Good to see Director Smith being relevant again after the tattoo fiasco. Welcome back!

Alright, I'll be that guy....

As funny as this is, and as much as I love that Harbaugh will not allow this program to take shit from anyone, he'd better be able to back his talk up against these guys on the field. I know he wasn't directly talking about Meyer and this current crop of OSU players, but you can bet they all took note of this. There's nothing to suggest Harbaugh won't win big here, but if he lays goose eggs against OSU every year, this act will wear thin quickly.

Okay, I'm off my soapbox. You may now proceed to neg me.

I disagree. Harbaugh has yet to attack anyone as far as I know. He's been defending himself and the program. So you're saying that if he doesn't win on the field he should lay back and allow people (including clowns like Smith and Stankey) to insinuate cheating or unfairness is going on in Ann Arbor. Buuuuulloney.

Smith could have answered that question without  taking a jab at the program, something that Jim inherited, didn't build and foster. I thought, maybe for a few seconds if it were wise for Jim to do this, but as you said, it was the same as with the SEC/ACC coaches and their commissioners. He never mentioned one damn  thing to him about his reasons for doing what he was doing, and for damn good reason. They decided to take the attack to  him. Actually, Jim was easy on Smith. He could have easily said, "And you're the man that allowed the OSU sanctions while it was clear to all what was going on." He didn't. And Gene, you might want to consider that a warning shot. He is too smart for any and all of you as he has proven to date. He could, if you persist, embarrass the shit out of you and you know he has the ammo.

that's fear talking. Rightful fear but fear. Smith is a smug hard-on that talks like he deserves his job after all the crap he's allowed under him. He wants to talk shit? Hit em in the mouth. Let em lay. I didn't even take issue with what Smith said because it's basically true but he didn't have to say it at all or in a snarky tone. osu has WAY more talent than us and has for many years now. We know. He wants to talk shit? Hit him where he assumed nobody would go. Coach went there under 140 characters. I love it.

I get it, but harbaugh has only played OSU once. It's not like he's been getting his ass kicked by them for years. The mantra of "he can only respond to unprovoked negativity from OSU once he's beaten them" doesn't really work that well at this point.

I like his attitude. If you're going to talk shit, then make sure your record is clean, or you'll get an a-bomb dropped on your ass. 10-3 isn't a world ending record, but he took a soft team and put steal in their spines. The man has stood up for his squad, and I like that.

As the starting qb for UM, and it's not something any of us as fans then will forget, he simply stated words Bo probably really didn't care to hear, "I guarantee we'll beat OSU this Saturday." And he simply went about taking care of business and delivering on his promise. Afterward, Bo was asked what he thought about Jim's prediction. He responded, "Well, I told the team our qb and captain had made a guarantee of a victory today. I guess we should do everything we can to make sure he isn't proven a liar."

What else could he have said? But later he told someone on a radio show or maybe just a columnist, "I'd damn sure rather have a qb that guaranteed a victory than someone guaranteeing the opposite."

There were some people that Bo, no matter how much he tried to hide the fact he was human, were simply some of his favorites. Among these were A.C., probably one of the few he didn't have on ongoing verbal war with(motivaional ploy) during his career, then there were the others, Jim Harbaugh  and Jamie Morris, for example, that Bo would, Monday through Thursday, insult them  as a player, call everything they did on the football field into question, repeat over and over he would never recruit a player of their caliber again and on and on. The reason, in looking back, was simple. They could take it. There were others, similar to A.C. like Rob Lytle and Dan Deirdorf. He never had to motivate them, question them or do anything out  of the ordinary. He simply loved them as both players and men because he knew those were three positions he never had to worry about.

It's going to come to the point soon that people will not publically criticize Harbaugh because they just get shredded every time. Hard to win, easy to lose
