This is just saying a lot of nothing. Athletes get major favoritism. Rivals used to post the GPAs and test scores of recruits. Michigan was regularly taking and signing guys with 15 ACTs. But for football they would not even sniff Michigan. Most of them are applying to LSA or Kines. There really is no reason why LSA should be drawing such a distinction when they’re already dropping their standards to admit substandard students.
So if that applies to transfer credits, why doesn’t it apply to admission standards more generally? I don’t think you have any defensible reason for your position. Athletes in the major sports (basketball, football, and hockey) absolutely get in with far lower grades and test scores and I don’t just mean marginally. I mean but for the fact that these guys play sports, their application would have been tossed in the trash. It’s not an instance where you have someone with like a 3.5 and 27 on their ACT and you’re like “hmm a little lower than we’d like but he’s well rounded with the sports and is also a 4*.” I’m talking guys like with C averages in non-advanced classes and like 15s other ACTs. I’ve asked you this before and you’ve never responded. Why isn’t this a slap in the face to the rest of the student body, who largely got in on merit? And for the record, I don’t mind or care, but your stance is just BS l, hypocritical, and sanctimonious.
Hmm, I don't think that's accurate. Quick googling tells me that Georgia declined last year to go because of scheduling issues, so I suspect they'll go. I hope some of the players who declared still get to go.
No issue with an honest discussion. My family is a minority religious group from the Middle East and left to escape persecution in the 1940s, so I can speak to some of what my parents and grandparents went through. Honest discussion - great. There's plenty of history of Arab colonialism throughout history that gets glossed over these days, especially in light of current world happenings. Ibrahim is not a real historian. He's just a bigot with an agenda trying to sell books and wade into culture wars.
I know Milroe threw his helmet, but the guy played his ass off after being doubted all year and got stuffed at the goal line to lose the game. It's understandable in the heat of the moment.
Yes, definitely worth it in terms of talent, but for his sake, I hope he drops a little into a more stable situation ala Aaron Rodgers, minus going insane.
Avon Donuts in Pontiac is great. Donut Cutter too. I don’t think I’ve been to the other place. If you’re willing to trek down Woodward to Palmer Woods, Dutch Girl Donuts is reopening under new ownership. Donut Bar in Southfield is just ok. A little decadent and too done up for donuts if you ask me. Duck Donuts in Troy is great and not a bad drive from you. Also, the kosher bakery on 13 and Southfield has good donuts. I’m blanking on the name.
Right, but that's shortsighted. Don't you think Michigan with Jim Harbaugh is more valuable than Michigan without? So if Harbaugh marched in and said "It's me or Warde," you don't think they would give Warde the boot?
Not sure what show you’re watching, but Litt was a partner in season 1. Also, as the show moves on, he becomes one of the better characters. As a lawyer, I usually hate lawyer shows and while this one has a lot of stuff in it that’s not believable, it’s actually not bad if you just remember you’re watching a show/drama and it’s not supposed to be real or anything like what practicing law in those firms is like. It’s just good, light hearted fun. The lead actor, Gabriel Mach, is great as well.
Last time I looked for men's BBall tickets (maybe 3 weeks ago) through the university and on the open market, they were still going for an arm and a leg. It's not a hot ticket in town, so I'm not going to pay 50 bucks a ticket to take my family to sit in the nose bleeds and spend $300-$500 for an afternoon. Factor in gas, lunch or dinner while you're in AA for 5, any concessions, plus the cost of tickets, and you're already there. Attending live sports or concerts is getting increasingly cost prohibitive. Hell, almost everything is. I just canceled all my cable and streaming accounts except for Amazon prime, which I'll always have because of the Prime membership we keep for shipping. I'll get something for football season, but I'm overall done. Netflix just shot up for no reason. YTTV keeps going up and getting into pissing contests with sports providers. I can catch most Wings/Pistons highlights the next morning for free. Hulu is the same. WTF is a Paramount and why does it have its own streaming platform?
I've been reading a lot more and my life is a lot more enjoyable.
It's literally not the same thing at all. Fisher took over at the end of the regular season and saw the team through the tournament. Moore coached the regular season, which if you are being honest, there's less room for error in football than basketball, so Moore keeping the team afloat through some of the toughest games was crucial. We could have fallen out of the top 4 if he didn't keep us undefeated.
You don't rotate in the defensive backfield the same way you rotate on the d-line. Those big boys get GASSED down there with as much effort as they exert. Guys come in and out back there in certain situations, but that's about 10-15 snaps a game, tops. DBs usually play every snap, or close to it. Finally, he definitely did have people nipping at him for PT. Zeke Berry was a higher ranked recruit and was coming on strong behind him, in addition to being behind Moore and Paige. This is 100% a PT situation. He did not want to be the third or fourth of fifth safety. In the end, it's a good problem to have.
Herbert was already the highest paid S&C coach in the country and received that bump just last year. At a certain point, you're going to piss off everyone else on the staff if the S&C coach is getting paid more than or equal to the coordinators.
The problem with hockey is the Kentucky issue. We get the all stars that go to the league. This model of building a roster around proverbial "5-stars" (I know hockey recruiting isn't apples to apples) is that it works in football because those guys will be in the program for years, but it can be hit or miss for hockey and basketball. They'll get over the hump eventually, but will also have a lot of disappointing seasons.
Why? He's been a QB coach for 2 seasons. Prior to that, he was on TV for a decade or more. He literally has minimal qualifications, at best. If he wasn't the last Michigan QB to the (M)NC before JJ, would any one mention him? Coaches that are not former Michigan players, exist. This blog knows that, right?
They should have deferred is what they should have done.
Both teams get a possession and opportunity to score.
If the team with the first possession scores a TD, and the team with the next possession DOES NOT score a TD, then game over.
If the team with the first possession scores a field goal and the team with the second possession scores a TD, then it's game over.
If the team with the first possession DOES NOT SCORE (turnover by INT or fumble or turnover on downs, missed FG attempt, etc.) then anything the second team scores (TD or FG) ends the game.
If both teams on their first possessions trade FGs or TDs, then the next score ends the game.

