It's slang for telling someone to put their money where their mouth is.

Someone challenges you, your response is "bet" suggesting that you want them to bet you on it, since you'll beat them.

It is not about gambling on the game itself, to be clear.

That was the shadiest link I've clicked in a bit and it didn't even take to a definition. Anyways, "bet" means "ok" or "sure," often in a context where someone is doubting you and you are acknowledging their doubts dismissively.

"Michigan can't beat Ohio State without Blake Corum"

"Bet"

It's one of those slang terms that mean something different based on context, usually agreement or defiance.

Guy 1: "Dude, I'll whoop your ass right now"

Guy 2: BET. (as he balls his fist up)

1: "Man, these tacos are delicious!"

2: BET! (As he shoves a third taco down in his mouth).

1: "You can't dunk on a 12' hoop, dude"

2: Bet. (As he prepares to prove him wrong)

It's whatever you want it to mean depending on context. It's slang and slang never makes more sense as you get older haha.

If there was ever a time for Michigan football to prove to the world it is the Champions of the West --and all of college football -- it will be over the next 3 months where it demolishes every team it faces with brutality unknown to mankind.

Let me to try to help you out: TRO is sought before a specific deadline occurs, an urgent deadline. It's the "stop this bad thing from happening and couldn't be undone if you don't grant this immediately." It is literally meant to be a short-duration, immediate-need, before an event occurs. It can occur ex parte is meant to be so urgent.

Whether that event is a football game or some other event doesn't change this. There's a deadline, the literal reason of the TRO's existence is to be before that deadline.

So when all the lawyers on here are telling you how the timing of this works because this is what they do for a living and have actual experience with it - please give it a listen.
