May have been a foregone…

May have been a foregone conclusion no matter what happened with Howard.

He'll be at the top of the portal rankings I would assume. High-major college PG with 2 years of starter experience and probably not a flight risk after one year? I'm sure a lot of programs will be lining up for his services.

Dug most likely will now be given more NIL money and the threat of academic suspension will be non-existent. Pretty much a no-brainer on his end.

I remember reading reports…

I remember reading reports that he was the fastest player on the team. Good luck to wherever the road leads him next! Just remember that you will always be known, simply known as a "national champion"

QB will not be settled in…

QB will not be settled in the spring, but we will at least have a good guess if it is a 2 or 3 man race.

Tuttle offers the steadiest hand of the group but his floor and ceiling basically are the same: that's 2021 Cade with probably a little bit more mobility.

Denegal probably offers similar, but if he shows the same or a bit more as a passer, I think he could jump Tuttle.

Orji is the highest ceiling by a long shot but also the lowest floor. I would imagine the staff is hoping for him to be the guy, but what worries me is the same thing that worried me with Milton: accuracy. We haven't had the chance to see it at the college level aside from spring games, so there is hope. I just am always wary of a QB who was not a super accurate passer in HS suddenly "getting it" in college.

The starter most likely won't be announced until probably the week of the Fresno St game. I do think they need to be sold on a guy by then. With Texas being Week 2, they can't have a 2022-style in-season competition.

The safe bet right now is Tuttle. The sleeper is Denegal. And the hope is Orji. I wouldn't put any real stock/hope in a transfer coming in after Spring Ball. The only plausible possibilities would be a high level guy like Milroe or Manning which I put the chances of that at <1%.

Granted it is Moore's team…

Granted it is Moore's team now and he was running Harbaugh's team on short notice in Happy Valley, but this was a guy who did not go YOLO with a possible Top-5 pick at QB; actually did the complete offense. Highly doubtful he goes that route with any QB next year

I would have to say that one…

I would have to say that one win that accounted for 12.5% of our season total was worth way more than that!

And on another note, I’ll…

And on another note, I’ll semi thread-jack to give a shout out to another group of champions. My wife’s alma mater, Lincoln High School in Warren, MI became the first public school from the city of Warren to win a basketball state championship today.

As a product of South Warren (though attended HS on the north side) I am so proud for my hometown and community that has had a lot of struggles and it has been decimated in a lot of ways; but the community has been lifted and rallied around this team.

So hey, my mgowife and I both have alma maters as the best of the best in their sports this year so we’re happy in the Q house for a while!

Who even is the “next guy(s)…

Who even is the “next guy(s) up” for 2025? For the last few years (exception of 2022 draft) we have basically known who will be the #1 pick in the next draft already. We all knew Lawrence would go #1 a year prior, same for Bryce Young or Stroud in 2023, and Williams in 2024.

I can’t even think of who it may be? Is it really Sheduer Sanders as the clear cut top QB for next years draft?

His mind was made up 6…

His mind was made up 6 months ago. He's coming back.

You know, it looked like it…

You know, it looked like it could go poorly early on, but I have to say, Coach Moore really did assemble what looks to be a really good staff.

Drink Bud Ice but...beware…

Drink Bud Ice but...beware of the penguins.

Thank you for that. It took me back to the 1997 Stanley Cup Finals where that Ad campaign was played nearly every commercial break.

Hillman was lo

Hillman was lost a little in coverage in his few snaps but his closing speed and tackling looked akin to freshman Rod Moore. And we all know how that turned out. Zeke Berry also was one of the highest rated players in his class. We will be good at safety in 2025 and beyond. I wouldn’t mind Q-Jo though. Kid was a PTP with his play vs OSU and the fumble forcing in the Rose Bowl (honestly that play probably saved the game).

It would be beneficial to…

It would be beneficial to the players if there was an advisory board just like there is in the NBA where players could test the waters, receive a draft grade, and then make their final decision.

