just what the Pistons need: a third string center. Joe Dumars was replaced by a mean ol' alien a few years back you guys.

How he got in? This is the question that comes to mind first after a Zombie walks into your room and starts yelling at you and then tries to eat your brain?

Allow alcohol sales in the stadium.
Yes, I actually think that this would help with the early attendance problem
Yes, I know this would cause a plethora of other problems
Yes, I know this will never happen because, well, I'm not that lucky
Yes, I just really want a beer right now because I'm stuck at work another 2 hours.
Yes, I know I'm probably about to get a few dozen Neg's.
No, these are NOT the Droids you are looking for

As a former teenager, I can admit that my teenage logic was quite illogical. So logically, using logic to log the logistics of teenage logic is logically illogical.
Also, am I the only one that thinks of that one Knight from Monty Python & The Holy Grail everytime I say "Logically". From the witch burning scene.

Georgia is not a threat. Auburn, on the other hand, is definately not giving me that warm fuzzy feeling.
In any case, I have one cause for celebration. The season is almost here, so I can stop hanging my hopes and dreams on potential future Wolverines, and instead hang them on current Wolverines. It's as though a great weight has been lifted... until Prime Time on September 1st anyway.

Mandatory Iowa recruiting question that coaches must ask EVERY recruit: "So, son, I see here you're listed as a S/DB/QB/DE/ETC.... Tell me, have you ever played Running Back before?"
|43 weeks 1 day ago||The playoff makes it MUCH||
The playoff makes it MUCH easier for UM to win a Nat Championship, especially if it ends up going to 8 teams. Finishing #1 or #2 out of 120+ BCS teams is not easy, especially when the top 5 teams all tend to be either undefeated, or SEC powerhouses. Fact is, unless we go undefeated, win the B1G championship, and catch a couple breaks with other powerhouse teams taking unfortunate losses here and there, odds are we will not make it in the top 2, and even have a shot at a Title. BUT, with a playoff, we have a MUCH better shot of making the the top 4 or 8 teams. That gets us in the door, and puts everything in OUR hands on the field, instead of the hands of voters.

|43 weeks 4 days ago||That's just it. Who's we?||
That's just it. Who's we? Is it the fans? Hell no. It's the AD and the school. And unless I've got a spare million bucks that I just can't think of anything else to do with, I have absolutely no influence over them. If this happens to us, it's not because we signed off on it. It's because we didn't all take a stand together and stop it from happening. I honestly pray that the Notre Dame universe explodes with even half the force this blog has, because that's the only thing that will save them. The people have to get a petition going, or just flood the office with hate mail. It will be interesting to see if they can generate that kind of organized response. I hope they do, for all our sakes.
|43 weeks 4 days ago||This scares the hell out of me.||
This scares the hell out of me. If they can touch ND's helmet, what stops them from going after UM's iconic lid. This is an all out assault on college football tradition. Last year was the year college football tradition died when they dressed Michigan up in its bumblebee uniforms. This is the year college football tradition is unceremoniously dragged from it's place of eternal rest, doused in jet fuel, and sadistically set ablaze while various fat-cat athletic apparel CEO's and school AD's with visions of profit and jersey sales in their eyes dance around the smoldering corpse in gleeful worship of the great beast they now serve. God help us all if we do not take a stand.
|43 weeks 4 days ago||I think we're more outraged||
I think we're more outraged on behalf of college football than Notre Dame. Add that to the fact that we're all scared as hell that if this can happen to a football Institution like Notre Dame, it could happen to us.

