OT: Kingston Davis suspended indefinitely "pending investigation" at UAB
Yikes. This doesn't sound good.

Bullet dodged.
September 27th, 2018 at 2:38 PM ^
I don't know. Sometimes culture/peers influences these kids. Look at Malik McDowell. His mom did NOT want him to go to MSU over Michigan so badly that she walked out of his press conference, not because she's a crazy fan, but because she didn't trust the people he would be around and most importantly the leadership there. Looks like she was right.
September 27th, 2018 at 3:00 PM ^
What are you guys looking at? The article just says there is an investigation. It doesn't say what is being investigated and gives no hint what evidence there might be that Davis has done anything wrong.
September 27th, 2018 at 3:50 PM ^
Sorry you've been living in an alternate reality where suspicion didn't automatically translate to guilt.
Innocent until proven guilty is dead in the public realm currently, especially in the media's eyes. Unless it's a football player then usually it's the rivals calling for immediate culling even if said incident was spitting gum on a sidewalk and getting a littering fine.
September 27th, 2018 at 3:59 PM ^
My comment was meant to be a general statement about dodging bullets, Not a presumption of guilt.
September 27th, 2018 at 5:23 PM ^
This is fun
September 28th, 2018 at 1:11 PM ^
I'm sure he is the victim here. At least as much as Urban.
September 28th, 2018 at 2:19 AM ^
Most players are not suspended indefinitely just for shits and giggles.
September 27th, 2018 at 10:34 PM ^
No hint of evidence that he has done anything wrong? I would say, that the existence of an investigation would be a hint of evidence that he may have done something wrong. Call me crazy.
September 27th, 2018 at 11:43 PM ^
You're crazy. I only said the article "gives no hint what evidence there might be," not that there isn't any. But tell me, there was an investigation into alleged rapes at UVA, as reported in Rolling Stone and another directed against members of the Duke lacrosse team, what evidence was there in those instances?
September 29th, 2018 at 11:28 AM ^
Hence the words MAY HAVE!!! I didnt say absolutely, positively, or without a doubt. All i said is an investigation is proof that someone MAY HAVE done something wrong. Anything else i can clear up?
September 27th, 2018 at 3:29 PM ^
Well that’s a shitty place to go to immediately.
September 27th, 2018 at 5:53 PM ^
I mean, I guess if you believe that people are deigned by fate. But one never knows what happens to someone in a different environment.
And all that said, we don't know what happened here. I can make some educated guesses, though.
September 27th, 2018 at 2:32 PM ^
Based on that article, it could be literally anything, right? Not serious, moderately serious, very serious, or "New World Record for Victims" serial killer"
September 27th, 2018 at 2:43 PM ^
Are you trying to tell us that you fear you have competition in the serial killer department?
September 27th, 2018 at 2:45 PM ^
He's just trying to throw us off by using serial killer instead of mass murderer, like he doesn't know the difference.
September 27th, 2018 at 3:26 PM ^
I didn't want to step in something that wasn't my mess, but I've never been serially killed by FauxMo so I can unequivocably state that he isn't a serial killer clown.
September 27th, 2018 at 3:36 PM ^
I have personally witnessed him polish off a box of Cap'n Crunch, so I can state he IS in fact a cereal killer
September 27th, 2018 at 4:00 PM ^
You forgot to add the word "yet"...
September 27th, 2018 at 2:45 PM ^
Exactly.
I saw nothing in that news item that makes me exclaim "yikes."
Could be anything from:
- they think he may have cheated on a psych 101 test,
to
- he helped Craig James ALLEGEDLY kill five hookers.
Let the facts come out before we blowuptuate stuff.
September 27th, 2018 at 2:58 PM ^
In my defense, "yikes" isn't that extreme a response.
September 27th, 2018 at 3:13 PM ^
True. Now, if you'd said "Zoinks!," that would have been a completely different matter.
September 27th, 2018 at 3:25 PM ^
Zoinks always seemed paranoid (and hungry to me). To me, Jinkies would seem over-the-top.
September 27th, 2018 at 3:47 PM ^
Fair enough. It's not like you went with Jinkies or something!
September 27th, 2018 at 3:51 PM ^
Being that Craig James killed the initial 5 hookers before Kingston Davis was born, this would mean that Craig James killed another 5 hookers, this time with Kingston Davis. Putting Craig James total of killed hookers up to 10.*
*allegedly
September 27th, 2018 at 8:39 PM ^
WOTS is that he helped five hookers cheat on their psych 101 test.