Probably the most underrated…

Probably the most underrated quality JJ has is his 3rd down conversion %. There rarely was a case where it would be 3rd and obvious passing down where I wasn't pretty confident that JJ would pick up the first down either by his arm or his legs. We had so many big plays on 3rd down this season. I know it was never a close game but against MSU early he converted multiple 3rd and longs. The Tyler Morris TD was on 3rd down in the Rose Bowl and the Roman Wilson TD vs OSU was also on 3rd and long.

At the NFL level, what is most valuable about JJ's mobility is his ability to extend the play and keep looking down field. He throws very well on the run too especially when rolling to his right. Caleb Williams has that ability too and he looks more "Mahomes-esque" when doing it so I think that is why he has so much buzz. But objectively speaking, I don't see one particular thing as a passer that Williams, Maye, or Daniels does definitively better than JJ.

I thought that they showed…

I thought that they showed tremendous class by one: not taping Seth McLaughlin to the goal post and leaving him there.

That was actually 6 years…

That was actually 6 years ago today!

Just as a lot of people on…

Just as a lot of people on here have shared similar experiences but I too had/have a right ankle that was a sprain magnet. The last time it occurred was in my mid-20’s when I was playing some mid-level adult travel basketball. It was without a doubt the worst one I ever sustained and it took 3-4 months where I felt comfortable doing things I did before (I was able to play at a about 6 weeks, but was so cautious).

As echoed earlier, ever since this last injury now years and years later, my ankle seems immune to spraining. I have had many rolls where I expected to fall down, but I didn’t. When I do movements with it, I do feel a strain feeling, but not painful. Hopefully with some good RICE you can be back to normal and have the new bionic ankle experience.

Can we declare a Covid…

Can we declare a Covid outbreak and just let everyone out of their misery?

He will be just like Drew…

He will be just like Drew Lock in the NFL

He still employs Saddi doesn…

He still employs Saddi doesn’t he?

I can't hold any blame…

I can't hold any blame really to JB at all and that may be my own bias clouding some objectivity. He left the new coach (who ended up being Howard) with a super experienced PG who had led a team to the national championship game, and an experienced big. It wasn't JB's fault that Poole and Iggy bolted. Matthews also left with a year of eligibility remaining. The only reason Franz even considered UM is because of Beilein.

Thanks for ruining one of…

Thanks for ruining one of the last pure tradition-rich sport in America. Hope the fat cats enjoy more caviar and truffle

I read an article earlier…

I read an article earlier this year stating that "Tyreek Hill announces engagement to longtime girlfriend." In the second paragraph of the article it states "Hill fathered 3 children in 2023; none of which with his now-current fiancee."

Well documented POS does…

Well documented POS does another POS thing to a woman. More at 11!

This is about as valuable as…

This is about as valuable as the message I received from AT&T stating they will reduce my monthly bill by a whole $5 this billing cycle due to the outage.

In seriousness though, I've liked Dug as a player and I thought his trajectory seemed pretty good at the beginning of the year. He struck me as one of those 4 year guys who by the time they reach their senior year, they are in national awards discussions. I was thinking of a guy like Frank Mason at Kansas as a comparison. A player who played a lot of basketball and probably didn't project to the NBA, but would be a top-level college PG. Unfortunately for us, he may still do that but more than likely will do that elsewhere. There will be a heck of a market for his services. He is an experienced college PG from a major conference who probably is a 2-year player for a new team. That is something that a ton of teams will be in the market for, and they can confidently tell him that there will not be any academic concerns to worry about.

Just imagine Henry on the…

Just imagine Henry on the 2016 DL. Our "weak link" in the two deep was Godin at DT. Had we had Henry our 2-deep would have been:

Wormley-Glasgow-Henry-Charlton

Gary-Hurst-Mone-Winovich

I do have a lot of respect for Henry though. In the summer of 2017 I was at the 12 mile Walmart in Warren (anyone who has been there knows it can be a quite...eccentric place even for Walmart standards). Henry was there with a group of around 20 teenage kids and another 10 younger special needs kids and he was having them fill up shopping carts for school shopping. He wasn't there with any PR, wasn't wearing anything Ravens; just had a Michigan hoodie on and was helping the kids make sure they had everything they needed. I then saw him walk up to the cash register and hand the manager standing there his card. I spoke with him briefly. Real jovial guy.

