Shane Morris is Now a 5 Star (Updated)
Shane Morris is now a 5-star on Rivals. Let us rejoice and rain praise upon him. But let it be known, Mike Farrell still hates Michigan.
You can see the number of stars on his profile: http://rivals.yahoo.com/michigan/football/recruiting/player-Shane-Morri…
Other commits in the Rivals 100 should have their rankings update as well, if someone at a computer would like to list them below, I'd be happy to paste them up here.
Shane Morris: Was 22, now 17
Derrick Green-13
LaQuon Treadwell-23
Henry Poggi: Was 52, now 58
Mike McCray: Was 55, now 81
Patrick Kugler: Was 73, now 88
Kyle Bosch: Was 77, now 92
Chris Fox, Dymonte Thomas no longer in top 100.
Thanks to DCAlum and AAB for putting the updates together.

So does this mean Morris will be a 20% better player now?

Correction. He can throw it a quarter mile.

August 20th, 2012 at 11:45 AM ^
Shane will throw on a cloudly day
In the month of may
On A bale of hay
Is what I say.
What would you pay,
To watch that today?
August 20th, 2012 at 12:13 PM ^
I would pay,
On any day,
To watch that play,
Or so you say,
And if I may,
If it's not cliche,
I hope that play,
Is bombs away,
And puts the Buckeyes in disarray.
August 20th, 2012 at 2:44 PM ^
to plus that one up.
Very well done, Good Sir.

But will he throw it in a box? Will he throw it with a fox?
August 20th, 2012 at 11:46 AM ^
I'm not sure if he will throw it in a box, but he we surely throw it with a Fox (blocking for him).
August 20th, 2012 at 11:34 AM ^
My honest reaction to this.. "meh." I can throw a football blindfolded just as far as I can without being vision impaired. Nice try, Shane!

Technically, it would be 25%. BOOM MATH'D
August 20th, 2012 at 11:38 AM ^
technically there are no 1* players so BOOM TECHNICALITY'D
August 20th, 2012 at 11:43 AM ^
33% then? boom something I guess
August 20th, 2012 at 11:52 AM ^
Then techincally it would be a 33% increase. #stilldontgetit
Being second to the show is what I get for opening up tabs and not reading them immediately.
August 20th, 2012 at 2:32 PM ^
It has more to do with where he is coming from and going to.
4* to 5* = 5/4=1.25
If he were to fall back to a 4*, it would only be a 20% drop. 4/5 =.8 (1-.8=.2)
So a 5* is 25% better than a 4*, but a 4* is only 20% worse than a 5*.
If he were to jump from a 3* to a 5*, it would actually be a 60% improvement (and 40% decline if the other way around).
August 20th, 2012 at 5:33 PM ^
That's why I prefer natural logs: 22.3% either way.
August 20th, 2012 at 6:56 PM ^
That's why I prefer lincoln logs: way less math involved.
August 20th, 2012 at 12:21 PM ^
If my math is right, he will throw ten thousand touchdowns.
August 20th, 2012 at 1:50 PM ^
Does this mean he will win 5 Heismans instead of 4?
August 20th, 2012 at 11:18 AM ^
Bout damn time.
August 20th, 2012 at 11:20 AM ^
Finally didn't post out of fear of having 5 posts in a minute, well done sir
Isaac and McQuay also got a fifth star and Cam Burrows lost one

Trent Dilfer = a fucking clown
August 20th, 2012 at 11:31 AM ^
Why? Because in an event where they play shadow football where the defense knows it's pass 100% of the time, there's no pass rush, and each QB only throws 30 balls in a few days he didn't think Morris was one of the best 11 QB's?
Blame the event itself and the hype it receives, not Trent Dilfer.
August 20th, 2012 at 11:36 AM ^
WHY CAN'T YOU LET US JUST HATE TRENT DILFER?
WHY MUST YOU LET YOUR SO CALLED LOGIC GET IN THE WAY OF THIS?
WHY ARE YOU SO MEAN TO US?
August 20th, 2012 at 11:39 AM ^
probably don't even think Craig james killed 5 hookers while at smu.
August 20th, 2012 at 11:54 AM ^
All the scouts that were there put Morris in their Top 5 (nevermind their Top 11) for the event.
Dilfer leaves him off.
Sure, Dilfer had better access and whatnot, but the discrepancy is large.
Also, you are defending Dilfer (guy who snubbed Shane) on a Michigan blog and are getting upvotes for it? Never thought I would see the f*cking day.
