Shannon Sharpe & Rob Parker rant about M, predict 7-5 record
Not that anyone cares, but if you're looking to get fired up for the season and for the first game, look no further than the inane hot takes from Fox Sports Undisputed.
Shannon Sharpe and Rob Parker think Michigan is the most overrated program in college football. Also apparently Harbaugh will go 7-5 and be run out of town and go back to the NFL.
(Needless to say, Parker picked the Irish to win this Saturday. And Sharpe let out a "C'Mon Notre Dame!" in the middle of the debate.)
I've embedded the video clip at the bottom if you're interested in seeing the whole thing, if only for the lulz and eye rolls. If not, I transcribed some hot taeks from Rob Parker (who, btw, also thinks Tom Brady is overrated):
"Harbaugh is like a pizza delivery boy who doesn't deliver. And he makes too much dough."
"I think he'll QUIT his job and go to the NFL after it's all over! I do! I just think that that's where he'll wind up at when he realizes he can't get it done."
"Michigan is the most overrated college football program in the HISTORY of the UNITED STATES!!"
And here's a nugget from Shannon Sharpe:
"You know what, I'm gonna be NICE to ol' khaki pants. I'll say he'll go... 7-5."
Tell us how you really feel, guys. Clearly these two have an axe to grind, and it's actually kind of hilarious the lengths they'll go to shit on Michigan.

I guess we are about to find out tonight... No more guessing.
Revenge Tour 2018.

never heard of them

Why is the wine rating guy talking about college football?
September 1st, 2018 at 10:05 AM ^
Seriously. Why the hell is this post-worthy?
September 1st, 2018 at 5:32 AM ^
Rob Parker still has a job? That's more shocking than their prediction.
September 1st, 2018 at 9:48 AM ^
That was my first thought. Dude is an absolute clown.
September 1st, 2018 at 10:31 AM ^
That’s what he does. Make ridiculous takes. He hates anything Detroit and Michigan. He’s a poor man’s Stephen A. I’m surprised he keeps getting hired. He was annoying since his days on the radio here on WDFN.

My wife is friends with his ex wife's cousin. Allegedly his ex wife kept a journal about how she really felt about him. Allegedly the stuff in that journal made his feelings about Michigan look like an episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. When he found the diary, they decided to divorce. He's been a bitter little bitch ever since.

Beat ND!!!
Am I doing this right?
September 1st, 2018 at 9:01 AM ^
Or like this
September 1st, 2018 at 5:56 AM ^
That is why no one watches that show. Shannon is terrible, too.
September 1st, 2018 at 8:07 AM ^
He’s an absolute maniac. Always stupid, sometimes funny.
September 1st, 2018 at 8:48 AM ^
SS did have a good line about Isaiah Thomas one time: "He couldn't guard a piggy bank with an AK".
September 1st, 2018 at 6:22 AM ^
who are they?
September 1st, 2018 at 6:24 AM ^
As much as we piss on ESPN for their sub par mush heads, the other channels (namely Fox) employ some of the biggest idiots on television.
September 1st, 2018 at 9:01 AM ^
FS1 is still trying desperately to get people to realize theyre there. This is all right in their wheelhouse - "any attention is good attention".
September 1st, 2018 at 9:03 AM ^
Fun fact I was trying to watch espn for the northwestern Purdue game. Time Warner cable doesn’t have espn listed as a sports channel.
September 1st, 2018 at 6:25 AM ^
I just found out this is a show and now care about what they think!
September 1st, 2018 at 7:08 AM ^
Did they refer to anyone as a Cornball Brother? Asking for a friend.
September 1st, 2018 at 7:09 AM ^
I honestly had no idea someone still employed Rob Parker.
September 1st, 2018 at 7:13 AM ^
That was actually a somewhat interesting watch. It's clear that neither Rob or Shannon has looked at any evaluations of the current team's roster. All they discussed was the past three years and tired old tropes. Provided no analysis of the offensive or defensive scheme. Shannon didn't even know who Notre Dame's QB is. Skip, who is usually atrocious, at least looked at UM's roster.
September 1st, 2018 at 7:25 AM ^
Meh. Clickbait isn't just for the internets anymore.
September 1st, 2018 at 7:27 AM ^
You realize that it is their job to say outrageous things so people like you post their clips and they get to have a job for another day?
September 1st, 2018 at 7:29 AM ^
Suspended from WDIV. Fired from the Detroit News. Fired from ESPN. All for separate incidents.
I’m surprised anyone actually hired that dude.
September 1st, 2018 at 7:35 AM ^
Honest question, why would anyone pay to have Rob Parker on their show? That guy has never added value to anything. Add me to the list of people that are shocked he still has a job in sports.
September 1st, 2018 at 7:36 AM ^
Can you say, "overpaid" for their garbage? Idiots, both of them!
September 1st, 2018 at 7:38 AM ^
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how today’s news cycle works:
No research or investigation required. Just say outrageous things to get clicks and get a rise out of people, engage in some Twitter pissing contest, wait for the next story to come along, and repeat.
That’s basically how Stephen A Smith’s job description reads.
September 1st, 2018 at 9:35 AM ^
You just described the entirety of the MSM, sports and news. The internet killed journalism.
September 1st, 2018 at 7:41 AM ^
Pretty sure after last night MSU is the overrated program.
Losing to a 6-7 Mountain West team until just over 2 minutes left.
Anyway, stop watching guys opine on TV. Just infotainment.
Neither one knows the first thing about Michigan.
Neither has watched any film, and they are just speaking what was agreed upon before the show with the producers to best generate controversy for ratings, then clicks, etc
September 1st, 2018 at 7:46 AM ^
They obviously didn’t do any real research on the team before spouting off. 7-5? What 5 teams is Michigan going to lose to? Every ranked team plus one non-ranked team? Not happening.
September 1st, 2018 at 8:02 AM ^
Notre Dame
MSU
Wisconsin
Penn State
Ohio State
There is five right there, all 5 who are currently ranked above Michigan. And 3 of those games are on the road.
It is not inconceivable that Michigan finishes with 5 losses. There are other tough games on the schedule too.
That said, these guys were just looking to say something outrageous for clicks.
September 1st, 2018 at 9:52 AM ^
I remember right after the loss to South arolina, that a number of people on here thought another 5 loss season was in the cards for this season. The team could be better but a tougher schedule. To be fair that was before Shea was eligible though.