That Trey Burke shot was one of the most amazing moments to watch live. What a shot.
Check out the piece of trash he raised.
Fuck no. I don’t want that piece of shit associated with the football program.
Why are you so miserable all the time?

That guy is one of the most insufferable posters on this blog.

Thread title was not very informative.
If Harbaugh said, "It's me or Warde. He stays, I walk. Make your choice," then Warde would be jobless. This is just a stupid take.
Pretty cool. I like how the first Sparty one has the head fully inside of the lower peninsula. Howcome they didn't do that for the others?
Joel actually played and understands the game. Thamel is just a shitweasel.

Saban should run against Tuberville just for the LOLs.
I think her seat is pretty safe.
Is there a good book on the history of Ann Arbor or the University as a whole (not just sports)?

Ibrahim is a dogshit historian who can barely analyze anything at above an 8th grade level and is a bigot.

Do you think it had to do the fact that the man only took one shit a week?

Zingermans is vastly overrated and there are much better delis in metro Detroit.
Each college’s dean sets it. The regents have no say in the matter. Hell, Ono doesn’t either.

Don’t you think that if the people actually in charge who judge Warde’s performance would have fired him by now if all of this were true?
I mean if your goal is to make it to the NFL and get drafted in 2025, then yes, absolutely it’s better to play.

Awful. One of my favorite players during the RR era.
That might be an upgrade for them to be honest.

Nah this is the wrong take. People need to not watch that shit otherwise they’ll continue to put stuff on it.
Craig is talking out of his ass. Maybe the judge was or wasn’t but no one knows.
Well yes and no. The NCAA is just a collection of universities. It doesn’t exist like some monolithic thing independent of the universities.
Wouldn’t it be easier to just take it out to the curb?
Remember Sergei Fedorov got bilked for like 30MM?

It cannot be said enough, but Fuck Notre Dame.
Perfect excuse to get out said family engagements or to have the game on. I’m not really seeing the problem?

What do you mean by free through Amex and Verizon?
I've always tried to raise my kids to not idolize individuals - myself included. Principles, not people. This is just another reason why.
I like his books for the facts, but he really needs to learn to use fewer words.
Wait there’s a DM feature on here?
Nvm
