Its not too early to keep an eye on Stanford who plays ND this weekend.  I could see a 12-1 Stanford with a win at ND keeping us or any Big Ten out of the playoffs.

Long way from that scenario but I'm not in the 1 loss big ten is guaranteed a spot camp.  Alot can happen.

A one loss big ten could easily stay home if you have unbeaten Clemson, Alabama, Stanford or Oklahoma and a one loss SEC like Georgia.

Kentucky may finish behind Georgia in the SEC East, they aren't actually bad at all.

To be honest, outside of ND, our schedule has been weak.

09/24/2018 - 12:15am 2nd watch and there was some…

2nd watch and there was some damn fine hitting going on by Michigan's offense.  Even impressive sometimes.

Take a look at DPJ's crack block on Higdon's TD run down the far sideline.  +3 quality.

I can't think of anyone who thinks playing in East Lansing and Columbus in the same every two years now is "nice"

I honestly think this Nebraska team  might be in Rutgers of the last few years bad territory.

09/23/2018 - 11:48pm I don't know felt like Tiger…

I don't know felt like Tiger took a few years off and chilled.  I know he had back issues and a knee problem but even when he did come back earlier his mental approach was mush and he appeared focused on extra-curricular activities.

I've loved his career, glad he made it back but he really never should have gone away.  Much of it was well within his control.

sigh, expect punting away from our return men the rest of the year.

Nebraska has a long climb ahead of them.  They will curse hiring Mike Riley for a long long time.

"giving up" is such a terrible cliche analysis  in a blowout.  Nebraska was overmatched in speed, talent and strength.  The biggest surprise to me was just how physically weak Nebraska was on the lines and particularly the edges.  We mauled them.

Nebraska scored a TD late and made a defensive stop mid 4thQ, thats not giving up.

True Fr. QB and a mediocre defense is the majority of USC's problem.

No it won't.  Ohio State is like the mafia.  Hell it took 6 years to finally get Tressell out after the first incident with Maurice Clarrett.  It was obvious then, they looked away and looked away and looked away until they couldn't anymore because someone broke the code and spoke out.

I had a serious football man crush on Sua Cravens at USC, I hope Dax Hill can be the same kind of player at Michigan.

09/18/2018 - 10:21am Winovich was the responsible…

Winovich was the responsible end for a couple of their runs that got outside.  I'm sure he got a big ding for the 4th and 1 that burned our edge.

Yes he had a solid game though.

09/18/2018 - 10:17am We've played two of the…

We've played two of the hottest games I can remember even for early September in the last 20+ years.

South Bend was stifling, tropical humidity hot, it literally rained for 10 hours straight about 40 miles north of South Bend it was so humid.

Saturday snuck up on us, I dont' think it was supposed to be high 80's like it was.

Pro Tip:

I record games and start watching about 30 minutes after kickoff, esp. BTN produced games.  By halftime I zip through at my leasure and am caught up with live action mid to late 3rd Q usually when the big games are getting good.

In game stadium experience is becoming intollerable from so many different angles.

Won't matter when they play us in their Super Bowl

09/16/2018 - 1:16am SMU ran some good stuff…

SMU ran some good stuff today, caught us leaning a few times.  Sonny is a shitty overall coach but his offenses always have some pretty good stuff in them.

Our secondary had some miscommunication issues, esp the long touchdown in the first half, just plain old blown assignment when two players took the same.  We almost blew the same formation a couple times later on.

Weakness is really interior dline which isn't getting pressure much, a place we excelled last year.

SMU had one good drive, one badly blown coverage drive and one heavily aided by officials drive.  They moved the ball a bit in between, so what, this is what modern football scores look like.

09/16/2018 - 1:09am I've kinda wondered if maybe…

I've kinda wondered if maybe that's a throw Shea isn't comfortable making  He's a pretty short guy, think that might be tough if you can't see over your tackles easily.

09/16/2018 - 1:06am No special team section so…

No special team section so holy hell what a kick by Nordin.   45 yards and over the netting behind the endzone.  That's crazy long.

09/16/2018 - 1:04am Agree with Shea running, but…

Agree with Shea running, but you also should balance the necessity of running your QB vs opponents like WMU and SMU while also saying Shea, just don't make a stupid mistake chucking the ball downfield on the run.

I'd rather have him available to run vs the Big Ten.

09/16/2018 - 1:02am We ran a bunch of modern day…

We ran a bunch of modern day read option.  All running plays are not from the 1970's if they don't work.

09/16/2018 - 12:59am Games like this are bound to…

Games like this are bound to make the coach with the heavily favored team look stupid.  Guarantee SMU did some things they didn't have on film at all, while Michigan is still trying to keep a few wrinkles under wraps and get out of dodge without a bunch of injuries while still working on base plays.

Also 8 man kamakazi fronts are murder to run against, but you have to do it.