Kid did not come across well at all on Last Chance U.
September 27th, 2018 at 2:37 PM ^
I've never watched the show, but based on the name, do many people on that show come off well?
September 27th, 2018 at 2:41 PM ^
Some do and he wasn’t one of them.
September 27th, 2018 at 2:41 PM ^
Nope.
September 27th, 2018 at 2:41 PM ^
the teacher does. patience of a saint

Dakota Allen off the top of my head.
September 27th, 2018 at 3:48 PM ^
Ronald Ollie as well.
September 27th, 2018 at 4:38 PM ^
He was a very minor role in the show, but his DL friend who also ended up at Nicholls State. I recently saw an update on Youtube and he is an assistant DL coach at Nicholls State after playing out his eligibility.
September 27th, 2018 at 2:46 PM ^
Some are worst than others. He is one of the worst.
September 27th, 2018 at 3:13 PM ^
For those of us that haven’t seen any of it, can you give some explanation why?
September 27th, 2018 at 3:18 PM ^
I wouldn't say one of the worst. But he (after editing down hours of footage, mind you) came off as lazy and entitled. He didn't want to practice, barely seemed like he wanted to play. Seemed like a dead fish, really. Similar to MadHatter's ex-wife.

After reading the article UAB plays Charlotte this weekend. Even more interesting - I had no idea Charlotte is D1, has a football team, and is in C-USA. The best part is, I clicked on the C-USA link to check it out and it took me to women’s soccer.
September 27th, 2018 at 3:07 PM ^
It's the most bizarre thing. They just started their program like 5-10ish years ago, and its shown zero signs of life. The only thing they have vaguely going for them is that Charlotte is where all the best football players in the state come from, but they are 7th in the pecking order just for colleges in NC, and that's before you start getting into the fact that the best players in state usually end up at Clemson and that South Carolina/Tennessee also recruit the state hard.
Add to that the fact that UNC Charlotte (make sure you add the UNC part if you ever run into a UNCC person, it makes them nuts) is a commuter college with a shitty campus life compared to every other NC college. I can't figure out for the life of me what they're even trying to do with that.

As a Davidson grad, I'm just here to agree with everything you said and add an emphatic eff UNCC.
5 in a row in hoops. 4-0 in my undergrad. Two amazing trips across town to watch the Cats win (a commute that most of their campus makes daily) Won our last three in Halton. GO CATS
September 27th, 2018 at 3:58 PM ^
I lived in Charlotte for a bit and I was out with a friend of mine and some UNCC people. They spent no-joke a half hour bitching to me that there was a giant conspiracy from UNC and NC State to deprive Charlotte (always Charlotte, never UNCC) of the funds they needed to reach their destiny. The fact that UNCC is a backup school for kids in other parts of the state who didn't get into State/UNC or for local kids who wanted to stay close to home but couldn't get into Davidson just never occurred to them. They truly thought it was their destiny to one day be the most prestigious and greatest school in the state, if only the bastards in Raleigh and Chapel Hill would stop stealing from them.
They were so excited for football and how it would just be a matter of time before they were number one in the state. When I told them I thought they'd have a hard time ever consistently beating Appalachian they about shit themselves. I found out later they do the same thing with their basketball program when, again, they struggle to consistently beat Davidson, let alone Duke and UNC.
September 28th, 2018 at 12:12 AM ^
I grew up in Charlotte 5 minutes from the university. They've managed to sucker a few people (including my parents) into believing that they're a respectable university now, but everyone knows that what you said is true, that they're a backup school for the kids who can't get into UNC (fuck UNC) or NC State (Go Pack!). The "Charlotte" rebrand is going over about as miserably as every other Panthers season. Nobody around me ever refers to it as anything but UNCC but call it UNCC to any online Charlotte fan and they'll get in your face about it.

It’s basketbal, not football, but Cedric “Cornbread” Maxwell says ‘Hi’.

September 27th, 2018 at 3:14 PM ^
Looks like he was 3rd on the team in carries (22 @ 4.0 ypc) and tied for 1st in rushing TD's (with just 2). I'll be honest, that's a lot larger impact than I thought he'd make after the way he left Independence CC.
September 27th, 2018 at 3:34 PM ^
On the show it seemed like he fumbled every time he touched the ball.

Kiante Enis and Kingston Davis, two of our RB commits in 2016.
