It's like assembling houses and hotels in Monopoly, trying to get an effective assortment  and hoping not to lose (have to sell) any, while trying to block others from their own effective assortment.

OR change to a base-9 system instead of a base-10 system, and boast that Michigan was the first to 9 hockey championships.

OR simply boast that Michigan was the first to 9 hockey championships.

OR boast how many national championships Michigan has.

OR not worry about quantity and appreciate the quality of Michigan in so many fields.

Against my better judgment, I checked out the site.

 In addition to content, aesthetically it's symbolically apt: everything they see is black and white, visually and conceptually, plus red for anger.

As I understand geography, I believe Florida is on the East Coast. 

But I may be wrong about that. 

Without  my glasses, I read "Michigan still team building on a budget" as "Michigan still team building on a burger" and thought, Here we go again....

I just met Liam Neeson the other day. (He's a good friend of a good friend of mine.) If I see him again, I'll ask him.

Did I read right, that May now has assistants from the East Coast, the Midwest, and the West Coast. Nice geographic spread.

Your example IS chock FULL of guff. Absolutely.

I'm guessing the refs allow it because the TV overlords think it's "good TV"—i.e., gets more people excited watching on TV.

Fans of the asshole coach like to see "spirit" in their coach, and opposing fans get pissed off. I.e., both are excited. 

It's the same thing for students acting weird. On TV, it reads as "spirit." In real life, it used to be weird but now we've been accustomed to seeing it so it seems normal.

I just replied to another post above that the experience in NYC was okay but the bonus was spending time with my son.

New York was similar, except ours was like a cloudy day. I had a direct comparison because it was cloudy. Fortunately, it was lightly cloudy before so we got to see the view changing but then it was mostly cloudy.

Bonus for me, getting to spend an hour-plus hanging out with my son.

Cool. One of the many benefits of MGoBlog is getting to know people, at least semi-sorta-kinda know people. 

Speaking of Albany and baseball, when my family was moving from the Midwest, coming along the northern route, I found a minor league game near Albany and we stopped to break up our trip.
