In 25-30 years, Which 2023 Player Would You Want as Head Coach?
It was almost 30 years between Harbaugh's graduation and his return to Michigan. Which player from the 2023-2024 season would you enjoy seeing coach the team?
This is of course assuming that a 67-year-old Sherrone Moore isn't coaching for his record 10th National Championship as a head coach.

Sainristil.
January 12th, 2024 at 7:18 PM ^
Perhaps he could take the fall and early winter off from his presidential duties?
January 12th, 2024 at 7:19 PM ^
President of the United States? Or president of the University of Michigan?
Both, obviously. Imagine getting into it with the refs when you have a secret service detail. We might even get a few holding calls.
January 12th, 2024 at 7:25 PM ^
It will have to be President of the University of Michigan. He is not a natural born citizen of the United States.
January 12th, 2024 at 7:32 PM ^
If anyone can launch a movement to change the Constitution to allow it, it's probably Sainristil.
January 13th, 2024 at 2:06 AM ^
I heard Barack Obama and Nikki Haley weren't either.
January 12th, 2024 at 7:24 PM ^
Michael Barrett... man already has done everything on the team.
January 12th, 2024 at 7:38 PM ^
Literally the first name to pop into my head.
January 12th, 2024 at 7:40 PM ^
It's his last name though. . .
January 12th, 2024 at 8:03 PM ^
...touché.

End thread
January 12th, 2024 at 8:59 PM ^
100% Mikey. Dude carries himself like a coach already.
January 13th, 2024 at 7:50 AM ^
This was my initial thought, JJ or Blake Corum would also be excellent choices
January 12th, 2024 at 7:16 PM ^
Michael Barrett.
January 12th, 2024 at 7:17 PM ^
I'd want Barrett to be the head coach, athletic director and president of the University, all at the same time.
January 12th, 2024 at 7:23 PM ^
And flag coach for the marching band
January 12th, 2024 at 7:50 PM ^
And dictator for life of the planet Earth. But mostly Michigan football coach.
January 13th, 2024 at 1:05 AM ^
This is the obvious answer. There's nothing that Michael Barrett cannot do.
As for his staff:
Mike Sainristil — Defensive coordinator/DB coach (obvious reasons)
Cornelius Johnson — Offensive coordinator/WR coach (smart dude from a smart family)
Karsen Barnhart — OL coach (knows every position)
Max Bredeson — TE coach (the blocking!)
Kris Jenkins — DL coach (perfect personality for teaching and recruiting)
Semaj Morgan — Special teams coach (I couldn't really think of a perfect fit here)
J.J. McCarthy — QB coach (duh)
Kalel Mullings — RB coach (Corum and Edwards rely on instincts a lot that are probably hard to teach, so I'm guessing Mullings' path would translate better to coaching)
Michael Barrett — LB coach (he's already the head coach, but he's Michael Barrett)
Ben Herbert's son — strength & conditioning
I would consider making Zinter the OL and OC just for those sweet 9 OL formations.

I tried starting a list but too many came to mind! Corum would easily be a great motivator, as would Mikey. How about JJ’s calm leadership? Can you imagine the pregame speech from Keegan / Zinter?? I get chills already!

Head Coach: Corum
OC: JJ
DC: Sainristil
January 12th, 2024 at 7:22 PM ^
Bring ‘em all back…
January 12th, 2024 at 7:22 PM ^
Michael Barrett. He’s already gonna be president of the USA, UN, NATO so why not add head coach?
January 12th, 2024 at 7:24 PM ^
Corum is the only correct response
January 12th, 2024 at 8:29 PM ^
He's going to be too busy saving the world (through the business him and Conor started together)
January 13th, 2024 at 10:48 AM ^
Vacuuming up corruption in every corner of the world.
January 12th, 2024 at 7:25 PM ^
Semaj
January 13th, 2024 at 2:44 AM ^
It's decided then. The mgoboard, with all the powers that are vested in it, will name someone else as Michigan head ball coach.
January 12th, 2024 at 7:26 PM ^
Blake the great.
January 12th, 2024 at 7:28 PM ^
Kris Jenkins

JJ, Mikey, Barrett, Blake are all good picks.
January 12th, 2024 at 7:32 PM ^
He should have been on the roster, so I’m going with it: JD Johnson.

Dark horse candidate - Trevor Keegan
January 12th, 2024 at 7:41 PM ^
Player on the 2023 team? Likely Sainristil.
Just on the team? Easy answer…

Agreed, although in the new Big Ten, road trips would get tough if they have to go by RV.
