Later readers won't know, but as first published this article had nothing after "the jump".  Perhaps, like the Michigan offense, Brian was not wanting to put anything new on tape for OSU.

11/15/2018 - 2:19pm It is generally believed…

It is generally believed that 5-star Defensive End George Karlaftis, currently committed to Purdue, will de-commit and come to Michigan if Brohm leaves.  That's why we're all so interested.

11/14/2018 - 1:02pm ESPN Likes to give nicknames…

ESPN Likes to give nicknames to particular weeks in the year.  "Showdown Saturday" or "Statement Saturday" or whatever.  Need a nickname for this one.  Alliteration is preferred but not required.

11/12/2018 - 3:06pm It includes all possible…

It includes all possible postseason games (could be up to three of them).  People stressing about Milton's red shirt (and I don't mean you specifically) need to relax.  If we want/need him for more than two additional games, things are either going very very well or very very poorly.

Can you build the entire team out of defensive ends?

At least we're not calling them Buttgers like some people...

Unless I'm missing something, this doesn't make any sense.

If Patterson returns McCaffery "loses" a year of starting, but if McCaffery transfers he loses a year for real.  He already red-shirted.

11/05/2018 - 2:17pm If Bama loses to Auburn we…

If Bama loses to Auburn we're safe, because then you get the following SEC championship scenarios:

Bama beats Georgia: Georgia has two losses, don't worry about them.

Georgia beats Bama: Bama has two losses, don't worry about them.

The SEC 2-bid nightmare scenario requires both Bama and Georgia to go undefeated prior to the championship.  A loss from either of them solves it.

Let's see... every week we say "oh man that's a crazy spread, why is it so high?" and then we triple it.  So...

oh man that's a crazy spread, why is it so high?

...there.  Now we should win by 109 points.

This is a better summation of the Maryland/Durkin fiasco than anything I have read anywhere else.

10/31/2018 - 1:52pm I'm hoping Michigan makes…

I'm hoping Michigan makes the playoffs, but failing that there are plenty of scenarios that put us in a bowl game against Washington State.  That could be fun.

I mean is sharkface even an insult?  Sharks have awesome faces.  Incredibly potent senses.  Pure killing machines.  They possess an attitude any football coach would want to distill into his football team.

10/30/2018 - 12:16pm I thought "Timing and Luck"…

I thought "Timing and Luck" was the story of MSU's decade of relative success.

10/30/2018 - 11:21am Somebody a few days ago…

Somebody a few days ago mentioned that if we scheduled Akron instead of Notre Dame, we'd be undefeated and #4 right now.

Take it a step further - if Notre Dame played a patsy for the first game instead of us, where would THEY be ranked? ND vs. Stanford looked like a big win at the time but Stanford's 5-3 now.  Virginia Tech is 4-3.  And those are their best wins apart form us.

10/30/2018 - 12:35am LJ Scott, Running Back,…

LJ Scott, Running Back, Michigan State

Vs. Michigan: 10 carries, 25 yards. 2.5 yard average, plus one more rush for zero yards negated due to personal foul on MSU.

Tell us more about your "little sister", Mr. Scott.

10/30/2018 - 12:31am I guess there's no way this…

I guess there's no way this can be asked without violating the "no politics" rule of the blog, but I'm gonna give it a try and we'll see what happens I guess.

I normally do not vote for the leadership positions at MSU and Wayne state that are on the ballot.  I kind of figure since I'm a U of M grad it's none of my business.  But this time, with everything that's happened at State, and given the disinterest the existing trustees have shown in enacting the sort of change that might prevent such things in the future, I may have to change that.  So... who are the candidates for MSU trustee, if any, that have shown any sort of basic human decency regarding the Nassar crimes and cover up?  I'm gonna be a single issue voter in this particular race, so I honestly don't care if they're a Republican, Democrat, or third (fourth, fifth...) party.

I guess I haven't been keeping track... is Chris Webber cool now?  I thought things were still a little eeehhhhh there.

Man MSU can't just let us have everything.  They even want to fight over who's got the dumbest former athlete tweeting embarrassing stuff.

10/29/2018 - 2:39pm One of these weeks they're…

One of these weeks they're going to ask Harbaugh about injuries and he's going to provide a complete medical breakdown of every roster player including x-rays and blood work results where applicable.  I mean, I have to assume he will one of these days... why else would they keep asking him?

10/29/2018 - 12:38pm Consider the following…

Consider the following rather ghoulish scenario:

Michigan loses to PSU and OSU, wins the rest

Michigan State wins the rest including against OSU

Penn State wins the rest

OSU wins the rest except for MSU

All four teams would be 7-2 in conference. First tiebreaker is record agaisnt each other.  There Michigan and PSU drop out having gone 1-2 against the rest, whereas MSU and OSU went 2-1.  With two teams remaining tied, the head-to-head results are examined, and your Big Ten East conference champion is... MSU.

Mlive: How to "research" an article by looking at a couple box scores on ESPN.

10/29/2018 - 9:29am Are we still convinced Brohm…

Are we still convinced Brohm is on his way elsewhere? I mean, we all loved them pants-ing OSU but they're now 4 and 4.  MSU made them look like the middling-to-poor Big 10 team they've looked like in all but a couple games so far this year.

10/28/2018 - 2:10pm a forecast for six days away…

a forecast for six days away is not terribly reliable, but AM rain wouldn't be too bad given the 3:45pm kickoff.

