you ever watch Laroque work…

you ever watch Laroque work the corners? He was a machine down there.

is there a timestamp when…

is there a timestamp when Sherrone is on?

This National Championship…

This National Championship feels like what I imagine it would feel like to win the last ever National Championship? It can't be better than this.

Shield for Johnson and Grant…

Shield for Johnson and Grant I'd say. And Minter.

This wins.

This wins.

He was assuring us earlier…

He was assuring us earlier that Harbaugh was coming back to UM and not seriously considering the NFL jobs.

Doesn't this confirm Bacon's timeline that Jim was negotiating with the intent to come back to Michigan, and only started considering NFL jobs after Michigan would not meet his contract demands?

Ace, I miss your writing…

Ace, I miss your writing voice on here. It's amazing to hear all the stories of how this football team has brought people together, brought hope to others, and allowed so many to share in a common euphoria that melds so many people together as one.

I just don't see how you…

I just don't see how you would be able to legally limit an athletes NIL compensation. That would be like trying to cap endorsement dollars a professional athlete could earn. The pay-to-play has been around forever, and will continue to be around after whatever legislation comes through, at least now programs have a choice if they'd like to legally play that game or not. Getting rid of NIL will just put the payments back in the black market.

No one is forcing…

No one is forcing hypothetical you to use up your body. The only thing unsustainable about the college model is all the money going to suits, coaches, and athletic departments forced to spend the money every year, with the athletes carrying the water.

I don't understand the sentiment of not wanting athletes to get paid, by what someone else is lawfully willing to give them. The fact the athletes have the opportunity to get paid so much goes to show the value they are bringing and not getting compensated for.

The 'pay-to-play' discussion is simply an end-around whereby an athlete can sign an NIL deal that commences once they join a team. Whether that model is sustainable should be left to the individual programs imo. I love Michigan's approach of paying for one more year of a 21 year old they've had the opportunity to develop, rather than a 18 year old 5 star who they will spend time developing and who may leave at any point.

at least use the sponsor of this site!

Just means they are more…

Just means they are more likely to stay for their senior/5th year as they see how much improvement they gain year-over-year.

May I suggest a dishevelled image of Wade Boggs to denote anyone who has started on 3rd base?

Damn it's been a while since I've been to MDen. $45 for a hat and toque seems aggressive?

Should Dennis-Sutton have…

Should Dennis-Sutton have the blue chip?

Not to be pedantic here, but…

Not to be pedantic here, but Feldman states that an unnamed coach complains to the NCAA about something "nefarious", not necessarily in-person scouting. I'll wait to see the report but hopefully the NCAA has seen this before and not acted.

Is there any factor of…

Is there any factor of opting out academically from the B1G? Can they just opt out for sports, or even just for football? Would the academic loss be worse than staying?

Our girls program up here…

Our girls program up here has paid coaches for the U13 AA and A teams. One of the best programs nationally with many of the girls going on to scholarships, and a half dozen or so representing Team Canada, so maybe I get it? Though it's the lower level teams that subsidize the elite teams, which I philosophically take issue with.

Some of the GTA boys teams start at $12k once you make the team and fees add on from there. Pretty crazy overall.

this "smart political move"…

this "smart political move" you mention makes him look weak and ineffectual. I'd maybe rethink that angle.

In the movie about this in the future, I'd love for Ono to drop casual power moves into his conversation with Petitti:

"how do our TV partners feel about coming down hard on a flagship brand responsible for the vast swaths of money that their partner schools are able to leverage an equal share of?"

"I'd hate for this to drag out in court..."

"we have our own little investigation into compromised cloud servers, which would include many felony privacy, computer, and trespassing charges--which may have been at the direction of another school."

in the comedy version Ono slowly starts a chant to himself that gets louder each time "s, e, c, S, E, C, S E C"

Nah it’s more insulting to…

Nah it’s more insulting to beat them by 49 with 2nd and 3rd teamers playing B1G games in November. Guys like Mullings, Hall, Morgan, El-Hadi, Gentry, Morgan, Rolder, Hill and many more will get invaluable experience that will compound over time until all that’s left is a full blown juggernaut.

I’ve thought of that. But I…

I’ve thought of that. But I think getting the 2nd and 3rd team reps in the 4th quarter is more insulting, while also being better for our development.

What would the consequences…

What would the consequences be  academically to leave the B1G?

Some people may want to read…

Some people may want to read the entire article, yes. Some would like the tldr, or maybe a teaser or some insight as to whether it's worth a read, or has relevant info etc...

TL;DR?

TL;DR?

I get the sentiment, however…

I get the sentiment, however I hope Harbaugh outlasts Moore's patience. I wouldn't mind seeing Sherrone spread his wings, and then maybe in 10 years after leading Vanderbilt to multiple SEC titles, comes back and takes over Michigan. Asking someone to wait that long seems unlikely.

this really protects OSU in…

this really protects OSU in an out of balance manner. Unless Michigan, once again, beats the snot out of the Buckeyes OSU will still get a seat in the CFP.

I think this is just the committee giving OSU credit for their big wins against PSU and ND. While Michigan has obviously been the most dominant team by any metric (aside: is it literally any metric? Is there even an argument from any other team by any stats at this point?)--they see that OSU has some strengths and has the two best wins of any CFB team. Also they can do this knowing that it will be solved on the field, and putting OSU 1st gives the committee the option of keeping them in the playoff and generating more $$$ by pointing at their only loss being to #1 or #2 Michigan while also possibly having a top 10 win vs ND.

Doing it with Michigan higher would lead to less credibility since the schedule would make it harder to keep them in top 4 if 5 was maybe a 1 loss TEX or SEC championship game somehow has GEO losing.

This just further…

This just further demonstrates how obtuse the rule is. I don't think it will have the effect he thinks.

-1 for Ohio State Flameout.

The articles reads like he's…

The articles reads like he's an unhinged lunatic, however instead of murdering people and wearing their skin, he does whatever he can to help Michigan football. Enthusiasm unknown to mankind.

the fact he used his own…

the fact he used his own credit card could greatly benefit Michigan. As long as there were no reimbursements.

This seems like "enthusiasm…

This seems like "enthusiasm unknown to mankind" mixed with a drunken idea of the "it might be crazy enough to work".

Great ballot.

probably should come back next year to get 1st team all PFF mid year rating tbh.

I don't see how NIL should…

I don't see how NIL should be thrown around in here as dilutive. Recruiting seems to be generally going as they have been in the past, with the bonus of athletes receiving compensation they had previously not enjoyed.

Was it "necessary" here?…

Was it "necessary" here? Seems pretty effective if everyone knows exactly what OP means. I'd argue correct grammar does not change the way this sentence is interpreted in any way whatsoever.
