Hard to believe it took that…

Hard to believe it took that long. He’s the best pass rusher I’ve ever seen in the winged helmet.

Moorehead would be a home…

Moorehead would be a home run hire as an OC. I would make him the primary play caller and would allow him to install his own offense. Gattis needs to step back and learn how to install, teach and call an offense at this level.

I agree with Swinney, OSU doesn't deserve to be in the playoff this year. They'll get smacked down by Clemson anyways so I guess it doesn't really matter.

You sound like a jilted ex-girlfriend. EJ is lapping Sam in recruiting coverage and he's bitter about it. The End.

Forget IPO's, hasn't he made…

Forget IPO's, hasn't he made 48 million dollars alone over the last 6 years here at Michigan? 48 million dollars is a ridiculous amount of money. Then you add in the millions he's made as the HC of the 49ers and Stanford and the money he made as a QB in the NFL for 15 years. He has to have made north of 80 million over the course of his life. Even with a boatload of kids, multiple houses and cars, I can't imagine that he's spent more than 20 million dollars to this point.

If I were him I would be thinking about all the things I could do with my millions that wouldn't involve managing a roster of 100 college kids and parents, 75+ support staff AND getting humiliated every year by my arch rival on national television. Then you have people on national television mocking you relentlessly for almost 6 straight years. I just don't see how it's worth if you're not winning big.

The Hayes version of Ohio…

The Hayes version of Ohio State was coming off a national championship when Bo was hired and he was able to defeat them in his first year! That OSU team was also considered the greatest team in college football history before Bo knocked them off and won an outright B1G Championship. The revisionist history that Ryan Day's version of OSU is better than a 4 time national champion Woody Hayes' version is completely false. Bo also had a much better record against MSU 6 years in.

The angst with Jim is centered around who he's losing to, not how many games he's winning. I would also push back on comparing win totals today to the 70's and 80's, because a lot of those years we would play 2 elite non conference opponents. For example, in 1988 we played Notre Dame AND number 1 ranked Miami. In 1970, we played Arizona, at Washington and Texas A&M in the nonconference and won all 3 of those games. Compare that to last year we played Middle Tennessee State, Army and Notre Dame. We ended up with 9 wins both last year and in 1988, but those seasons couldn't be more different. In 1988, we beat Michigan State and Ohio State, won the B1G championship and the Rose Bowl to cap off a 4th ranked finish in the AP Poll. Last year we beat MSU, but finished 3rd in our division, lost the final two games of the season and ended up ranked 18th in the final AP Poll.

That's why people are frustrated.

The neutral site argument is…

Your point about neutral site games is valid and has always bothered me. But at least LSU is going to compete against a big name program just like Alabama and the other schools I listed. Tenessee is playing Oklahoma in a game that they're most likely going to lose badly. If we bow out of the Washington game and replace them with Eastern Michigan, our non-conference schedule would be Arkansas State, Ball State and EMU. That would be the most boring 3 week start to a season in Michigan football history. We only play 5-6 quality opponents per season and to eliminate one of those for another creampuff would be a disappointment.

Alabama plays USC Sep 5th

Alabama plays USC Sep 5th

LSU plays Texas Sep 12th

Auburn plays UNC Sep 12th

Ole Miss plays Baylor Sep 6th

Tennessee plays Oklahoma Sep 12th

Florida plays Florida State Nov 28th

Arkansas plays Notre Dame Sep 12th.

Please stop spreading this propaganda to the fanbase. I'm starting to see these kinds of comments all over the place on Michigan fan sites and twitter and it's confusing to say the least because it has no basis in reality whatsoever.

Ok so HE personally wanted…

Ok so HE personally wanted to beat our 7-6 team more than he wanted to win a B1G championship. But it's ridiculous to assume that that they didn't put 100% of their effort into winning that championship game. This isn't like going to Purdue half asleep and getting ambushed. This is the conference championship and literally a play in game for the National Championship. MSU didn't play a weaker, less focused version of OSU than we did when we lost 42-41 the previous week. Both games were played with the same level of attention and focus because both had huge implications for their season.

