"He was 21 at the time and on spring break in Texas"

I don't really like that quote and that gives me concerns. It seems as if the Lions are going the whole "Boys will be Boys" route, blaming him for being young and stupid.

"Young and stupid" is getting a MIP walking down state street because you puked on a cop. It is not sexually assaulting someone.

Obviously, this does not prove or disprove the allegation, but that statement could've been prepared a much better way.

Also, as someone who knows a ton of people who went to U of M while he played here, Shane was seen as quite arrogant and unlikeable to a large portion of the student body, which is a shame they thought because the vast-vast majority of them were very cool guys.

05/02/2018 - 11:32am Oh I do not dispute that at

Oh I do not dispute that at all so thanks for bringing that up. I think there can be a happy balance for which we do not dissuade boys and girls from picking up hobbies not stereotypically dominated by a particular gender, while at the same time allowing boys and girls to have environments for which they can built positive relationships with those of the same gender.

05/02/2018 - 10:56am I agree

Unfortunately, I think people have taken gender equality to mean that "men and women are exactly the same" rather than "men and women are equal in worth, and each gender's contributions should be respected". It is simple, boys and girls are different in respect to developmental stages and how their brains are wired. I think it is importants for boys at this formative age to have an environment which promotes healthy male interraction with one another.

It seriously makes no sense. Joe Bachie is likely an All-American candidate next year. I don't really see where Jon Reschke fits in the LB rotation for Dantonio.

04/17/2018 - 3:15pm I think the sky began to fell

I think the sky began to fell due to Michigan losing games for which they shouldn't have lost. For instance, MSU lost just as many starters as UM last year, and yet MSU was able to come into Michigan, and basically control the entire game. Afterwards, the USC collapse in the Outback Bowl raised even more eyebrows, for which the team went completely nuclear, with some people even scratching their head about Don Brown's decision.

It was one thing to lose to teams such as PSU, Wisc, and OSU. These were more experienced teams as well as on the road (PSU and Wisky). However, for the first time in a while, there seemed to be grand incompetence on the offensive side of the ball, which (luckily) prompted changes.

While I'm cautious, I am optimistic for 2018. If Michigan can clean up its QB play (as well as Pass protection), I can envision a double-digit win total next year as well.

As always, Go Blue!

I'm wasted from the bars, but words cannot express how proud I am of these group of guys. Sometimes, the shots don't go the way you want them too. Two days ago, I made an asshole comment about MAAR and I apologize for that. I want to thank MAAR and Duncan Robinson as seniors for giving Michigan fans some incredible experiences over these past 3-4 years. They truly have exemplified what it means to be a Michigan fan. I couldn't ask for better representatives of the University of Michigan. We lost to a better team today, but gosh darn it, I love this group more than anything.

03/04/2018 - 1:35pm He was never even 1st Team

He was never even 1st Team all conference. It isn't like he was Jimmer Ferdette, dropping 28 a game. He was a very good role player. Thats it.

03/04/2018 - 10:27am There is an underlying racism

There is an underlying racism when it comes to  media's love for the scrappy, hard working, "White players". It is less about hate for people like Craft and Allen, but rather the love and  obession with them. Brian a few years back described it perfectly>

"I'm not here to bash Aaron Craft, but let's be clear: he is a role player. He is the apotheosis of the role player, sure, but the reason people get cranky about Aaron Craft is the never-ending hagiography for a guy who is merely a pretty good player.

There is frankly a racial component to this. You don't see people falling all over themselves to hype up Briante Weber, whose VCU team is ranked and headed for about the same seed as OSU thanks in large part to Weber's third consecutive year at the top of the Kenpom steals leaderboard. Or his teammate Shannon Scott, who is also top ten in steals. It's Craft that gets glorified as the underrated gutty gritty leader in a way that is out of proportion to his talent.

That's unfair to the his teammates and Craft himself. I've long defended the guy whenever people try to trash his game (no offense to Derrick Walton, but put Craft on this Michigan team and oh my gawd), but that's because I love guys who can make an impact without using possessions. They need to be put with high-usage guys, though—you know, stars. Craft is not that. But he comes with an avalanche of hype enough to get him on the midseason Wooden list as he leads his team to a 10-8 Big Ten record while taking 15% of OSU's shots.

At its heart, Craft backlash is Forde-and-company backlash. Some of it's misdirected; a lot of it is from 14 year olds; everyone would be much better off if people in the media would just acknowledge that Craft is who he is. GIFs of aairballs are prominent because the media is insistent on pretending Aaron Craft is something other than what he is."

02/23/2018 - 12:15pm I expect the O-line to

I expect the O-line to improve significantly this year with both more experience (i.e in the interior) as well as Warriner's expertise. I have some concerns about his recruiting bliffs at OSU, but hopefully he can regain traction in the recruiting field while in Ann Arbor. Nevertheless, Warriner is an elite OL coach, good get for us.

02/15/2018 - 1:02pm Doug Nussmeier was shoved

Doug Nussmeier was shoved away from Alabama to get Lane Kiffin. Jim McElwain was promoted to a HC position at CSU, he wasn't kicked out the door by Saban.

02/15/2018 - 12:30pm Thank you.
The Peter

Thank you.

The Peter Principle applies so much in coaching. Individuals are promoted often based on their past success as a position coach and OC, but their past success may not prove to be valuable for the promotion they are seeking.

Think The Office, Michael Scott was an incredible salesman, the best one at Dunder Mifflin. He was promoted to Regional Manager not because he had good management skills, but due to past success as a salesman.

02/09/2018 - 12:02pm I understand people citing

I understand people citing inexperience as a reason for last season's dissapointments. No doubt youth at key positions plays a large role in a teams success.

With that being said, I am afraid that people citing youth as the sole reason for last season are not seeing the complete picture. It is not just that Michigan lost to more experienced and talented teams in PSU, Wisc, and OSU, Michigan lost to teams that they shouldn't have lost to.

MSU was just as inexperienced as Michigan was this year, and with lower recruiting rankings. However, they pretty much controlled the entire game from start to finish and ended up winning. South Carolina was a mediocre at best SEC team, and despite being up 19-3, Michigan blew a 16 point lead to one of the most pedestrian offenses in the country.

Furthermore, Tim Drevno simply has not done the job he was supposed to do since coming to Michigan. Tim Drevno came in with years on top of years with experience in coaching top O-Lines. The lack of protection from the O-Line this year lead to the injury of two of our QB's for the 2018 season. If Drevno is whiffing on top O-line recruits, cannot develop the players he has, and is calling vanilla offense, why is he here?

I am sorry, but this staff has not earned the trust after 2017. Almost everyone returns on offense in 2018, and if this offense does not look significantly improves, big changes will need to occur.
