The most surprising thing to me is that Ohio State has given up so many rushing yards against a completely one dimensional offense. Maryland has attempted FOUR passes in the first half.

I feel like next week is a game where the Big Big Boys can make hay against OSU. Maryland is running to the right a lot.

This is...not what I was expecting from Ohio State.
|11/10/2018 - 6:45pm||I thought before the game…||
I thought before the game that Michigan would not cover the spread. Mainly because the game plan would be conservative to the max, and it pretty much was. No keeps for Patterson. Ran things that we’ve been seeing all season. Bell, Martin, Wilson, etc. all got plenty of snaps early to keep the impact off the starters.
It was enough to win against a completely outmatched opponent. I largely expect the same thing next week.

If you put any stock in ESPN's FPI, they say that Michigan has a 73.9% and a 70.2% chance of victory against Wisconsin and Michigan State, respectively.

MSU has already had their bye week. It was the week after the Arizona State game.
|09/30/2018 - 9:45pm||Using the fool-proof method…||
Using the fool-proof method of the transitive property, I'm hoping that a Michigan team that put up nearly 400 yards of offense with no turnovers against a better NW defense (now #31 per S&P+) on the road can put up more yards and points against a statistically lesser defense while at home.
|09/30/2018 - 1:01am||My biggest takeaway from…||
My biggest takeaway from this game will made next week when Michigan plays Maryland. Maryland will also be coming off of a bye, and will likely (too soon?) have a number of things schemed up to try and get Michigan on its heels.
If Michigan can come out and play a clean and focused game next week, then I might start feeling better about Wisconsin coming to town a week later.

|09/29/2018 - 8:24pm||You don't win many games…||
You don't win many games after falling behind 17-0, especially on the road. Happy to have a win and it really feels like we stole one. Good teams find a way to win facing adversity, but good teams also don't come out so sluggish.
And clean up the penalties, for crying out loud...
|09/29/2018 - 8:17pm||Way to step up after getting…||
Way to step up after getting punched multiple times in the first half. It felt like Michigan had no pass rush in the first half, which allowed Thorson to throw absolute dimes. In the second half, the pass rush was hitting home which totally shut down NW's offense.
|09/29/2018 - 8:14pm||I thought that it was…||
I thought that it was interesting that Michigan only started trying to run the ball AFTER they found themselves in a huge hole.
People who know much more football than I may disprove this, but I thought that the pass protection was alright all things considered. Still would like to see the OL close out a game instead of relying on the defense to make one more stop.

Offense started hot and they kept the pressure up during the first half.
OL was caving Nebraska's DL. Pass protection looked pretty solid.
Patterson and McCaffrey both looked good.
Nice to have Higdon back.
No complaints from me. Great win!

If Tru Wilson can pass block, he's going to get much more playing time as the season goes on. He seems to have good burst and he hit the hole hard. I liked what I saw from him in his limited carries.

It was a heck of a run, any way you look at it. It was a pleasure watching this team play and they’ll go down in history as one of the great ones in Michigan lore. There will be talk of this team for a long time to come.
|03/26/2018 - 10:22am||Michigan has done a fantastic||
Michigan has done a fantastic job of limiting and contesting teams shooting threes, so on paper this looks like a good matchup. Without Ents patrolling the basket, this looks like a game where Michigan can drive and hopefully create good looks.
Nice to not have to worry about the defense in a game like this. Like football, it’s gotten to the point where you just know what to expect game in game out. Still doesn’t make it any less amazing to see what they’ve accomplished this season.

Get a couple good matchups in the tournament, spring an upset, and Michigan could be right there. There don't appear to be any truly dominant teams this year, and Michigan is the type of team that higher seeded teams will dread playing.
|11/07/2017 - 11:50pm||Can someone who knows more||
Can someone who knows more about football than I do explain his comment about Peters and his long delivery? He may not have the fastest wind up, but watching his delivery with my untrained eye there doesn't seem to be a glaring deficiency. Gerdeman's writeup is the first I've heard it mentioned.
Hilarious article, as usual.

|11/07/2017 - 3:10pm||It'll be interesting to see||
It'll be interesting to see how big of a test Iowa can give Wisconsin this weekend. Iowa can be a completely different team when they're on the road, but it looks like Wisconsin may actually have to play teams with a pulse on back to back weeks.
|11/01/2017 - 4:54pm||Continuing to build||
Continuing to build confidence along the offensive line and QB position are what I'm looking for. Solid showings against higher quality teams will build confidence for the team going into next season.
Minnesota, Maryland, and Wisconsin are all beatable teams. With Ohio State, Penn State, and Wisconsin all slated for bowls ahead of Michigan at the moment, that should result in a manageable bowl opponent. A bowl victory could be crucial for momentum into the off season.
I said 9-3 or 10-2 at the start of the season, leaning toward 9-3. That's still doable.
|10/30/2017 - 12:10pm||Just because Speight is||
Just because Speight is cleared to play doesn't mean he'd be immediately available to return. Is he even practicing right now?
If Peters can play at a level that Michigan is able to win and show improvement against Minnesota and Maryland, you probably stick with him against Wisconsin and Ohio State. Similar to not throwing Peters in against Michigan State at night or Penn State on the road, throwing Speight back in against Wisconsin or Ohio State probably would not work out well.
