Don't we technically have a 2015 commit in Brady Pallante? I don't see how we will have an available scholarship this year the way the class is filling up. |

Would love to see it, but I'm not sure Robinson can have that many visitors in a week, yet alone a day. |
| 8 weeks 5 days ago | Question about Gardner and coaching time |
Hoke said that Gardner is watching a ton of film and meeting with Al a lot. My question is, how is this counted towards coachable hours? Coaches can only be with players for 20 hours per week, and I am not quite sure about meeting with them outside of practice. If Al and Devin are watching film together outside of practice time, is this counted as coached hours? Everything I see only talks about the 20 hours that coaches can use of players time, but doesn't talk about any other meetings with players on their own time. I know during stretchgate, there was a lot of confusion about what is and isn't counted, and it focused a lot on stretching with coaches present. So is this the same with a player constantly calling a coach and watching film with him, or how is that viewed? |

The bumblebee man always has something bad happening to him. I thought he was referencing the AIRBHG. |

As long as it wasn't cream cheese for a bagel, we should be in the clear as far as the NCAA is concerned. |

Pretty sure the Cavs are all set with Kyrie Irving, too. That kid is going to be a stud for years if he can stay healthy. |
| 12 weeks 5 days ago | 20 |
If the B1G goes to 20, the name still applies. It would be the 2 Big Ten Divisions. Maybe this is why they didn't give up on the name. They knew it would be relevant again soon enough. |
| 12 weeks 5 days ago | Right on |
This is right on. NC State is the school that would be tied to UNC in the eyes of the legislature. Howeva, if the dominoe's fall, I could really see VT, who is most likely the SEC's top target (along with UNC) and NC State heading to the SEC without much fuss from the NC legislature. The same would be true for VT and UVA as the state gov't would be fine with them both landing in top conferences. This would also be nice for the SEC, as they could move MIZZOU to the SEC West and VT and NC State to the East. Even with no Gov't pressue to add Duke, it still might make sense. If the goal is to stay at 16, then UNC and GT should be the choices for TV sets and markets. NC and Atlanta are big markets, and this makes sense. If the goal is to go to 20 teams, then we might as well add Duke, along with UVA. If the ACC crumbles like this, that would make Syracuse available as well, so we would just need 1 more to make 20. Would we take a look at Kansas? They would suck as a football addition, but help with b-ball. ND would once again make sense, but I think that ship has sailed for good. There may not be any other good options that are AAU schools and relatively close to the midwest/eastern footprint. I think if the ACC falls apart, FSU and Clemson will join the Big 12. I also think that ND will have some affiliation with the Big 12 as well. VT and NC State head to the SEC. The B1G would have 16-20 teams, but I don't see every conference getting that big. There isn't enough of a draw. Would the Pac 12 really add Boise St, SDSU, Nevada and BYU to get to 16? Doubtfull, as all it does is water down the conference. Same with the Big 12 and SEC, as there just wouldn't be enough viable candidates to join. Wake Forest isn't going to make anyone happy. Still a long way to go before any of this happens, but if UNC jumps, everyone better find a landing place before the ACC ship goes down. |
| 12 weeks 6 days ago | Florida |
There is no chance that Florida leaves the SEC. NONE! Florida St. on the other hand may soon be available. Howeva, I see FSU, Clemson, ND and other ACC leftovers heading to the Big 12 when it is said and done. If the B1G goes 16, we know UNC, UVA and GT are the options. Beyond that, you would have to look at Syracuse, Duke, and FSU. It helps with the NY market adding Syracuse, Duke maintains one of the greatest CBB rivalries, and FSU brings even more of the south, a great market, and great recruiting. I don't ever see FSU joining the B1G, but it would be nice if 20 is where we are headed. I just don't know if I see that happening, because the PAC 12 would need to add some shitty teams to get to 20. |

