Michigan back in it for Stefon Diggs
This morning on "recruiting roundup" Sam Webb said that according to his coach, Stefon Diggs has Michigan in his top 5. For the longest time, Stefon said that he liked Michigan, but that "Michigan doesn't like me like that". Well, it looks like Michigan must be confident that his grades are going to be good enough to qualify, because now they "like him like that". Stefon is incredibly talented, and it would be an amazing get, if we were able to land him in this class. Now having said that, all of this is just talk until he visits campus, but to be in the top 5 of a kid like this this late, is a very good thing. It seems like (from the interviews I've read) he's always wanted to make Michigan one of his official visits, they just both needed to get on the same page with Stefon Diggs's academic side of the ball. Dare I say "Buckle Up"?

I'm glad Diggs got his cooties vaccine at last.

Does this impact Wes Brown at all?

I think Michigan has moved on to other options.

Has Brown officially visited yet? Optimally they could take the trip out together.

EDIT: Already posted. FAIL.
Any of you twitter people should check the twitter convo between Blake and Diggs. They are talking about getting an appt together, and Steph wearing the #1 and Blake wearing the #2 jersey.... its good stuff.

so early, and now starting, has got to be giving him a lot of positive vibes. Good timing for all the positive mojo Blake is giving to Stefon right now. (And maybe Wes Brown too)

Jordan Payton, or Dunn. I would be ok with that =) Hey, a person can dream =)

Switch Garnett for Payton and you have my dream team. As sam Webb said on Tuesday. We don't NEED 6 lineman. However IMO we NEED 2 WR

shiiiiitttt. I want Diggs bad.

Well said.

Same list with Dunn replacing Payton. That said, anything close to this list and I'll be squealing like a school girl (which wouldn't be a pretty sight).

that this would get us at least a top 3 class... possibly #1.

I love wish lists too. Here's mine according to what I think we need (in order of preference) and assuming we have a class of 28 this year:
(1) OL: 1 Garnett 2 Banner 3 Diamond 4 Kozan
(1) DB: 1 Wright 2 Thompson
(1) RB: 1 Dunn 2 Brown
(2) WR: 1 Diggs 2 Payton 3 Powe 4 Darboh 5 Chesson
The only thing that sucks about the wishlist is that we can't have them all.

What's your WR wish list look like?( Regardless of possible grade issues)

1. Dorial Green Beckham

While being ranked in the top 5 in recruiting may be nice, I would rather be in BCS Bowl games like the good ol' days.

Let's be fair.... a lot of teams are still on the elite guys. HOWEVER, yeahhhh screw it. You're right. Optimistic future has already been established. No reason not to assume we're going to destroy some fools in the forthcoming years.

First, we have 4 games left. Second, if we only win one of our last two, we finish 10-2 going into the bowl.

Even if its a long shot, just getting guys on campus gives UM a fighting chance.
And enough with the Craig James BSSSS! He did not kill any one and Calls a very good college football game!!!
November 3rd, 2011 at 3:34 PM ^
/s im hoping?
November 3rd, 2011 at 4:00 PM ^
With a statement like "Craig James calls a good football game" adding a "/s" is just overkill.

"Dorothy Mantooth is a saint!!!"
November 3rd, 2011 at 6:00 PM ^
What in the hell does "BSSSS" stand for?
November 3rd, 2011 at 10:00 PM ^
Either he stutters or he's imitating my father doing house repairs.

ooops

If I recall correctly, Stefon Diggs allegedly has character issues.A while back he was trash talking Dorial Green Beckham on his twitter account and calling some high school teams "phony" because they had a lot of white players.
November 3rd, 2011 at 6:11 PM ^
Did you dislike having Mike Hart on the team? Go ahead and talk all you want, just stay out of real trouble.
November 3rd, 2011 at 10:00 PM ^
Ive always thought Diggs is a key recruit for us. Reason being that he appears to be a true game breaker at wideout. Payton is is supposed to be good but he doesn't have the break away speed or the ankle breaking juke to him. Diggs has that and we could certainly use that type of skill set on our roster given that Denard only has only one year left of eligibility. We need offensive weapons and as far as I can see there are very few on the current roster (or signed for next year for that matter).

Part of me wishes this thread had never appeared now because I just looked at the highlight videos and interviews with Diggs and he seems like an absolute stud and a great guy. He's quick as hell. Now that I know what I'd be missing I'm gonna be real upset to see him go anywhere else. Hopefully he misses the days of those sleepovers as much as Blake.

This thread caused me to search on the site for Sammy Watkins. It was a little less than a year ago that TomVH let us know he heard we were in the driver's seat for Watkins. Would have loved to see him on the field with Denard and company.
