Hill's torn ACL occurred this past Saturday against Indiana. Don't think Maryland has any chance with Piggy taking snaps.

11/15/2018 - 1:38pm Refs went full-on sympathy…

Refs went full-on sympathy calls for Nova in the second half. Oh, Michigan looked at you? Here, have a foul. That's the only reason this didn't end up a bigger blowout.

I know he isn't part of the "base" set but Brandon Watson really needs to be included on the Michigan defensive chart since he plays the majority of the game and is stickier than super glue. Maybe include a small "Bench" section for Michigan?

Maybe he'll leave again.

*fingers crossed*

11/14/2018 - 8:49pm So yeah, I was very wrong…

So yeah, I was very wrong about needing to get Poole going -- he's still MIA and it couldn't have mattered any less. But I was very right about that suffocating defense. I'll take it!

11/14/2018 - 8:34pm These referees have been…

These referees have been abysmal. I'd be furious if this wasn't a 25-point game. Villanova hits Brooks in the face and he gets called for a travel. Bums.

P.S. Eat shit, Jay Wright.

BTW, if you're strapped for Michigan Basketball info, head on over to UMHoops.com. Dylan and co. do fantastic work.

The true Ty Butterfield is back! All this football winning made me wonder if your depressing worldview would go away -- nope, you just transferred it to basketball!

11/14/2018 - 4:04pm Michigan has a chance…

Michigan has a chance because of its suffocating defense but the overall poor shooting numbers thus far make this an uphill battle. Jordan Poole needs to get going for Michigan to win at the Pavilion tonight.

THE SECTION WHERE I PREDICT THE SAME THING KENPOM DOES

11/14/2018 - 8:33am Crowley Sullivan seems like…

Crowley Sullivan seems like he might legitimately have mental issues. His level of obsession with Michigan, and Winovich in particular, is beyond unhealthy. Dude's world is probably crashing down on him as he finds it harder and harder to deny that the tide of the rivalry has shifted and that MSU's run of dominance is over. Add to that the fact that he acted like a complete jackass at B1G Media Day and is probably getting that thrown in his face by people on social media and I wouldn't be surprised if he had a full-on meltdown.

Could a mod clean up the title for this thread?

Something like "Caris LeVert Injury Update" would be better. Thanks!

11/13/2018 - 6:44am That "article" about…

That "article" about Winovich is one of the most pathetic things I've ever read. As I said before, what a fucking loser.

11/12/2018 - 7:52pm What a fucking loser.

What a fucking loser.

Hilarious to think that TCU was once considered a top team. What are they now, 4-6?

My Roku remote is going to get a workout on Friday night as I bounce back and forth between the ESPN and FSGo apps for OU/WVU and the Apple Cup.

11/12/2018 - 1:18pm Someone smarter than me can…

Someone smarter than me can chime in on this (Alton would surely know) but I think that each Big Ten team has to appear on FOX (or FS1?) at least once due to the updated TV contracts that went into effect last season.

I bet A&M thought they had a nice little scrimmage set up for the annual SEC Plays A Baby Seal Week when they scheduled UAB. Whoops. The Blazers, in just their second season since the program was shuttered, are 9-1 and nationally ranked (#25) for the first time in program history.

11/12/2018 - 1:09pm Rudock was the QB in 2015,…

Rudock was the QB in 2015, not Speight.

Going into halftime I was feeling pretty good as Michigan had just kicked a FG and was getting the second half kickoff. Then they went 3-and-out and Mitchell Paige brought the punt back to the house. Oops.

Iowa State has three losses already.

Ryan (DT) tore his pectoral the week previous against Rutgers in 2015. DL depth was scary thin and IU's Jordan Howard went ham as a result.

Yes, points have stopped working again.

11/11/2018 - 12:07pm Eh, I'd say that Brohm has…

Eh, I'd say that Brohm has Purdue back to their historical norm of 6-6/7-5. Yes, the Darrell Hazell experiment was a disaster but also recall that Danny Hope went 7-6 and 6-6 in his last two seasons but was fired so that Hazell could be brought in from Kent State.

