I've been to three Michigan games there, 2004, 2012, and 2014. I'm also flying in from the west coast for this year's game, hopefully finally a win.

All three times I was with ND buddies so I didn't really have to fend for myself. I would not even worry about going to any bars before the game in South Bend or Mishawaka. Park your car, grab a 12 pack and walk around. Check out the campus a bit, then just walk the tailgates. People are pretty friendly really. Find a tailgate with solid food then chat up someone there and they'll eventually offer you food. You can do this all day long. I've been to dozens and dozens of non-Michigan home game tailgates and for the most part people like to host and play nice.

Unless you already have specific plans and depending on where you plan to go Sunday you should just find a hotel 30-60 minutes outside of town. If you're heading back to the ATL then find something towards Indy. I just drive back to my parents' house over the Michigan border after the games.

Rooting for this kid, would be great to see him a two sport all-conference athlete.

As someone that transferred from LSA into engineering I have a bit of experience with this. My first question is what is his GPA? I know that back in the 90s at least the minimum GPA for even IOE was a 3.0.

Also, and this might sound obvious, but such a move will surely set him back a semester or two. I actually took a big risk by taking ME classes before I even got into engineering school to lessen the blow. Luckily I got in so those classes weren't wasted.

Sort of odd that they announced each specific stadium 8 years out. I assume if any location builds a new stadium they have the option to play there instead.

Best best move is to take the purple line up then bum beers and food from various tailgates.

When I lived in Chicago a few years ago I decided to buy a pair of NW season tickets as they had a very good home schedule that included Michigan, OSU, MSU among others. Think I sold my OSU tickets for a hundred more than I spent for the entire season. Not a bad idea depending on the rest of their schedule.

well son-of-a.....

Ok, forget the SEC part, it's a meaningless detail. My post is still clever and needs to be discussed. The top two quarterbacks coming out of HS two years in a row transfer from a southern school to a big ten school. That's pretty odd.

yeah, friend of mine went to school with him at NW and they are still close friends. She said he's a really great guy and I have no reason to not believe her.

So continuing this former #1 HS ranked QB transferring from the SEC to the BigTen who ends up with Trevor Lawrence? I'm going with Indiana.

06/03/2018 - 7:39pm I along with a fellow mgoblog

I along with a fellow mgoblog poster have gone a few times as we also live very close. I went down yesterday late morning hoping that catch some of it but I think they hit the field in the afternoon which I couldn't make because of an event. Today at a graduation so wasn't able to go today either.

It's a cool event to have in our backyard.

ahh sons of bitches. when I was there in 2002 that wasn't the case. We could walk right into that castle. Also wanted to point out it's not a 4 hour train ride, looks like there is  2.5 hour option.

05/14/2018 - 5:52pm I was going to mention the

I was going to mention the Kunstpark Ost area but thought I'd double check it first. Apparently that area is now called Kultfabrik. It's the biggest nightlife area in Munich. I spent a week there one night.…

Also, not sure if you have time for a day trip, but this is an absolute must if you have time. The Neuschwanstein Castle in Füssen is fantastic. It's a 4 hour train ride away though so it would be a full day trip.

what does "out damn spot" mean?

05/10/2018 - 8:59pm Not grad school, but I

Not grad school, but I transferred in for undergrad and lost a ton of Credits. I'm guessing it will be the same. Grad school seems even more specific so I'm willing to bet it won't be good news.

05/09/2018 - 2:36pm I posted an article in the

I posted an article in the paper out here a bit ago about three local kids going to Michigan. I wasn’t paying much attention to the season but when I heard a few freshmen were contributing I assumed it was these kids. Turns out none of them have played much this year, other freshmen are playing quite a bit though.

Things seem to bode well considering how talented and large this last class is.

I'm big on craft beer. So I try to find a nice restaurant with good selection. Always sit at the bar for dinner and try the local IPA(s).

05/07/2018 - 10:37pm This is probably accurate.

