Hey, someone put in a hard twenty minutes working that up!

"Get off my lawn!"

There IS a joke in there somewhere. This tweet did not find it.
December 22nd, 2020 at 12:13 PM ^
The dumb part is pretty obvious, remind me, where's the funny part again?
December 22nd, 2020 at 12:16 PM ^
I mean that's the whole point of the meme format. Spurning something that is better for something objectively worse

Reply fail

For all the boomers who don't get it:
This is a meme format taken from a Drake music video where the top row is Drake spurning something objectively better (Tim DUNCAN and David ROBINSON) and the bottom row is wanting something worse, but usually more familiar (Duncan Robinson). It's supposed to be sarcastic
December 22nd, 2020 at 12:24 PM ^
Also this meme usage is still 1000% less dumb than 2/3s of the posts on this forum
December 22nd, 2020 at 12:25 PM ^
My Gen-X self thanks you for the explanation. I didn't care enough to look it up.
December 22nd, 2020 at 2:47 PM ^
Gen Xrs are boomers that used to be like millenials, but sold out.
December 23rd, 2020 at 10:31 AM ^
Oh, snowflake. You're adorable. If there is one hope that is driving me to hold on into my advanced years, it is that I might be fortunate enough to be around to witness a generational enlightenment/existential crisis in which every single one of you has the collective epiphany that, "Holy shit. We. Are. Just. Like. Boomers." Y'all are the flip side of the same coin, one another's reflection in your narcissistic mirrors, the same generation displaced by 50 years. The wailing and gnashing of teeth will be glorious, and it is only at that point that this GenXer will willingly succumb to death with a knowing smirk on my face.

Hey njvictor....get off my lawn, yougen'!
December 22nd, 2020 at 1:13 PM ^
you can't fool me. a drake is a duck. or a hotel in chicago. whippersnapper....
December 22nd, 2020 at 1:13 PM ^
Boomers are in their 70's. Are there really that many of them on this board?
December 22nd, 2020 at 1:23 PM ^
Uh, not all of them. My wife was born in the last year of the Boomers and she is 56.
December 22nd, 2020 at 2:22 PM ^
I'm a boomer and have been on the board for a while (can't remember how long.) /s
Didn't get the meme. Now that it's been explained agree it's not very clever.
December 22nd, 2020 at 2:55 PM ^
Yeah, I got that.
But in other words, it wasn't intended to be funny at all, but simply a reference that's humor-adjacent. Like saying "ugly sweater" and thinking it's the height of comedy.
December 22nd, 2020 at 12:28 PM ^
Lol, wut?
You can't get a better pic of D-Rob II?
December 22nd, 2020 at 12:29 PM ^
I'm sorry i opened this.
December 22nd, 2020 at 12:43 PM ^
It's a millennial joke y'all, much like every other youtube comment is some variation of the conversational colon dialogue/script meme.
Now get off my lawn.
December 22nd, 2020 at 12:46 PM ^
The LOL network needs reminded that those two are Hall of Famers.
Tweet's is about as dumb or funny as:
Which is currently available @ Walmart for $9.88.

I didn't laugh out loud, but I chuckled internally. It's mildly amusing, and that puts it above 99% of what's on the internet. +1
December 22nd, 2020 at 12:53 PM ^
Much deserved respect!
December 22nd, 2020 at 3:00 PM ^
Social Media Scoreboard:
1) It's not political
2) It doesn't involve someone trying to get me to "Smash the Like Button" on their YouTube video
3) It contains Duncan Robinson
I give it 3 thumbs up.
December 22nd, 2020 at 3:07 PM ^
It's actually kind of clever. Certainly seen a lot worse.
December 22nd, 2020 at 3:31 PM ^
I get it, although the tweet seems to try a bit too hard to make the joke. That might be my complaint here.
