Izzo talks about tunnel
“I think Mel did what he was supposed to do. He reprimanded the guys that didn’t do their job right, but there’s other people who should be reprimanded for not doing their job right.”
“I’ve got a saying here—what starts bad, ends bad. If it starts good, it wouldn’t have ended bad. That’s my stickup for Mel and our program. I get tired of Michigan State always looking like the bad guy. There’s been other bad guys.”
November 8th, 2022 at 12:33 PM ^
Basically admitting that they are bad people, but hey they are other assholes out there too!
November 8th, 2022 at 12:37 PM ^
No - he's saying that Michigan is the party that started the bad things, and should have also suspended some people.
He's wrong. Show me video documentation of Michigan instigating anything physical before I believe anything MeLLLL or Izzo say about this.
November 8th, 2022 at 1:20 PM ^
Show him the video of Penn State and Michigan in the tunnel, or Rutger and Michigan on the field together after the game. Instigating is not in our blood.
Then show him evidence 1, 2, 3, and 4 of all the dirty shit they pull against Michigan.
November 8th, 2022 at 1:50 PM ^
I used to think Izzo was a decent straightforward man. Maybe even, dare I say it, a credit to State.
Man, did I ever have my head up my ass on that one.
November 8th, 2022 at 2:27 PM ^
You were wrong
November 8th, 2022 at 2:51 PM ^
As long as he comes with something more than just 'my client says...'. But I have a $dollar$ that says he won't.
November 8th, 2022 at 3:08 PM ^
So more than 2 weeks later, with all the video that's allegedly complete and available to all those investigating (b/c I'm sure we haven't seen it all), this is the first we here a new "theory". No names, no "here's the video", just allegations. Two lone Michigan players, in the tunnel with 80+ opposing players, "started the incident." The sheer insanity of such a claim is pretty despicable, not to mention the hyperbolic press release from LA, from a David Lee Roth wannabe, who's probably still bitter he couldn't get into UofM Law.
A counter claim for defamation against this clown will be delicious -- when he has the stones to name the so-called instigator.
I'm not usually this fired up but I'm tired of the lack of accountability and ownership. Out of all of this, #Tucksuspendin' has been among the most stand-up, even it took a couple extra days to take action against starters.
November 8th, 2022 at 3:59 PM ^
Yes, Michigan started it. They whooped their ass on the field. Took them to the woodshed and beat them down. Msu felt bad and retaliated in the tunnel when it was 2 on 80.
Fucking dipshits.
Did that make them feel good about themselves? I'm really hoping for jail time. Send the message that this type of behavior will not be tolerated and has no room in college athletics.
November 8th, 2022 at 3:26 PM ^
Hey, my little brother liked to play the "He started it" card, too.
November 8th, 2022 at 3:15 PM ^
Yep, this is Izzo engaging in victim blaming plain and simple. Nice culture, sparty.
November 8th, 2022 at 12:54 PM ^
It reminds me of how certain people I know approach other particular topics in life as well!
November 8th, 2022 at 1:09 PM ^
Also, we had "weird guys" and now "bad guys"
November 8th, 2022 at 3:55 PM ^
This has been the rhetoric of their fans on Twitter throughout this whole ordeal. "Yeah we know we suck BUT WHATABOUT X!?!"
Also this idea that Mel is a "hero" because he suspended 4 guys and then had no other option but to suspend 4 starters when the next video came out is pretty fuckin' hilarious.
It's a shame those scumbags won against Illinois.
November 8th, 2022 at 12:33 PM ^
As a troll, he knows lots about tunnels.
November 8th, 2022 at 12:49 PM ^
Winner.
November 8th, 2022 at 12:55 PM ^
End this thread, you win
November 8th, 2022 at 1:05 PM ^
He is from the upper peninsula, though, so he’s probably used to calling other people trolls.
November 8th, 2022 at 1:57 PM ^
We don't want him back. You can keep him down there.
November 8th, 2022 at 5:43 PM ^
Like grabbing Gabe Brown by the jersey in the tunnel?
November 8th, 2022 at 12:34 PM ^
You look like the bad guys because you are the bad guys, and you've contributed your fair share to that reality Tommy Boy.
November 8th, 2022 at 12:36 PM ^
"Bashing an opponent on the head with a helmet" = "not doing job right." Interesting.