|43 weeks 5 days ago||Yes, I realize this. They||
Yes, I realize this. They have the same division record after playing the same opponents. Key point, however, is that MSU beat Michigan. Hence, MSU goes to the Championship. I have no problem with Head-Head matchup record being the tie-breaker, as long as every team plays every other team. It's only a problem in scenarios like the B1G in 2010, when you have ties, but not every team played each other head to head.
|43 weeks 5 days ago||MSU has a better in-division||
MSU has a better in-division record. MSU goes to the title game. No, I don't have a problem with that. I don't care if UM Beats Wisconsin and OSU, and MSU doesn't even play them, instead beating up on empty shells like PSU, because for the sake of the B1G title, those games are meaningless. The only games that truly matter for the sake of the Big Ten Championship are the in-division games. Sure, OSU and Wisco wins would help us nationaly as far as our ranking is concerned, and our shot at a national title, but if we can't take care of business within the division, then it doesn't matter. In your scenario, MSU and Michigan play the same teams in the division. MSU gets the job done, UM doesn't. MSU Gets to play for the title. What's not fair about that?
|43 weeks 6 days ago||What's the problem||
I don't quite understand what everybody's problem with a Championship rematch is. I want to see the best two teams play for the title. That's it. There's nothing else. You win your division, you play for the title. If it's a rematch, then so be it. MSU-Wisconsin was an amazing game last year. MSU-Wisconsin part 2 was even better. I don't want to see MSU-PSU last year just because Wisconsin already played MSU and lost. PSU was an inferior team, lost to Wisconsin as well, and most importantly, DIDN"T WIN THEIR DIVISION.
Now some people may throw Alabama-LSU in my face and argue that it's the same situation, but it's not. MSU-Wiso is ok, because they each won their division, and thus earned the right to play for the championship. They didn't earn the right based on arbitrary poles or voting. They played each team in their div. and came out on top. Alabama did not "Come out on top". They made it to the title game because of voting. They didn't get it done on the field against LSU the first time, and so didn't win their division, and didn't win their conference. They shouldn't have been eligible. Now, let's say LSU plays USC at the beginning of the year, then at the end, USC and LSU both win their conferences and end up #1 and #2. Then I have NO problem with a rematch because they both won their conferences. I'd still rather see a couple undefeateds go at it, but I can at least live with this situation.
In any case, the point I'm trying to make is this. I like the set-up the Big Ten has come up with. It ain't broke, so don't fix it. It's as simple as it gets, and the teams settle things on the field, which is all you can ever ask for. Don't try to complicate things when it isn't necessary.
|48 weeks 3 days ago||Drat.||
If this leads to a 9 game conference schedule (Add Wisco or PSU to the home slate in even years), + ND + 2 middling BCS teams (Vandy, Baylor, Arkansas, Boston College, etc), I won't be completely devestated. But we all know that won't happen that way. We'll be stuck playing Western, Eastern, and Central in the same season.
I really was looking forward to a potential USC/UM game in Ann Arbor. That would have been so cool.

It's a legit argument.
You put Jordan Kovacs in a camp, he probably gets schooled.
But I'll take Jordan Kovacs over a lot of those campers when it comes to real game situations.

|48 weeks 6 days ago||My 2 cents||
My 2 cents. I think he really does want to commit. he wants to be a part of this class, and he loves this school. However, he is also a young kid who wants to get out and see a couple places he might not otherwise have the ability to see (Who can turn down an official to USC. I could be the biggest Michigan homer on the planet, but still want to trip to SoCal and take in the sights)
I think part of him wanted to end it at the Opening, and my opinion is that he was a lot closer to pulling the trigger than we think. My question is, do any of you think all of the BS that went down with Dawson may have made LT think twice about committing? It makes sense to me. Perhaps the fact that the universe exploded when everybody found out Dawson wanted to go see Florida made LT a bit hesitant to commit, not wanting to face that situation further down the road if he decided he wanted to take some officials. Add in the fact that the UM coaches nixed Dawsons trip, and that just re-affirmed to LT that if he wants to take some visits to other places, he better do it before making a commitment
In the end, I say good for him not pulling the trigger. He wants to take some visits, and he's doing it the right way by not committing and giving himself the opportunity to look around. He'll be Blue in the end.
