But ultimately not up to the challenge. I'll give you a call when I have more time. |

I know who you are. Ever see any good wrestling matches in Sun Valley? |

| 6 days 11 hours ago | I take care of a bunch of trigger digits |
It's no big deal. The shot is painful because the hand is sensitive but I get about 50% resolution with injection so it's worth a try. Outpatient trigger release (I do under an IV regional although some do local) provides cure in 99% of people. Short term there will be some scar pain with grip/direct pressure. One thing I always tell people is that "people who trigger are people who trigger" meaning that you're more likely to get another trigger digit later than the gen pop. |

I wouldn't gamble on that guy. |
| 2 weeks 2 days ago | I just flew back from graduation |
(my son graduated yesterday as well--woo hoo!) Gardner is listed in the booklet as graduating in August if requirements are met (those folks were elibible to participate--Quinton Washington is in this catagory as well) |

BTW, the hydrocodone isn't 500 mg, that's the acetominophen(tylenol) component. There should be a smaller number/500 which is the amount of hydrocodone--typically 5, 7.5, or 10. |

Also good to know what happens when your kid gets sick, I mean sick enough to be admitted to the hospital. Does your pediatrician attend there or will you be meeting someone new who will be taking care of your child? Hopefully it never comes up but it is worth considering. |

this guy. Find a surgeon you can trust and do the technique he recommends. Graft placement trumps graft choice. |
| 13 weeks 3 days ago | cadaver vs autograft |
Most of the studies noting a difference find age to be the difference in graft success. More evidence is suggesting that under the age of 25-30, autografts (patellar or hamstring) are probably a better choice. At your age of 35, it becomes less clear. I usually recommend autografts in my younger patients. If I were to tear my ACL at my age of 47 I would have a cadaver graft if I got a reconstruction at all. |
| 13 weeks 3 days ago | You've got time. |
You don't need to make any decision quickly. First goal is to get the swelling resolved (time, icing) and get your motion back. In the meantime work to avoid atrophy. Then you need to examine your activity goals. If skiing is something you enjoy, you'll want/need an ACL for that. Low demand, straight line, non-cutting and pivoting or stop/start activities often can be accomplished without an intact ACL. Ultimately, if you opt for reconstruction, patellar tendon, hamstring, quadraceps autografts or allograft probably doesn't make a big difference. Your surgeon will most likely have a preference. More important is to recognize that your rehab is at least 50% of the equation in terms of a successful reconstruction. Good luck. |

Which I believe is either the title of a book or an REM song. Maybe both. |
| 38 weeks 3 days ago | I'll have to disagree |
The games are for students, particularly the players who are also students. The folks who donate money allow this to happen on a grander scale but I don't believe they are more honored guests. I still feel this way and haven't been a student for 25 years. |
| 38 weeks 4 days ago | An old alum |
Agrees with you. |
| 38 weeks 4 days ago | The game is for the students. |
The rest of us (yes, even alums) are guests. Also, they've purchased their tickets. If they want to be late, leave early then let em be. Maybe when the rest of the stadium can get its act together and maybe join in a maize out or make equivical noise we can start to complain. |
| 38 weeks 4 days ago | We had more noon starts, it seems |
Back in the 80s. It was hard to shake the hangover to get a good start before noon. Not impossible, just tougher. |

| 39 weeks 2 days ago | My wife almost pulled out of our marriage over that one. |
I was supposed to meet her for dinner and I was listening to it on the car radio. She sat in the restaurant for me just a little too long. Worth it. |

To see the dark side of fandom, take a look at BSD and vow never to be "that guy". |

The best argument that could be made about the "Michigan Man" requirement for hiring at UM is the PSU debacle. A program that gets too inbred like PSU is dangerous. Maybe not for the atrocities seen at Penn State, but at least in terms of progress and new ideas. Understanding of the traditions of Michigan is great. Being beholden to them to the point of impeding progress or preventing dissenting opinions is a problem. |

I remember looking out of our house on Washtenaw Ct and seeing all these people streaming toward S. Univ. We headed out on a cold, drizzly night. What a zoo. One guy was straddling the wire holding up the stop light. I was talking to a med school classmate the next day and he was the guy. Crazy bastard. He had beat lymphoma (or the like) so hey, what the hell. |