I'm not sure I would trade…

I'm not sure I would trade many careers for the one of Chad Henne. After losing the job in Miami he was able for over a decade to just be "the guy trusted to come in if there is an emergency, but never good enough that the fans will want to bench the starter for." His body took way less hits than most players with that longevity and he is set for life at 40 with a ring on both fingers. Sign me up for that!

As far as pure talent as a…

As far as pure talent as a WR who looked to project perfectly to the NFL, I'm not sure we have had a better athlete at that position than Terrell. He was an absolute freak before we really focused on people being "freaks." The fact that he never amounted to anything was extremely surprising.

UCONN should go to the Big…

UCONN should go to the Big 12. It’s a basketball conference anyway, and they’ll finally give West Virginia a geographical neighbor

The "most important play" of…

The "most important play" of the season probably has to be the 4th down pass to Corum. Without that play, we are looking at a >95% loss probability. It was the only real "do or die" play we faced all season. As far as overall, I'd put the Moore INT at the top, but even in that scenario, OSU still needed to score to win the game. The Corum (and to a lesser extent the Wilson catch) occurred when we were in do or die mode.

In 2022, our real "do or die" moments only occurred twice: The Gash 4th down catch and the Moody FG. 2021 had quite a bit more with a few moments vs Nebraska and of course All vs Penn St.

Apparently there are the …

Apparently there are the “Edey Rules”.

All things considered, one of the best games the team has looked all conference season.

Deciding between watching…

Deciding between watching this game or clean the grout in the bathroom. Currently it’s 50-50 what I choose.

I’ve always been intrigued…

I’ve always been intrigued about how he was the most successful OC for a good portion of the past decade with KC, and never even was given a shot as a HC. I understand he had the best QB in the NFL and Andy Reid is the mastermind behind everything, but usually the coordinator of the best offense or defense at least is given a shot some where.

I don’t know man, my…

I don’t know man, my children’s chocolate skin is pretty magnificent. Imagine taking 3 pieces of Hershey’s milk chocolate and 1 piece of white chocolate and mixing them together. I’ll argue my children’s chocolate beauty vs anyone.

With the way the team and…

With the way the team and coaching staff is currently constructed, there is not a conceivable way that roster you listed will be any good at all. Yes, individually they have some okay pieces. This isn't 2008 Beilien first year where it was Manny Harris, Sims, and no one else who was even a scholarship level B1G player. Dug is a good college PG, but he almost certainly goes elsewhere next year where he will be an experienced college PG who no longer has to worry about academics. Burnett is okay; not really a starter on a functional team. Tschetter would be a good 8-10 minute guy who can stretch and provide some offense and you take what you're given with his defensive liabilities. Reed has not developed at all, and I'm starting to think he just is what he is. Someone like Nkamhoua who will not be back next year is a nice player for sure. I would have taken him over Houstan in 21-22 and Jett in 22-23, but he really served no purpose on this disaster of a team.

When the team's whole is less than a sum of its parts, that is the clearest sign of a coaching deficiency, and our current head man in charge has shown zero signs of being able to change that. That has been the case for the past 3 seasons.

This Boo Buie guy on…

This Boo Buie guy on Northwestern is pretty good. I’m bummed we’ll have to play him for the next 3 years

Say that we win the first…

Say that we win the first two, that will give us a Bye, and the team we play in the quarterfinals could be OSU. So there is a not that out-of-the-box scenario that we could play OSU in 3 straight games

With the new CCG qualifiers,…

With the new CCG qualifiers, imagine a scenario where Michigan and OSU are like they were the last two years: both 11-0. Pretty much in all circumstances both teams are in the playoff already at 11-0. So they could play potentially: Regular Season, the following week in the CCG, and then in the quarterfinals. So say we beat OSU in the regular season, and the CCG, and then after our bye we play again: OSU.

That is supremely stupid. All of this could be solved with 4 super conferences and the Conference champ of each goes to the playoffs. That makes the CCGs a quarterfinal game in the conference footprint, and then no rematches, no byes, just conference champions in the playoffs.

But alas, that makes too much sense.

