Say what you want about McAfee but I've been listening to his podcast since he was doing it out the back of a Uhaul, literally. Cool to see his success, he was one bad man as a punter. Ended his career on his own terms, always respectable. He also endorses vitamins, gives great stories from locker rooms, and does hilarious and non-conventional interviews. It's also very cool that his crew is literally his goofy friends back from high school, hooked his boys up, I love that. An acquired taste, I'm sure, but Pat is my guy.

Edit: Hilarious story, he grew up playing only soccer, didn't play HS football, was a kicker at WVU (I think he got noticed at at a Punt, Pass, Kick competition) and when the Colts were interviewing him for the draft Pat told them he knew how to punt, also. Pat had never punted a day in his life and the first day of Colts practice he had to let the cat out of the bag. Pretty crazy considering he ended up being on the NFL All-Time team.

I don't mind Pat and his "bro" vibes. I think the Aaron Rodgers segment is why a lot of hate gets directed his way.

As a Lions fan, I have a built-in hate for Rodgers, but I actually enjoyed hearing him talk about football. I don't like his non-FB takes on a sports show. Then again, people were already leaving ESPN because of their slanted non-sports takes. Those takes just happened to come from a different standpoint.

Meant to put this here:

Is it just me or is the last few minutes of that segment after the Moore interview something they could send to every Michigan recruit out there?

To have an ohio alum and former player essentially selling the Michigan program is GOLDEN.

From about the 1:49:00 point for about 5-10 minutes.

I think it's funny that everyone has their opinions about McAfee based on his media presence. I lived in Indianapolis for several years and became a huge Colts fan, so I primarily think of him as a good kicker from the Colts. The podcast thing in recent years I remember starting from nowhere and he was just zany and loud and fun, so I liked what he was doing.

I still kind of like it, but as he's gotten bigger, I can see why people would think it's too much.

I thought the exchanges between Pat and Sherrone were entertaining.  Pagano said some great things about Michigan.  I believe his nephew played for Coach Jim.  AJ Hawk bucknut admitted how great our player development was.  The best though was when Hawk asked Sherrone what things he was going to carry over in the program from the Harbaugh era and the first thing Sherrone said was the "toughness, blue-collar mentality..." and the look on Hawk's face was priceless.  He blinked, lowered his head, and then the look on his face.  I just thought it was awesome.  It just reminded me of 2021, Hassan and that O Line running it down their throat.

Chuck Pagano and the Harbaughs go back possibly before Pagano's Baltimore Ravens' days? Carlo Kemp is Pagano's nephew, and iirc Jim offered Pagano an analyst spot after his time in Indy.

Adam Shefter is a regular as well, so Michigan has always had a voice on that show...and a couple members of McAfee's staff are Michigan/Detroit fans.

I have no problem with McAfee or anyone outside the program doubting the team over the last whatever years...Michigan answered with three straight Big Ten championships and the 2023 National Championship. All rational doubters have been silenced.

Jim Harbaugh will be on tomorrow...

After Sherrone, it's almost better to hear Pat talk about how he was blown away with how his preconceived notions were so wrong.  Michigan is an impressive place, plenty of smart and cool people.  Preach!

Not only a great interview, but post interview, McAfee AND AJ Hawk had great things to say about Moore. Which is surprising, I think thats the most I have heard Hawk say on the show ever.

Good to see Sherrone getting some help amongst the media. Now if he could get some help from his AD. Time will tell
