I'm a big softie and I generally don't celebrate people losing their jobs unless they get canned for doing something truly terrible. I feel bad for him even if he's still stupid rich, but this was emphatically the right decision. Hopefully he lands on his feet somewhere and that he stops being such a hothead.
I think it must be a law of the universe that no matter the sample, methodology, or conclusion, there will always be people who will criticize any statistical analysis because they feel the sample size is too small.
do you also think an AM Christian radio station is run by bigots?
I'm not the person you were replying to, but what point are you trying to make? Because with what I know about Christian media (and especially Christian AM radio), my answer is "probably."
I understand that you believe your morals originate from God and that makes sense in Christianity, but you don't see how that could work in a universe without a god? You should check out some ethical philosophy concepts. There's a lot of discussion of the types of ethical systems and even potential natural origins or ethics.
I'm not saying you have to believe it, but understanding where others come from might be beneficial for you.
I think some things are definitely worse than others. For example, covering for a child molester is worse than stealing a loaf of bread for your sister's starving child.
I did a quick search and found some website called classicsportsrevisited.com that has the full season on DVD, though it seems like kind of an amateur operation (but that might be your best bet). The B1G store online has a Blu Ray from as late as 2021, but it looks like just a single game.
It's probably a Michigan thing because they've always been a pain in the ass as a fan base even before the Rich Rod years. I do understand how you don't get it because people outside of Michigan and the Midwest probably don't even know they have a football program.
I'm heading to Vegas for work that afternoon and I believe I'll have to watch during my layover in Seattle and on the plane. So if anyone is in the Seattle airport Monday evening, let me know.
This sanctimonious bullshit is laughable and it's childish. Calling every potential rule violation no matter how inconsequential "cheating" is the kind of whiny nonsense I would expect to see on an all-caps rant from a blue-check with three followers on Twitter. I gotta say that I'm loving seeing these clowns froth at the mouth and spill their dumbass takes filtered through the lens of ignorance and envy.
My father in law (big time MSU fan) got me a pair of Wolverine themed Crocs (I love Crocs). My wife and I went nuts on baby clothes for out SIL's upcoming baby, so watching them open her gifts was my favorite part of this holiday.
I didn't watch Fraggle Rock growing up because we didn't have HBO, but I did get to watch a dubbed version in middle school for German class. I was impressed that my teacher was able to pick up a German-language VHS in a time where online shopping wasn't anywhere near what it is today.
1. What do you want Santa to bring the football team beyond the obvious answer of a National Championship*?
Naturally, I'm hopeful the team gets through the next two games without any injuries (I tried to come up with a way of sneaking the word "natty" in there, but it simply would have sounded too forced).
2. What do you want Santa to bring you for the holiday(s)?
Christmas is a tough time for my family, so I'm hoping for some good joy during the holidays. Mrs. Kap and my anniversary is Friday and we'll be in New York so I fully expect to find some there. Also, I want cash.
It's because of all the elves: just like the ones in Santa's workshop.
In all seriousness, I would suspect being released around Christmas is at least part of why. I have fond memories of seeing these movies with my dad in the theater when I was a teen. Another reason a lot of people watch around the holidays might be the fact that the days are cold and short and a lot of people have the time off to watch 10-12 hours of movies (theatrical vs. extended).
I hadn't heard of Goodhart's law before, so I looked it up. I'm glad I did because it's such a succinct way to describe so many phenomena you end up seeing in the corporate world. For those of you like me who were unfamiliar:
Any observed statistical regularity will tend to collapse once pressure is placed upon it for control purposes
I just got a push notification saying "the Bears might be interested in Harbaugh if they fire Eberflus" and I found that pretty wishy-washy, even for a rumor.
Tobacco use in all forms is prohibited during practice and competition by student-athletes and game personnel, and may result in ejection from the game
according to a Google search. I don't know the answers to your other questions, though.
I suppose the unfair reaction would be for the B1G to suspend OSU's head coach over a bunch of stuff the commissioner saw on Twitter, but he wouldn't do that, would he?
Just remember as the clock hits 00:00 and you begin to feel a little sad: with sporting events it's not whether you win or lose that counts, it's how drunk you get.
Once again, always grateful for posting this reminder.
On another note that does not deserve its own board post, there was a headline from ESPN that stood out on my news aggregator:
Paul Finebaum STUNNED with Jim Harbaugh's RESPONSE to bad news surrounding Michigan 🍿
Obviously I didn't click the link, but I would be embarrassed to be putting out headlines that read exactly the same as a petulant video game reviewer's latest rant on Youtube.
I'll actually be attending the game at Ford Field on Friday for my MIL's birthday. My wife converted to a Michigan fan before our wedding but I'm still working on her parents.
While having a chemistry background doesn't do much in ways of parsing the NCAA rulebook, it does offer some similarities to people studying law: long nights studying, impenetrable language, and the public perception that we're all one opportunity away from going crooked.

Your profile picture never fails to get a sensible chuckle out of me.

I have put it off long enough: this is the weekend where I trim all the damn trees on my property.
Buckeyes have created forms of cope I wouldn't have dreamed possible just six months ago.
This made me doubt myself enough to look it up, but Hoke was fired after the 2014 season.
My first impulse was not to jack off to a rocket launch, but it does have a big phallic object going up...
"Cumbus" sounds like one of the seemingly endless iterations of porn sites with some nasty gimmick from like 15-20 years ago.
They could be STEM degrees.
The green over gray Eastern ones look really good.

Thank you for defining APB for the class.
Ohhhhhhh, that makes sense. Yeah, I'm on your side.

Obviously conradb42 meant specifically in the comments of this post. I'm disappointed in your super powers of deduction today, Quailman.
I suspect mGrowOld wouldn't like banana peppers because he said fruit should be illegal on pizza and rated the other fruits on his list negatively.

Two bags of almonds and one of those tiny liquor bottles from the minibar.
Follow your blocks!
You have quite the way with words.

My first game as a student was in August 2007. This was a long time coming!

The whininess kind of undercuts the snark, too.
She'll grow into it?

Why did you mention Campy Russell? Age is not virtuous.

This should be a comment in a snowflake thread.

That was Pippin. Normally I wouldn't correct someone on something as silly as this, but 'tis the season for LotR rewatches and it's on my mind.
This is nothing.
It's been discussed on this very message board a million times.

I have a significant amount of gray 10 years younger than that.
You can prove anything without data.
Fantastic wordplay. My dad used to make a similar joke all the time.

I told my wife that it was in the top 5 days of my life and she was like "as long as our wedding is up there too, I get it." Definitely a keeper.

How do I reconcile my pride at participating in an iconic fan site with the fact that I also enjoy being a contrarian iconoclast?