More concerned that today revealed maybe an issue or two with the interior offensive line and maybe some blocking, or lack of, by our RB's.

09/12/2018 - 2:24pm Not sure of a crime…

Not sure of a crime committted.  But he should not be on the board of trustees and his MSU retirement pension should probably come under question.

For me, this lawsuit connects some dots, I always felt like his retirement was rushed.  It all makes some sense now.  It also makes some sense why the Prez and Hollis jumped ship so early.  MSU has actually done an incredible job with damage control and mitigating what becomes public and what doesn't.  But you have to wonder how much longer it will be before that dam bursts.

09/11/2018 - 10:43pm Beyond the MSU police who…

Beyond the MSU police who are far from neutral and East Lansing police, which only have jurisdiction if its off campus we're left with the Ingham County Sherriff's department.  All investigations and evidence would then be turned over to the prosecutor's office.  The head prosecutor of 30 plus years is now in jail for sex trafficking crimes that went back decades.  Catch the drift here.

This shit is not an accident

In hindsight the reaction and actions of the Board of Trustree's per Nasser make more sense now, yes?

09/11/2018 - 2:13pm 30 years of the Ingham…

30 years of the Ingham County prosecutors office conduct should be investigated.

That would more than likely bring the house of cards down.

09/11/2018 - 2:11pm age of consent in Michigan…

age of consent in Michigan is 16.  But there are other statutes that would affect relationships with someone under 18.

In 1992 those under 18 laws did not exist.

09/11/2018 - 2:09pm There actually isn't statute…

There actually isn't statute of limitations on rape cases in Michigan.  However there is usually very little in the way of evidence beyond he said/ she said so tremendously difficult to prosecute and convict old cases like this one.  / usually would take a confession.

Thats why its so amazing a video of this alleged incident may exist.

I get the optmism and the feel goods from some notable plays in a game like this but my inner "BAWWW" thinks Western is a pretty bad MAC team heading for a losing record of some kind.  A team last years Air Force and Cincinnati would probably handle easily.

09/08/2018 - 9:18pm Did anyone else notice the…

Did anyone else notice the difference in tempo between the 3 QB's.  Patterson seems to delay snapping the ball too long and our guys kind of hesitate off the ball.  With McCaffrey esp. his rythym  just seemed quicker and our dudes really came off the ball well.

just me?

09/08/2018 - 9:17pm better

better

09/08/2018 - 9:13pm Encouraging considering the…

Encouraging considering the missing DL guys.  We won't survive without those guys trying to play 3 down linemen with 2 ends much.  WMU's QB was complete ass on long throws, why in God's name do they ask that kid to make throws he can't make repeatedly is beyond me so I'd still like to see more from our corners, they did make some good plays today when the QB managed to get the ball near a wideout.

Gary, Winovich and Bush are just so so good with Hudson is getting close to that level.  Really a joy to watch out there.

Good times watching how Don Brown played some games with the QB's head and reads and exchanges.  Worth a second look.

The difference between top D1 talent and MAC talent was on full display, faster, bigger, stronger won out.

09/08/2018 - 9:07pm I haven't seen the replay…

I haven't seen the replay yet but I'm almost positive Thomas judged the snap perfectly.  He obviously has a special skill getting off the line on ball movement.  Amazing actually.

Good kicks today.

09/02/2018 - 5:07pm UCLA had basically the same…

UCLA had basically the same team with a top 10 NFL draft pick at QB last year and barely cobbled together 6-6.

That program is as dysfunctional as any Rich Rod program ever was.

09/02/2018 - 5:02pm I for one could tell Florida…

I for one could tell Florida was hot garbage.

I don't think its an overreaction to see in game one the main and obvious problem is not even close to being fixed (offensive line) and is probably worse.   Its not an overreaction to realize you're looking at another season of rotating unready QB's running for their lives because one of the greatest programs in college football history can't put together even a marginal, average offensive line.

09/02/2018 - 4:54pm Let me add.    I don't doubt…

Let me add.    I don't doubt Harbaugh is working as hard as he ever has, but that's a lot harder to do when you have a newborn in the house.  Picture 16 hour days plus and coming home for your 5 hours of sleep but waking up at 3am every day for the baby.  That pulls you down after awhile.  There's a reason young parents look exhausted.  Harbaugh is doing it in his 50's.

Kelly has laid some eggs with his program, including against us.

09/02/2018 - 11:14am I feel like Harbaugh has…

I feel like Harbaugh has changed since he and and wife had their last child.  Like he's to exhausted to put the energy he did the first two years into the program or something.

But it might just be Jedd Fisch was a terrific coach and added enough great play calls per game to cover up the tire fire underneath.  I'll never understand hiring Pep Hamilton, not after Cleveland.  We've looked absolute shit on offense since he joined the staff.

09/02/2018 - 11:09am Without Gary, Bush and…