This is probably accurate. Not sure anything has changed regarding Stanford for him. I'd sure as well have a hard time turning down Stanford to be honest.

What did you net?

05/02/2018 - 10:53am Yep, that caught my attention

Yep, that caught my attention as well. I lived in MoJo sophomore year. Two Long Island freshman girls got assigned a North campus dorm. They paid two girls in MoJo $10,000 to switch dorms at the beginning of the year. Was just telling this story to someone yesterday.

04/27/2018 - 10:09pm DT from Fort Hays State

DT from Fort Hays State drafted a bit ago, Hurst still on the board.

04/26/2018 - 10:22am Well UNCWolverine beat Saddi

Well UNCWolverine beat Saddi in 1992. My high school team played Sexton in summer ball before our senior year. I remember hearing a lot about him before we played, but we were able to get the best of him that day. I’ve never mentioned this before but this post seemed like a good time to throw it out there.

I have to be honest I was a bit skeptical when he was hired, but what a great move by Beilein. Go blue.

04/09/2018 - 4:35pm Been in socal for 13 years so

Been in socal for 13 years so tough to beat. Flying back there now after four days in Napa/Sonoma, I'd be fine living up here as well. Weather not as nice but so beautiful and chill.

Nope, probably not. The things that would motivate our mostly rational minds and what motivatea 17 year old's decisions have proven to be light years away from each other. I expect nothing to change regardless of what Beilein has done in player development and March success.

I was there in 2013 and at the FF in 2008 and pretty sure they didn't sell beer.

Why did you thank the security/staff at Staples? Did something out of the ordinary happen?

03/22/2018 - 10:45pm Brought a non-sports fan date

Brought a non-sports fan date to the game. Before we got out of the Uber at Staples I said, "prepare yourself for a fuck ton of Michigan fans". She asked, "a fuck ton?". I replied, "yep".

We walked into yard house for a beer about 90 minutes before the game. She looked at me and said, " there are a FUCK TON of Michigan fans here".

It was fantastic. Madison Square Garden West.

I hope their applications plummet. Because nothing else seems to be getting their attention.

03/19/2018 - 6:20pm no, different section.

no, different section.

Going to be fun to watch from a suite I think. Ours should be mostly all Michigan fans so that will be fun.

03/19/2018 - 5:45pm I'll be there. Out crew

I'll be there. Out crew actually got suite tickets on StubHub. No food or drink included but it will be nice to all sit/stand together in a suite with couches, TV's, etc.

Looks like still quite a few suite tickets available. They are a bit pricey but I think well worth the convenience.

03/19/2018 - 5:43pm As pointed out StubHub has a

As pointed out StubHub has a day of ticket office a few blocks from Staples. So just look for tickets that have "pick up" as an option.

03/18/2018 - 7:45pm 4 games?

4 games?

03/14/2018 - 3:27pm Good for him. I’m actually in

Good for him. I’m actually in a lot of Achilles’ tendon related surgeries. In fact I’m in the OR right now waiting for one to start.

An Achilles tear is very common obviously and low risk repair. But when it gets infected and begins to necrotize that’s where you have to worry. Your entire foot and leg could be 100% healthy. But there are few options to replace an Achilles’ tendon. Amputation as he mentioned is usually the next step, no pun intended.

I’m still trying to figure out what all of this has to do with the Long Beach State baseball team...

03/09/2018 - 11:29am hey bud, cool to see you here

hey bud, cool to see you here as well. You like my pic? Ha. That was a Bud Barnes special that went into our local paper. I like that you can see the Cardinals in the background, he framed it very well. Think we did about 10 takes of that dunk before he said he got it right. Had no idea until it hit the paper.

yes you did, we couldn't have done any of that without a few of you juniors, and the soph, contributing as well. You guys really stepped up with some big 3s for us.

Wow, that was 25 fugging years ago!! Crazy how time flies by. Take care man.
