Ryan Day: His new center's snapping woes at Alabama due to Jalen Milroe’s cadence
Ryan Day claims that his new center had issues at Alabama due to Jaden Milroe's "cadence".
Yeah, that's the ticket!
Okay "tough" guy. Just keep the excuses about everything coming.
Yeah, Day is a pussy.
Excuse machine, unhinged wreck of a coach.
Sad.....Not really.
Glorious, actually
Even if that was the case, why bring it up? Feel like it’s unnecessary and just burning bridges and making excuses. So much for being a tough guy huh Ryan.
Classic CYA. Not a surprise this comes out right after the tweet on most botched snaps.
Starting to realize this guy is absolutely horrible at PR. For awhile he would say and do things, and I would think, "that was dumb", but I didn't necessarily think he would keep doing it.
But now I feel like the jury has a verdict. The guy will often say and do regretful things. It is what it is.
He seems like a PR savant
So they already went back on "well, he is going to play guard not center"
Yeah, what the hell? I thought McLaughlin only made sense for them as a guard. How bad were there other centers?
At least he doesn't have to face that dominant Michigan D-Line that ripped him up during the Rose Bowl. Did you see that game? Man, Kenneth Grant and Mason Graham ate that dude's lunch. If OSU had to play Michigan this year, I wouldn't put him in the line.......what's that now? OSU plays who Nov. 30th? Oh. Oh dear.
That was my exact thought when that transfer was announced. Why would that guy voluntarily put himself in front of Grant and Graham again?
But Sharty and Pooper Cooler fans said all of Michigan's good players were 32 year Old 12th year Covid seniors - the only way UM could ever win a National Title...
Oh, and
ConNOr STalLIonS!!!
I'm all for dunking on blackbeard but the quote is pretty meh
“Seth’s snaps have been great,” he said. “I know that was a little bit of a concern. I think that had a lot to do with maybe the cadence or whatever. But so far, he’s been doing great.”
Typically when a player makes mental errors like this but still gets a starting position, it's because he looks great in practice but gets the jitters in the real game.
Especially snapping in spring practice with limited contact, probably wearing shorts most days, etc.
Well, since OSU is only going to play in domes from now on, cold and weather shouldn't affect him either. On another note, has this cat, whom "the internet" notes is from Buford, GA, USA, ever had to snap a football in cold weather?
False cadence and punishing nose tackles do it as well. Michigan was in the punishing business last year.
It looks like this was not a one off game though if an extreme example. I'm really hoping to see him start at center. Can't wait to test any theory.
I'm still amaized we won given our special team face plant. OSU is going to be blue this year when they figure it out.
Michigan was in the punishing business last year.
Business was good.
By “real game” you mean “4th and goal in OT with not on the Rose Bowl but a berth in the Natty on the line.”
Yeah, I know thats what you meant, I just like ANY excuse to relive the moment.
Look he just had to face some tough competition last year. What are the odds he has to face two guys like Mason Graham and Kenneth Grant again in a super high stakes national game? It'll be fiiiiine Ryan
Maybe OSU will go under center all year.
He is a champion of life/practice.
I would get jitters if I were staring at Mason Graham, Kris Jenkins, and Kenneth Grant, too.
I mean, it's "meh" in the sense that he didn't specifically call out Milroe by name and he qualified it with "or whatever" so that one should feel free to fill in any excuse they care to. But he's pretty clearly saying McLaughlin's horrific snaps were someone else's fault, and the finger is really only pointing at Milroe. And it's a McLaughable excuse to boot. I don't think this is being taken out of context.

Right. What else would he say? Not like he's gonna dunk on his new player.
How does cadence impact the ball rolling back to the QB?
He rolled it back with bad timing, see ...
Exactly. There was a reason the Alabama fans couldn't wait to see him head out the door.
Cadence: Grant Mason oh Mason Grant. It would make anyone nervous.
Milroe has such a resonant voice that that it sounds like he is 4'6" and not 6'4" hense all the low snaps, including the last one of their season.
It's so forceful that there's a wind shear event, blowing the ball down.
In other news, Ryan Day's perceived lack of toughness is actually because Lou Holtz is really, REALLY scary.
Where is that old fucker anyways? Word on the street is this Day guy wants a piece of him.
Milroe kept doing the "slide the ball in the grass" cadence by mistake.
Slide to the left. Slide to the right...
Cha cha real smooth by the way.
Alabama fans to McLaughlin:
Here comes Seth
He's a football man
with his pecker in his hand
and he's off to the Rose Bowl
It's Alabama Left
Alabama Right
C'Mon fucking dummy
Get your right snap right
Get off the stage,
You goddamn goof you know...
You piss me off
Fuckin Jerk
Get on my nerves...
We're eating good with rival coaches saying things they probably should have just kept to themselves today.
When he transferred to OSU, every reporter said it was a genius move by Day because he would bring him in and convert him to guard so he didn't have to actually snap the ball.
Naturally, in the most Ryan Day move ever, he kept him at center and decided to blame the QB instead
A-hut-one-and-a-hut-two.
I think "Jalen Milroe's cadence" just needs to be the new standard blanket excuse for the inability to deliver on something.
"We regret to inform you that this order cannot be fulfilled in the time allotted due to Jalen Milroe's cadence."
"At this time, we cannot process your request due to Jalen Milroe's cadence."
I like it. I think we should utilize it.
Honey, I swear this never happens. It must be because of Jalen Milroe's cadence...
I was wondering why our men’s basketball team was doing so poorly.
Juwan got fired because of Milroe's cadence

So, everything’s coming up Milroe!
can’t believe the original meme is almost 20 years old.
Mason Graham’s cadence was not the root cause, but it sure didn’t help the lad, either.
Well, fielding low snaps is tough, so this is on brand for OSU.
I'd pay lots of $ to see him screw up a snap at the worst possible time in next year's game. (Nothing personal, Seth.)
Trouble with the snap, you say?
