Everything to lose and nothing to gain is Dave Brandon's wheelhouse.

I forgot about the game altogether until I saw this thread. |
| 32 weeks 5 hours ago | This idea will seem downright bland, although familiar, |
after you see what they are doing in Moscow for the 2018 World Cup. If one particular stadium actually gets built as planned, it would set a good precedent for this Silverdome concept. |

Michigan Stadium goes 4 weeks in 2012, then 3 weeks in 2013 without a game in late September/early October. Whats up with that, are they clearing out the great weather weekends for weddings? |

The winning strategy appeared to be all the fat guys lay down on the field when you get tired. This worked out pretty well for LSU in the first half, since there is apparently no rule against that kind of delay tactic in college football. |

I have one suggestion. A section for reader input, whether wiki-style or stream of mgoconsciousness for each play would allow the community to chime in with thier own insights, etc in a way that has not been possible outside of real time live blogs. I'm imagining two scenarios. One, Brian UFR's a play and says, "I think ...(something)... but the coaches may say something different in the comments" Let the coachy types comment right there, specific to that moment, and make us all smarter. Two, a certain moment in the game induces a seismic shift in someone's personal philosophy, or maintains their status quo, which was previously in considerable peril. Like when Greg Mathews caught that TD on the wheel route against State in '07, or Braylonfest; or conversely when Appy State and then Dennis Dixon tore away the curtain earlier in '07; some enlightened mgouser probably remembers, "It was at this point that I realized ..." Let us all witness the moment and perhaps be enlightened ourselves. Just a thought. And speaking of considerable peril: |

The surprising thing would be if the 2nd and 4th quarters were not a teams two worst defensive quarters, wrt to scoring defense.
On M's 2nd quarter flops, I think opponents spent the first quarter deploying their general gameplan and found the one or two easiest ways to eat up massive yardage. Then, they spent the 2nd quarter just eating up the yardage while we were powerless to stop them. RR/Gerg made some half time adjustments, and it was still bad but not as bad. |

Then Kenny Demens, then Carvin Johnson/Marvin Robinson. |