Oh, joy.....we have to hear from Rob Parker and Shannon Sharpe now.
I like that Parker has gone full in on the "He'll go back to the NFL" narrative. I mean, never mind all the evidence to the contrary, but hey, Rob Parker will continue to be his miserable self.
September 1st, 2018 at 8:15 AM ^
2 guys who aren't college football analysts and clearly have a grudge against harbaugh. This debate is invalid due to its bias nature.
September 1st, 2018 at 8:17 AM ^
Rob Parker is a joke. Talking about were the most overrated team in history saying we have only one National Championship. We have 11 how about you do some research before you act like a bigger idiot
September 1st, 2018 at 8:17 AM ^
Yeah, Harbaugh is such a loser that after he fails he's going to be a head coach in the N F F'ing L. They wish they were that big of a "loser"
September 1st, 2018 at 8:18 AM ^
Rob Parker can suck a fat cock
September 1st, 2018 at 8:31 AM ^
Agreed. Not mine though.
September 1st, 2018 at 8:35 AM ^
He has in the past and will continue to do so! GO BLUE!
September 1st, 2018 at 8:20 AM ^
It must suck to be so irrelevant that lashing out at people who are far better and famous at their jobs is all you can do to heard.
September 1st, 2018 at 8:32 AM ^
I cannot imagine two people whose opinions mean less to me.
September 1st, 2018 at 8:32 AM ^
Shannon needs to put down the blunt. We arent going 7-5. Our defense alone will win 7 games
September 1st, 2018 at 8:36 AM ^
People talk about how much Rob Parker sucks (and I agree 100%), however Shannon Sharpe is no better. Honestly, if you ever watch his show with Skip, the only thing he seems to have good knowledge in is the NFL (due to him playing in it). Outside of that, he has no analytical skills in different sports or leagues.
Michigan lost 19 starters last year, the media around predicted an 8-4, 9-3 season, and with our 3rd string QB, went 8-5.
I know these "analysts" on these shows are they're to just get on people's nerves, but it still irks me how people can act so confident about things they know nothing about. I don't watch Michigan Hockey, so I am not going to go into a Hockey thread this year, proclaim numerous predictions that are unsupported, and basically hold my dick out to the rest of the world.
September 1st, 2018 at 8:38 AM ^
I really never understood the “he is a shitty coach so he is going to back to the NFL narrative”.
September 1st, 2018 at 9:31 AM ^
Right here. Anyone paying attention to Coach knows his value of what history communicates. If he wins a National Championship and/or multiple Big Ten titles while winning against his rivals, he will walk. He won’t leave unless asked to otherwise. It is part of his glorious ego, in a good way.
September 1st, 2018 at 8:44 AM ^
Why do people listen to these turds and provide them a paycheck?
September 1st, 2018 at 8:54 AM ^
Fuck Parker... he’s a Spartan slappy
September 1st, 2018 at 9:07 AM ^
Ummmm, F-ck rob parker in the a-s......
September 1st, 2018 at 9:10 AM ^
I saw this today and I have to say, some rules transcend any specific industry, activity or idea.
There's always going to be that last sucker to buy into something that is already incredibly overbought, even when all signs point to the fact that it is quickly dropping. That person is always an idiot.
