They are football players. they could get injured doing the most mundane of drills. Harbaugh is not going to discourage them from being supremely confident in their bodies and abilities.

Hahaha, with a nurse for a mother, and several aunts and uncles on either side of my family that also have type 1, that would have been pretty remarkable. I was diagnosed at 23, which is late for type 1 but not unheard of. That's when a couple of my uncles developed it as well. In hindsight, based on the symptoms it probably developed a few months prior to that, but not much more.
Based on this, I hope you'll forgive me for not taking your advice on the SERIOUS MASS w/ 252g of carbs. Insulin isn't cheap, even with insurance, lol.

I could probably fit in 28 waist pants, but they don't make them with a 36" inseam, so I buy 30's and wear a belt.

Haha, thank you all for your concern... it's true, I am very tall and skinny. I'm working on putting on weight (my max was ~170 before I came down with a nasty case of type 1 diabetes... haha).
That said, the worst part about being this tall and slim is trying to find 30x36 pants, so it's really not all that bad.

You're right, perhaps she "could of wrote" a note to Stan Drayton. Or maybe she talked to him directly? Or maybe she stood up for her son to Meyer himself? Obviously they've been in contact with the OSU staff... All I'm saying is there's no reason to attack her for being protective of her son. Just because it's anonymous(ish) and on the internet doesn't mean it doesn't hurt.
|10 weeks 4 days ago||You said her note was||
You said her note was "embarassing." The handful of idiots are the ones that they're dealing with at the moment, what could possibly be embarassing about a woman, who may or may not have a world-class formal education, standing up for her son?

Maybe, just maybe, you should put aside the fact that she's not as well versed in grammar as you are and take a second to consider the point of what she's saying. Good heavens people, this is a kid that's getting berated, bullied and belittled by a ton of people, his mom speaks up about it, and your response is "wow, his mom doesn't use contractions correctly." Get a grip.

By your logic no one should ever be paid for anything. Most Americans would go buy booze with it too, but they're working to make money for someone else, so they get a check.

They could also put it in the bank or invest it so they have a little something available when their injuries from providing entertainment and making millions for the university, the conference, and the NCAA catch up with them.

He was never my direct boss obviously, but no one at Steelcase that worked with him directly ever had anything negative to say about the guy. Truly a gifted leader.

If I recall correctly, some teams only give them out after a win. Lose, and no one gets them. That'd be a good compromise, imo.

I like days like today because Facebook reminds me how many of my friends are teachers!
Thankfully, working from home is an option (see how hard I'm working right now?) so I get to enjoy it through the window without having to step outside.

Haha, stop by Steelcase any time you're in GR, I'll buy you lunch! :)
These debates are great (though maaaybe not suited for MGoBlog...) because while I try to be empathetic to other perspectives, and I work with the incredible folks in our manufacturing plants all the time, it's hard to put myself in that position.

Yep, I assumed the folks that wrote the article did some research. I took a look through the filing you posted and did find a net profit of (70) in a column listed as 94, but again, I'm not an accountant and don't have a good handle on balance sheets. Apologies if that was incorrect, but I'm not trying to throw out BS numbers. Business was very bad. It's much better now.
And yes, I like the guy.

I would suggest you look into the work that Steelcase does in the Grand Rapids area.
|25 weeks 13 hours ago||Mentioned in this article||
Mentioned in this article from today: http://www.michigandaily.com/sports/getting-know-michigan-interim-athlet...
Full disclosure here, and I've mentioned it before, I work at Steelcase and my dad's worked there for 35+. There were years when I was young that business was booming so much that there was no reason to even think about going lean because we could barely keep up with demand. That changed, quickly, and some difficult decisions needed to be made. I'm not a PR person nor do I work in finance, so I'm not going to try to throw around specific numbers. All I know is that Hackett did what was necessary to keep the company alive, and now it's thriving again. I know from several times he talked to the company that he didn't take a single one of those decisions lightly. He didn't *want* to take away anyone's job.
I'm sure I come across as a bit worked up in this thread, but a) I think anyone that understands how businesses work would agree that Hackett did an incredible job and b) Steelcase as a company has been incredibly good to my family beyond just putting clothes on our back and food on our table, and Hackett and his predecessors' effort to building the culture there is a huge part of that.
