nah, it's because the NBA has sucked for years and getting worse.

might want to think of a new way of paraphrasing that in the future.

Did he actually use the term "rock touches" or is that part of your (paraphrase)?

01/02/2019 - 12:55pm And yet after their win the…

And yet after their win the sideline reporter and camera man ran to him and stuck a microphone in his face to let him give us all his thoughts and sage words of advice. What a despicable human and shame on the networks for continuing to consume his bullshit. That was disgusting.

01/02/2019 - 12:43pm I had always believed that…

I had always believed that prior to the bracket unveiling prices would be at their lowest. Once the brackets came out those fanbases would increase the demand for the tickets, thus raising the prices.

Last year Staples Center hosted the sweet 16/elite 8 games. I decided to buy about two dozen tickets for both sessions before selection Sunday. Partly as an investment, partly because I was planning to go to both sessions regardless of the teams. The investment portion of the plan required that big/traveling fanbases were selected for the West region. I was hoping for Kansas, Arizona, Gonzaga, etc.

Xavier was selected as the #1 seed which was the worst possible team for my investment plan. But Gonzaga, UNC, and Michigan rounded out the top 4. Of course the sweet 16 ended up Michigan, Gonzaga, FSU, and A&M. I was obviously thrilled as a Michigan fan getting to see both those great games. But from a ticket sales standpoint I lost my ass.

This was a long post to answer a simple question. My advice would be to buy just the first round ticket only, prior to the brackets. Wait to buy second round tickets as there will be two fanbases looking to dump their tickets after their teams lose in the first round.

12/30/2018 - 10:35pm Same Bando.

It's actually…

Same Bando.

It's actually sort of odd. I consume the same amount of Michigan football information/recruiting/analysis as always. But I've been able to let the losses slide off my back much much more easily than I did up until about the age of 30. I think moving to California had something to do with it. But also having to find a way to cope with RR/Hoke from a survial standpoint was also a factor.

I also have found enjoyment in attending several non-Michigan games over the years, usually big/important games. I think this is evidence that I just enjoy the event in general just as much as the actual games. It's also nice to go to a big/important game without any nerves, LSU/UGA and LSU/Bama this year for example.

Another thing that I have begun doing is just turning off games when I get too nervous/mad to watch them. I record them, then just track on gamecast. If thing turn around I will tune back in. If not then I feel like I am the smartest person in the world for having avoided the bullshit. For example I only really watched about the first quarter and a half of the Florida game and am happy about that. Worst example was not watching one second of the MSU game during Hoke's last season. I would have never dreamed I'd do that when I was younger.

I saw he was announcing an hour ago .Got my haircut, gas, fed the dogs. Sat on my couch, clicked on the link, and get showed his Michigan shirt 5 seconds later. Perfect timing.

12/05/2018 - 10:44pm False, they did have an…

False, they did have an affair but they both worked for ESPN for several years afterwards. But that did result in them being assigned to different games/locations to keep them apart.

Way back in 1999/2000 Herbstreit cheated on his wife with a co-ed at Florida. He didn't wear his wedding ring and google didn't exist, so she was not aware of his marriage. When she found out she dumped him and he begged her to stay, saying he would leave his wife for the co-ed. Said co-ed started dating senior QB Jesse Palmer. Herbstreit then trolled Palmer when he called Florida games.

Has to be a bit awkward now that they work together....

12/03/2018 - 6:06pm nope, byes are aburd. How…

nope, byes are aburd. How much more does Oklahoma deserve the 4 over OSU? Very marginally close right? The selections are also mostly arbitrary and subjective. So to allow the #4 a bye while making #5 play an extra game is a terrible idea.

8 team playoff, higher ranked team gets one quarterfinal home game. That's the correct solution.