I agree that NBC production…

I agree that NBC production for B1G games did feel quite a bit "off." It felt too much like a ND game with Michigan and B1G stuff cut and pasted all over it. Noah Eagle I think could get there as a good PBP guy, but he is not there yet. His father, Ian, is one of the best voices in the game and I think the absolute best that CBS has for March Madness.

The B1G on CBS felt even odder but that was only for the UNLV game. It got to the point that when the Playoffs were on ABC/ESPN that even that felt funky. Basically I've grown use to Fox/BTN's style and everything else just strikes as second tier.

I do not see any way that he…

I do not see any way that he would. I recall him playing quite a bit at LB early in 2021.

I would be pleasantly…

I would be pleasantly shocked if Dug is still at Michigan next year. He’s a talented experienced college PG. He could go to a number of schools and not worry about having to miss half of the conference road games.

He’s a great example of not…

He’s a great example of not feeling sorry for yourself and making the most out of what you have. He was playing great in ‘16 and had all the makings of a top-3 round LT. He stuck with the program and now at age 26 he has a BA and a MPP along with a position coach under the best OL coach in America. What a story that is still in its early chapters

Detroit legend.

A lot of…

Detroit legend.

A lot of memories of his voice in my childhood. My family had one car growing up: a 1988 Dodge Caravan with only AM radio. All that was ever on the radio was WDFN and my dad loved Stoney and Wojo. A long and respected career.

What is amazing is that in…

What is amazing is that in 2021 MHJ was on the roster (along with Egbuka and Fleming) and couldn’t see the field. He actually played one snap in 2021 vs us. Based on how he performed in the Rose Bowl a month later and how he looked out of the gate in ‘22, it wasn’t a case of “freshman WR suck” or “not ready” he just was behind 3 WRs who at that point in 2021 in college could have started on any NFL team.

Could you imagine having a WR like MHJ as a freshman and him not seeing the field because of the talent ahead of him. We were playing little jitterbug 3* Semaj Morgan in crunch time this year as a true freshman.

And alas, it wasn’t about the Maserati or Louis V, it was about the toughness and that’s why guys like Rod Moore have almost an entire hand filled with rings, and Harrison Jr, Stroud, Henderson, JTT, Burke, and many others have hands with no jewelry that matters on them.

The more I look the more I’m…

The more I look the more I’m impressed.

Maybe unpopular but I think Parker could bring all that Bellamy brings as far as recruiting and maybe an increase in coaching (and I really respect Ron$

I was really pulling for…

I was really pulling for Corey Parker.

He gave a phenomenal presentation at the clinic in Lansing. I had my outspoken reservations about him when he was at River Rouge, but he is the real deal and it is showing at the college level. That is nothing against Adegoke, who may be just as good or better, but I think we missed out on a potential fast riser in the coaching ranks in Parker.

It is an upgrade from Tommy…

It is an upgrade from Tommy Rees.

Despite our complaints and quite honestly sympathy for Nick Sheridan (just didn't have the physical tools to be successful as a D-1 starting QB), at least he never fumbled the ball without any contact happening to him. That alone is good enough to put him above Turnover Tommy

As a graduate of the School…

As a graduate of the School Social Work at U-M and their dual-program in anthropology, trust me that they have well shall I say a "vast network" of field placements all throughout Michigan and even in southern Indiana and Ohio. Also, leaving the #1 Social Work school in the world for the last 25 years to go to...OSU? Can't see why one would do that.

We actually had about half a dozen OSU undergrads in my graduating class because "this program is just too good."

I guess it is a built in …

I guess it is a built in "mandatory timeout" to flip the field and...have a media timeout.

Home Run hire. Good work…

Home Run hire. Good work Moore.

I'm a little more bullish on Wink than a lot here, but I have to say even if there are reservations there, the moves Moore has been able to make have all been good so far. Campbell I think is a young star in the offensive game planning department, Newsome has been touted for his growth and potential since he joined the staff, Wink is an architect and he has the personnel to be able to step in and run his system like Don Brown did in '16, and lastly this Scruggs hire is the best of the bunch.

Shut up Romo. Mahomes may…

Shut up Romo. Mahomes may make it to Brady level, but…7>3. Also, Brady in his 40’s beat Mahomes
