I honestly can't believe people are trying to put the late game collapse on Klinsmann. This isn't American football where a coach calls plays. He's confined to his technical area, and I can guarantee that if he were screaming instructions at the top of his lungs in the waning moments of that game, a person standing 10 feet away couldn't have heard him in that stadium. For all you know, he could have been yelling at Bradley to launch the ball into the corner.

Surprised to see no one has said The Claddagh in Livonia yet. There were easily over 300 for USA-Algeria in 2010 and for Monday's game as well, it was great a great atmosphere. They've got plenty of TVs and a big projection screen if you're lucky enough to get a centrally located seat.

Kinda bummed to see this thread has less comments than the offense and coaching threads. People would rather discuss the negative things that happened today than the positive things. The defense has put us in a position to win for the last two weeks and deserves a ton of credit, especially with all the youth we're running out there. They got the ball back with enough time for the offense to put together the game tying drive and delivered the knockout punch in OT. Game ball goes to the D.

My answer to anyone whenever this subject comes up in conversation: I'm glad it happened for the simple fact that the Big Ten got a "re-do" on divisional alignment. Michigan and OSU absolutely HAD to be in the same division. Think about this scenario for a second: say we won last Saturday against MSU, won our next 3, and lost the OSU game, and MSU won out (not an unlikely scenario at all if Saturday had gone differently). MSU would be headed to the Big Ten Championship Game while we sat home due to the fact that they don't play OSU or PSU this year.
There will always be inequities with a divisional setup, but Michigan's protected crossover with OSU would have placed them at a perpetual disadvantage to Sparty, whose protected crossover is with almighty Indiana. The reboot that the Maryland and Rutgers additions have provided will create a clearer path for Michigan to get to the Big 10 title game (many years the winner of the M-OSU game will go) while simultaneously plummeting MSU into irrelevancy (does anyone really believe they'll ever win a division with M, OSU, and PSU standing in the way?). Therefore, I like the Maryland and Rutgers additions.

One subtle but likely effective change would be to bring in the field 2.5 yards on each side, thereby reducing the total width of the field by 5 yards. This keeps all of the on-field goings-on in tact and isn't as obvious to the casual observer, but would decrease the amount of space an offense has to exploit/defense has to cover.

The artist did the pair for $100 total, which is pretty good considering Mario is a bit bigger and needed 7-8 colors.

Hmm... I'm guessing you are a member of the societal majority who truly believe that there is a direct correlation between tattoos and IQ. Lets please do all that we can to avoid perpetuating the "all Michigan fans belong to a country club and drape cardigan sweaters around their shoulders" stereotype, k?

Nahh, I'll probably work it into my sleeve somehow. We won't lose, but if we do, I'll take it like a man.

Can't handle the thought of rooting for either team. Since it's in Ohio, we can always just hope God will jiggle the flusher:

Your post wasn't removed. You probably have your thread filter set to hide all posts that don't have at least a +1 score. You can change it up at the top under the original post.

Kudos to Rich for agreeing to do this interview. I would venture to guess that many (if not most) coaches in a similar situation would refuse to do the interview, or would simply decline the assignment altogether knowing that the interview would be part of it.
|3 years 25 weeks ago||This post is ridiculous||
This post is ridiculous. Hoke got the job 2 weeks ago and National Signing Day is Wednesday. A few weeks ago, we were all making lists of Hoke's top priorities for his first several weeks on the job. Most lists went something like this:
1. Lock up Denard
2. Lock up the rest of the squad
3. Recruit like mad
3. Hire a DC
4. Hire an OC
5. Recruit like mad
6. Get the team going on winter workouts
7. Start working on a way to effectively utilize Denard
8. Recruit like mad
Then add to the list all the things that apply to Hoke's personal life... like, yanno, moving your family across the country and changing jobs. Did anyone list "get outgoing Seniors ready for the draft?" No. Is it important? Yes. But National Signing day is Wednesday, and we just finished hiring position coaches. I would venture to guess that Hoke hasn't had more than 4 hours of sleep since accepting the job. Go to sleep.