11/28/2018 - 4:22pm Yes, but had we played a MAC…

Yes, but had we played a MAC team instead of ND I would not have flown back for that game. I would not have hung out with old friends that I never get to see anymore. I would have then spent two days on the lakes with my family. So no, this is a bad idea if you enjoy fun events and good times. I understand the stance, but I absolutely disagree. Big games win or lose is what I live for as a fan.

UW/Wazzou over. This one seems really low as I think Wazzou will have their foot on the gas at home and UW will do all they can to keep up.

WVU/Oklahoma over. Big12 over is always a good bet. Also makes games much more fun to watch.

11/08/2018 - 10:42am Perfectly said. I've posted…

Perfectly said. I've posted the same thing for a while now, on another board. It works in the NFL because there are only 32 teams, much more schedule parity, more structure, etc. One team isn't playing all NFL teams while another, looking at you SEC, plays practice squads like the Citadel. The theoretical NFL schedule balance allows the reward of bye weeks.

In college there is way too much variance in terms of conference schedules, out of conference schedules, etc to give the massive advantage of a bye. Let's pretend Alabama, Clemson, and ND (yuck) all end up undefeated this year with a 6-team playoff system. So Alabama and Clemson get byes and ND not getting the bye would be very unfair. On top of that the fact that it truly is a subjective decision would make it a mess.

8 team playoff with the top 4 seeds getting home field is the correct answer.

Just got back from a week in the UP for the first time since I was an engineer at GM doing cold weather testing back in 2000. Flew from LA through Minney to Sault St. Marie. Family rented a cabin on Lake Huron all week. We did that fresh water springs thing, Tahquamenon Falls, Mackinac Island for a day/overnight, and the Soo Locks.

Such a great break from the hustle/bustle of LA. Congrats on your baby.

- OSU fans trying to justify backing Urban.

"Even though Urban has run terribly dirty and corrupt programs at every stop, enabling dozen of criminals both on the field and in his coaches room we all attribute our entire self-worth with the success of this football team. So we have no choice but to back this piece of shit or our entire identity goes extinct. Now watch me spell OSU with my arms."

07/28/2018 - 3:01pm A few days after they won…

A few days after they won the Rose Bowl a few Wisky players were at my local bar. I spoke to one of their starting OLineman over beers for a while. A few things:

1. He told me that he grew up a big Michigan fan and was bummed when he never got an offer.

2. Said that he actually felt a little sad for our defense when they just ran the ball down our throats. While growing up he loved how good Michigan was in the trenches so it was odd to him how soft we were that season.

07/19/2018 - 5:38pm I've been to three Michigan…

I've been to three Michigan games there, 2004, 2012, and 2014. I'm also flying in from the west coast for this year's game, hopefully finally a win.

All three times I was with ND buddies so I didn't really have to fend for myself. I would not even worry about going to any bars before the game in South Bend or Mishawaka. Park your car, grab a 12 pack and walk around. Check out the campus a bit, then just walk the tailgates. People are pretty friendly really. Find a tailgate with solid food then chat up someone there and they'll eventually offer you food. You can do this all day long. I've been to dozens and dozens of non-Michigan home game tailgates and for the most part people like to host and play nice.

Unless you already have specific plans and depending on where you plan to go Sunday you should just find a hotel 30-60 minutes outside of town. If you're heading back to the ATL then find something towards Indy. I just drive back to my parents' house over the Michigan border after the games.

As someone that transferred from LSA into engineering I have a bit of experience with this. My first question is what is his GPA? I know that back in the 90s at least the minimum GPA for even IOE was a 3.0.

Also, and this might sound obvious, but such a move will surely set him back a semester or two. I actually took a big risk by taking ME classes before I even got into engineering school to lessen the blow. Luckily I got in so those classes weren't wasted.

When I lived in Chicago a few years ago I decided to buy a pair of NW season tickets as they had a very good home schedule that included Michigan, OSU, MSU among others. Think I sold my OSU tickets for a hundred more than I spent for the entire season. Not a bad idea depending on the rest of their schedule.