Sources: Louisville fires football coach Bobby Petrino

The article is written by Pat Forde who I believe lives in Louisville and is quite plugged in to its goings-on.

EDIT (11:52a): Statement by the UL athletic director:

"We want to thank Bobby for guiding our football program to some of the better seasons we have had historically at UofL during his two separate tenures here," athletic director Vince Tyra said in a release. "However, at this time we feel the program needs different leadership and we owe it to our student-athletes and fans to get this turned around. I did not have the confidence that it was going to happen next season without a change and it needs to start happening now. We expect to determine a new head coach soon to restore our football program to national prominence."

Yep, points (both for posts and upvotes) worked for a few days but have stopped again. Perhaps it was a tune-up before the fully-functioning system is rolled out.

EDIT: A day later and points seem to be working again.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

11/10/2018 - 9:08pm Don't look now but Purdue…

Don't look now but Purdue still has to play Wisconsin and Indiana. Based on the complete Jekyll and Hyde nature of that team, I could easily see them losing both those games. Not sure Brohm would be so hot coming off a 5-7 season.

11/09/2018 - 6:55pm Actually, I'm fine with it…

Actually, I think a lot folks around here are fine with it. An embarrassing loss to a pathetic football program such as yours helped usher out the woebegone Brady Hoke era and brought us Jim Harbaugh, he of a 3-0 record (by a combined score of 162-30) against the worst Power Five team in existence.

And hey, best of luck on your fifth attempt to finish outside the cellar in men's basketball.

Not at all sad to see that guy gone from this blog. He used to be a decent poster, then turned into a jerk for a while, left and returned to be decent again and then took his final form as a complete weird ass. His constant graphic assertions of what Michigan was going to do to ND were particularly idiotic.

https://mgoblog.com/users/fan-fargo-0

This guy says a lot of inflammatory stuff, mostly of the "I'm a tough guy" nature, and most recently went on an insane diatribe about what physical violence he'd like to perpetrate on Frank Beamer (LINK), complete with pathetically mocking his unfortunate skin deformity from a childhood accident.

This guy provides nothing of value to this blog but nonsensical, violence-filled hate spew.

11/08/2018 - 11:04am Michigan plays ND in…

Michigan plays ND in literally any other week of the season and they beat the Irish. Week one, on the road, at night, against a rival was a crummy way to begin the season. Still salty that their return trip next year is smack dab in the middle of Michigan's conference slate.

11/08/2018 - 11:00am Look at ND's travel schedule…

Look at ND's travel schedule for their last five games. You'd have to wonder if Swarbrick was trolling his own football team.

  • vs Navy - San Diego, CA
  • at Northwestern - Evanston, IL
  • vs Florida State - Notre Dame, IN
  • vs Syracuse - Bronx, NY
  • at Southern Cal - Los Angeles, CA
11/08/2018 - 10:53am That isn't how over/under…

For over/under you need to set a baseline to then pick against (e.g. O/U 6.5 defensive trouble spots). What you're talking about is just a regular prop bet (Will Rutgers' offense or defense have more trouble spots?).

It doesn't count because of the turnover. Touchdowns also don't count as first downs (not that this applies here!).

Counterpoint: 2016 MSU and ND. #12 and #10 to begin the season, end up going 3-9 and 4-8.

11/07/2018 - 9:43am I've been to most of the…

I've been to most of the conference's stadiums (plus ND) and none of the other public address announcers I've heard come remotely close to Carl. Other PA guys get ridiculously overamped during big plays, constantly repeat cheesy catchphrases or just have plain annoying, non-PA voices. Carl remains consistent (though he's not afraid to add a little chutzpah when it's needed, i.e. "McDoooom") and simply tells you what happened in a professional manner. He is the best.

I have some really cool pictures of the transformation of the field/environment from normal to light snow to full-on blizzard. It was a lot of fun being in the stadium that day.

It was three years ago, but your point still stands -- he gashed the hell out of the defense. Though, at that point DL depth was so thin I think you and I were on the two-deep.
