFB. Lets see a dick QB who can win or a nice QB who sucks...hmmmm.

factory for the NFL? They produce more clipbboard carriers than franchise leaders than most schools. From Hoyer to Stanton, to Cousins and now heir apparent, Connor Cook, the program is replete with guys who can make a pro roster but can't produce when called upon as more than a backup. I guess Cousins comes closest to being a quarterback who has started and won a share of games. But everytime you think he might command the position, he does someting to show he doesn't.