November 8th, 2022 at 12:49 PM ^
Bashing an opponent on the head with a helmet AND GETTING CAUGHT = not doing job right per MSU standards
November 8th, 2022 at 12:54 PM ^
Whereas with OSU, not doing the job right involves not having a fall guy in place.
November 8th, 2022 at 2:00 PM ^
Also, curb stomping and punching another kid while on the ground by himself apparently = "not doing job right." C'mon Tim, "You mad bro!"
November 8th, 2022 at 12:36 PM ^
1) you always look like the bad guy because you always end up being the bad guy
2) I’ve missed all the basketball games UM and MSU played in Michigan stadium; unless he can explain why it’s ok for a group of MSU players to gang up on 1 UM player and then to use a football helmet to hit said player in the head he should do us all a favor and close his mouth. Let the legal proceedings play out.
November 8th, 2022 at 12:37 PM ^
Who are these people that need to be reprimanded? See, these kind of deflection by a coach who has been around for a long time irritates me. Classless comment. Man is clueless and a perfect fit for that POS school.
November 8th, 2022 at 1:22 PM ^
The police officers and security personnel who stood by and didn't intervene could stand to be reprimanded, though I doubt that's what Izzo is referring to.
November 8th, 2022 at 2:10 PM ^
They should be fired tbh. It is inexcusable as police/security to witness an ongoing assault and do nothing to try and stop it. What the actual F
November 8th, 2022 at 12:38 PM ^
Izzo needs to show some proof if he thinks Michigan is at fault here. Fuck him...
November 8th, 2022 at 12:38 PM ^
Fuck Tiny Tom.
November 8th, 2022 at 1:21 PM ^
umm, no. No one wants to fuck Tiny Tom. Need a Big Tom to get the job done.
November 8th, 2022 at 12:38 PM ^
Translation: I am used to creating excuses and getting a free pass on bad behavior and I think it's unfair that people are being held accountable for their actions.
November 8th, 2022 at 12:38 PM ^
Izzo should run for office when he's done coaching. He's already mastered the art of speaking two paragraphs that don't actually mean anything.
November 8th, 2022 at 3:39 PM ^
Yeah, he can get on the board like that fat sack of shit Perles.
November 8th, 2022 at 12:40 PM ^
I'll keep saying. Take these guys off the schedule. Whaddabout-ism is a plague.
November 8th, 2022 at 2:07 PM ^
Me too Comrade.
November 8th, 2022 at 12:40 PM ^
Instead of promoting culture change he wants the media to look for other "bad guys" What a joke of a man.
November 8th, 2022 at 1:32 PM ^
I remember OJ Simpson talking about hiring investigators to find "the real killers."
November 8th, 2022 at 2:43 PM ^
Yep....look over there..no I mean look under there....or back there...you know, there are other bad guys out there, you are just not looking in the right place.
Mel owes Tom a nice steak dinner and some cigars after that game of charades.
The sad truth is that people like this and others in the MSU media sphere are doing what seems to be happening all over..they are encouraging violence. You blame shift for your own violence and then the bar gets raised and it escalates...and escalates..
November 8th, 2022 at 12:40 PM ^
He’s an arrogant asshole and a part of their toxic culture
November 8th, 2022 at 12:40 PM ^
"I'm tired of our guys doing dumbass thuggish things and getting caught at it and people saying State is the bad guy, because other people have bad guys too."
November 8th, 2022 at 12:40 PM ^
Michigan State has become like the WWF "house-wrestler" when they show up at pre-conference neutral site double headers. They are "John Williams" who is just there to get pummeled by Bret Hart.
November 8th, 2022 at 12:40 PM ^
Tom Izzo is human garbage.
November 8th, 2022 at 12:40 PM ^
Yes, let's "reprimand" people who batter someone with a potentially lethal object and the others that help or stand by and watch. They need good talking to.
Tom Izzo is a pathetic tiny man.
November 8th, 2022 at 12:41 PM ^
When losing by double digits, why didn't MSU try floor-slapping?
(Never gets old, guys.)
November 8th, 2022 at 12:41 PM ^
So its big brothers fault little brother has a superiority complex? Ok, got it.
November 8th, 2022 at 1:32 PM ^
inferiority... but yeah.
November 9th, 2022 at 11:34 AM ^
WHOOPS! yes you are correct
November 8th, 2022 at 12:42 PM ^
And we wonder why Draymond Green clocks his own teammate. That place has an insane culture. Glad to be a Wolverine!