Oops, was looking for UNC and B1G, or invited. Looked right over the post when it started with Per Jeff Ermann. Oh well. |
| 12 weeks 6 days ago | Maybe |
Maybe, but I don't see Nebraska being in the "New B1G" along with PSU and all the new teams. At least with UNC, we get a solid athletic program, good academic instituion (except for athletes) and strong tradition, unlike others we have added recently (looking at you Rutgers). There would have to be 4 5 team pods in this scenario. |

| 15 weeks 5 days ago | Further expansion |
I am curious to why everyone thinks that expansion should be decided as we stand right now. I still have a feeling that come the start of the 2014 season, the B1G will have 16 teams. I think the 3 most probably schools are UVA, GT, followed by UNC. While UNC would be the prize, I just don't think they will be able to leave without NC State. So assuming that UVA and GT join the B1G in 2014, neither of these alignments may be in play. I guess you could move both Staee and Purdue into the West, and then the East would have UM, OSU, PSU, RU, Maryland, GT, UVA, and IU. Talk about new rivalries. Even PSU still seems like a new rivalry, or at least a one sided one in UM's favor save the last few years. I would love having UM be able to travel to the East coast and the south each year, as it would be great for recruiting, but it would suck losing the majority of our rivals from the past. I do think this is the most logical alignment, however, and we would just have to figure a way to keep the rivalry with MSU relevant. |

Actually, he opened it up when he decided to focus on football and not basketball. MSU isn't as appealing when you are playing for Dantonio instead of Izzo. |
| 16 weeks 5 days ago | Character |
In baseball, a lot of the HoF voting isn't necessarily character, but whether or not the player cheated the integrity of the game. Bonds, Clemens, McGwire, Sosa, etc. all have been accused or admitted to taking PED's, where as that wasn't the case with LT or Ray Lewis. They both have character flaws, but they didn't cheat the game like the baseball players did (unless you consider smoking crack a PED in LT's case). If Ty Cobb can get it the HoF, most players with character flaws will be able to get in. As long as they don't violate the moral high ground from the purists, most people look the other way. |

Reports are that UT will hire a coach within the next 24 hours as well. My bet is on Charlie Strong. A lot of dominos are starting to fall. |
| 26 weeks 4 hours ago | OL |
I am all for being optimistic, but the entire offense depends on the OL play next year. If Lewan leaves like I expect him to, 4 new guys on the OL could lead to serious growing pains, regardless of Fitz being healthy. Here's to hoping Magnuson and Kalis are all they are hyped up to be! If we get steady play from them, and some solid contributions from Darboh and other WR's, the offense could be good, but that side of the ball could be shaky next season. |
| 29 weeks 6 hours ago | Don't like |
I still don't like the thinking behind that. In Conley's case, he never set foot on another campus before committing to UM. Now, that may be his fault, and I am guessing that Brady let's these players know his policy before committing, but I would still think that his approach would be, "Okay, look around and see if anything changes your mind. We will not hold a spot for you, but you are welcome to become a Michigan Man if you decide that this is the place for you." This way, he gets to reaffirm his decision and this would tell Hoke he was 100% on board. The same would have been true with Dawson if you ask me. He would have taken visits, realized that he liked UM and wanted to play with his teammates and would have recommitted. It just seems unfortunate that we cut players off as soon as they visit somewhere else instead of just considering them as uncommitted. |

Just to be that guy, the correct term is Bush league, as in out in the Bush or the Sticks. It is a baseball term stemming from small town, minor league teams. It isn't referring to Busch Light drinkers, or hillbilly types. |
| 35 weeks 6 days ago | Not necessarily |
They won't stop recruiting the player if he takes visits, buy they no longer consider them a verbal commitment and will not hold a spot if another player wants to commit. |

For those who don't follow blogs like mgoblog, many use the previews to learn about potential new contributors to the team for the season. Whether it is a new qb, incoming freshmen or a new coaching staff, the show can at least provide a small amount if input on what or who to look for in the upcoming season. It also may highlight a player that came on big as the season progressed and will be primed for a breakout year. It also gives fans of opposing teams some details on who could be a problem in their match up. |