No, my point is that they…

No, my point is that they played in the B1G championship game and MSU kicked their ass. People make the excuse that the only reason other schools can beat OSU and we can't is because they put more effort and preparation into beating us and often overlook the teams like Purdue, Iowa, PSU, etc.

You'll never convince me that OSU didn't want to win that B1G championship just as badly as they wanted to beat our 7-6 team, especially when they were 12-0 at the time and on the cusp of playing in the BCS National Championship.

Come on man, MSU beat them…

Come on man, MSU beat them in the big ten championship game. This narrative that we're the only school that gets OSU's best performance is fine when you're taking about Iowa and Purdue. But you'll never convince me that they overlooked or didn't give maximum effort in a conference championship game that was also a de facto playoff game for the BCS National Championship.

There’s maybe .05% of the fan base that expects us to play as well as bama or Clemson. Simply losing a couple games is not the reason for the frustration. It’s 100% based on the fact that Harbaugh hasn’t beaten osu and hasn’t gotten us to Indy.

as a fan all I want right now is to beat osu and win a big ten championship. If we beat osu but lose the championship game to wiscy, I’d be cool with that and would acknowledge that this program took a big step in the right direction. I’m NOT expecting a national championship and I presume that most fans would agree.

I agree their defense won’t…

I agree their defense won’t be dominant with turn coat Matty G but I still don’t think she’s wrong for picking OSU to beat us with the results we’ve seen under harbaugh. After last year’s finish, this program could certainly use a dose of humility. Knowing that our players and coaches read this site and what’s said about them on social media, it would probably help the program if we all just let things play out and allow the team to lay low and just grind.

Great stuff OP. I agree that…

Great stuff OP. I agree that they have to take a step back because they’re losing arguably the best coach in the history of the big ten and one of the top 5 of all time. How do you replace him and not take a step back. I guess what worries me is just the overwhelming confidence that permeates their locker room, program and university when it comes to beating us. Even when they sent 6-7 with Luke fickell they still almost beat us when our team was an 11-2 sugar bowl championship team with 15 5th year seniors. There’s something to be said for playing freely and with confidence when it comes to sports, especially in football when you have a locker room of 105 guys that all need to buy in and believe that they’re good enough to execute and win. We saw that last year in the horse shoe.

In all fairness, media…

In all fairness, the media picking us to lose to Ohio state is probably good for the overall health of our program. Unfortunately our players have been notorious for reading this site, Twitter, and the press clippings about the team and it’s in our best interest if they know that no one is going to pick them to beat osu until they actually go out there and beat them on the field. They need to stay focused and stay humble.

Ya I used to see Roy…

Ya I used to see Roy Roundtree driving around in a really expensive car and Karan higdon was driving what looked like a really nice car in the Amazon docu-series as well.

As far as the houses go,…

As far as the houses go, what’s up with like 75% of all our players parents moving to the Ann Arbor area and all of them having these nice and seemingly expensive houses. If you watched the Amazon docu-series you had to become suspicious of what’s really going on in our program and how flippantly we were putting it out there like that.

I’ve heard similar things…

I’ve heard similar things. As I posted earlier in this thread I was told by my best friend that one of our Tight Ends had a no show job at his company a couple years ago. This player is now in the nfl but it happened during the Harbaugh era and it was pretty blatant to everyone in the company what was going on. Basically this player showed up day 1 and then no one saw him again for the rest of the summer but yet he was still “employed” by the company. And the funny thing is that my friend told me that this player was getting paid more then him and he’s a college grad with a full time job at the company.

A couple years ago one of my…

A couple years ago one of my best friends told me that a prominent tight end of ours—now in the NFL—was a summer intern at his company. He said that this player showed up for the first day of work and then no one ever saw him again the rest of the summer. He also said that the interns got paid more hourly then he did and he’s a college grad and a full time employee.

I don’t mind posting the name of the player or the company if people really want to know but that’s just one story that I know of second hand.

I agree with you 100%. I…

I agree with you 100%. I assume that fans of all teams do this so it’s not just a Michigan fan thing, but we always seem to point to one or two plays in a game—especially against our rivals— as if those plays are the sole reason that we lost those games. I just don’t buy that. I always feel like the majority of the time the most talented and best coached team will overcome those one or two negative plays and find a way to win.
