Big win IMO. Love the return to the block #s and similar look to the 90s uniforms. And it will always be a debate, but I always liked the black jersey even though they were never good while they wore it last.

Black in my mind has become like white - for most teams, a generic accent/contrast uniform. Its better than a gray jersey I guess. But I think unless you kinda commit all in to black, like the raiders and steelers and Texas Tech - it feels very generic to wear a black jersey.

Looks great, but dilutes your identity. Same is true of white alternates (Cleveland most notably).

Lions should wear blue. Maybe black against other blue teams, and even then on the road and against light blue teams - so, the chargers. Otherwise it's meh.

I like the change overall. Block numbers are a win and there's no WCF on the sleeve anymore! They look CLEEEEAN again. Blue face mask is solid, too.

I'd like to see the white jerseys paired with the silver pants - not the blue or white pants.

I'm not sold on the black/ black combo - especially with the blue helmet with the black logo.

Teams that do black well

NFL - raiders, steelers...ravens? Bengals

NBA - heat. Magic? AI era sixers

NHL - LA, bruins. (Not LV, they're cool but their unis and name are generic)

Baseball - nobody. We need more colorful uniforms like the 70s, but at least the hats and socks should be colorful. The white sox have worn black for a generation. That nickname is infamous. They could pull off white sox and black pants (but itll prolly be hot). But yea black is mostly lame on rhe diamond.

College - maybe TT, makes me think of crabtree. Colorado and Purdue and Iowa too. Thats about it.

I wish the numbers (along with names on the back) stayed silver on the home uniform but with the new font. Could’ve done without the “DETROIT” on the away whites. Like San Diego Mick said above, I hope they don’t wear black often; it gives too many mid aughts Lions vibes. I also liked the silver on the face mask. Overall it went better than most uniform redesigns usually go so I’ll just get used to it.

Overall, I love the look; especially the home jerseys. The classic look and the nod to the true “Honolulu Blue” is great.

I do have a couple of issues.
1. The word mark on the away Jersey is not necessary. I am very opposed to home and away jerseys not being identical other than the colors (I’ve always been against the sleeve stripes on our White jerseys and the numbers being on the shoulder instead of the arm).

2. Black Jersey is sharp. Blue helmet looks great with it. I just would have liked the logo to be white instead of black.

The block numbers are blah to me. The numbers they were wearing the past few years look much better. The best thing about the black uniforms are the new alternate helmets. Those were the best thing about the new reveal.

Their solid - though I already thought their existing jerseys were great and in the upper tier of recent jersey upgrades.

Not really a big fan of the black jersey/blue helmet, though. However, seeing it in-game will probably be a massive upgrade than just seeing it in weirdly-lit promotional pics.

I just hate that Nike keeps putting team names/cities in huge letters on the front of nearly every jersey they redesign. It started with their disastrous Cleveland redesign about 8-9 years ago and they keep doing it.

As an aficionado of proper NFL aesthetics...I must say they are sharp. Just wish the helmet stripe was more traditional and they lost the awkwardly sized word marks on the alternates. I guess Nike designers only have so much restraint.

Can't wait for my Packers to destroy your souls while you wear them.

Meh.  Ditch the "LIONS" and "DETROIT" atop the uniforms and they'd be better.  Putting the name of the team/city on the jersey is cheesy and reminds me of high school.   If your jersey is properly designed, it will stand out without that.

I'm not a fan of the black kits (in other news:  Get off my lawn), but after I read that Coach Danny personally asked for them when he got the gig, made me think again.  Looks like kneecaps are back on the menu, boys!  The Blue helmet pops with it.  RIP WCF sleeve.

signif upgrade, well done.  about 90% of the '90's uni's, which were the best.

now bring back the original lion silhouette.  the one now is okay, but why do that when you had perfection.

I'm not a fun of the black but I wasn't a fan of the black either.  I like what Michigan has done in recent years and mixing up color rather than resorting to alt unis.

the home and aways look good but i dont think black jerseys work if it isn't part of your primary colors. We need to leave the black jersey obsession in 2010.

I think they knocked it out of the park.  The only thing I would change is making the white away jersey with the silver pants.  And no these look nothing like the Carolina Panthers, not even close.

Normally, I'd agree on that. I'm sad that the teal craze swept up my parents house and I still have to look at 30 year old teal carpets.

But the black and blue combination works for me for special games like MNF. I really hope they stick to tradition on Thanksgiving with the throwback uniforms. Those should never go away.