10/26/2018 - 11:16am Really? You sure you don't…

Really? You sure you don't just want to let him go out there and flail around for 90% of the game before you finally put the other guy in? Because that worked pretty well last week.

10/25/2018 - 11:47am I mean, LSU plays Alabama in…

I mean, LSU plays Alabama in a week and a half.  They're about to either be behind us or very deservedly in front of us, depending.  Not really a big deal.

10/24/2018 - 10:13pm Klatt referenced the Higdon…

Klatt referenced the Higdon phantom holding penalty again during the MSU podcast.  Is there any chance we get him for the OSU game?  Would love to have someone who will actually call it out if OSU ends up with two penalties for four yards again.

I'm sure the NCAA is calibrating its Precision Wrist Slapper as we speak.

Pinconning put up 35 points in their last game.  Maybe MSU should be asking them for some pointers instead of stressing about the logo.

Maybe but you still gotta take Jolton O'Peters over Threetsheridamnit.

Downfield Success Rate, a complicated metric Brian uses to assess quarterback play.  It takes a lot more into account than more simple stats like passing yards or completion percentage.

10/24/2018 - 12:01am I brought my 5 year old to…

I brought my 5 year old to three games this year.  She gets squirmy and stuff so it's a hard time keeping her in her seat, but she says she enjoys the games and keeps asking to come back.

If you take your son to rutgers you're going to have to explain to him afterwards that Michigan doesn't normally win by 60 every game.

10/23/2018 - 7:23pm No argument here.

Right now…

No argument here.

Right now they're all about how poor Urban was unjustly punished for the actions of a bad apple and how all of that has effected his health and well being.  I wonder if their tune will change if the bottom drops out like it did at Florida.

10/23/2018 - 7:11pm I think we can all agree …

I think we can all agree (and even most Buckeye fans probably would too) that Urban Meyer has many more days behind him in Columbus than he does in front of him.

At Florida, he got out just before all the rot eating away at the underside of the program became obvious.  They curse his name there now, even though he won two national championships in six years, because of how badly the program collapsed right after he left.  I wonder if, five years from now, Urban Meyer will be regarded the same way among the Ohio State fanbase.

10/23/2018 - 12:52pm If Gary is really done for…

If Gary is really done for the season, what do you suppose his draft stock is?  Has he really played his way into the first round with his resume so far? He's mostly been good but not truly dominant, which is completely understandable if he's been playing through injury.

Does it even make sense for him to leave for the draft this year if he can't put anything else on tape before then?

10/23/2018 - 11:06am Who would have guessed the…

Who would have guessed the guy that got fired from his last job for crashing his motorcycle with his mistress on board would have trouble with ethical standards at his next job?

Don't stress, Bobby.  I hear there may be a new Head Coaching opening in Columbus in a couple months.

10/22/2018 - 12:34pm None of us can make an…

None of us can make an informed answer about that since none of us know the specific nature of the injury and Harbaugh is not inclined to discuss it.  It's kind of irresponsible to speculate about it my opinion, especially because you're also speculating about Gary's motives and character in doing so.

10/21/2018 - 8:50pm One thing I noticed in…

One thing I noticed in watching replays.  One of our players would be sacking the quarterback.  Another of our players would be up, head on a swivel, looking to engage with any MSU linemen that came to harass the tackler.

Our guys went into that stadium ready for a war, got one, and won it.

10/16/2018 - 11:04am How does this play compare…

How does this play compare to the Karan Higdon "holding from Mars" play against Northwestern?

10/15/2018 - 3:14pm From my vantage point, it…

From my vantage point, it seemed like the badger fans were largely NOT jumping 'round.

Bucky Badger was though.

10/15/2018 - 2:54pm I just want to know why,…

I just want to know why, down 2-3 scores in the end of the third / start of the fourth time frame, Paul Chryst is calling running plays, letting 40 seconds run off between plays, and being risk averse with punting...

but down FIVE scores, with five minutes left, all of a sudden it's the all pass offense, it's Hail Mary on 4th and 10 from your own 25, two point conversion, and onside kick.

One of my buddies at the game theorized that the Wisconsin assistant coaches staged a sideline revolt and managed the game after the pick 6.  Honestly I don't have a more likely theory.

10/15/2018 - 1:59pm Maybe just review the last…

Maybe just review the last decade of UM vs MSU?

10/15/2018 - 1:39pm Penn State rushed for 205 on…

Penn State rushed for 205 on them... wonder how much of that stat is good MSU defense and how much is bad opponent's rushing attack.

Example: Northwestern rushed for 8 yards against MSU (but won).  Sounds good.  But Northwestern rushed for 28 against us, 32 against Nebraska, 86 against Akron... one might just be inclined to say Northwestern is a terrible rushing team.

10/15/2018 - 1:13pm Maybe in the 4th quarter…

Maybe in the 4th quarter against Rutgers we can start punting on first down like they did in the Snow Bowl way back when.

10/15/2018 - 12:29pm It's easy.  Rutgers wins…

It's easy.  Rutgers wins their next five games, finishing 5-4 in the Big Ten.

Ohio State loses the rest of their games to finish 4-5.

Michigan loses everything except the OSU game, so they finish 5-4, but they lose to Rutgers so Rutgers owns the tiebreaker.

The rest of the East Division already has one loss so it's not too hard to find 4 more losses for them over their next 5-6 games.

Rutgers wins the East, goes to the B1G Championship.
