01/20/2019 - 12:01am I don’t have any inside…

don’t have any inside information either, but I’d guess that Harbaugh wanted to bring his guys in to run the show. He may have felt some obligation to Mattison due to family loyalty/recognizing that he is a good coach. Durkin took that same talent and made a top 20 D into a top 10. Brown took that top 10 and turned it to a top 5.

There was nothing special going on.  Mattison was solid, but Harbaugh could get better, so he did.

I think it’s kinda cool that this is one of the  few  coaching changes that pisses Michigan fans off as much as OSU fans

01/17/2019 - 10:29pm I think there is some merit…

I think there is some merit to this point. Unfortunately it gets harder to recruit those guys the more we lose. It’s why Harrison was so shook after the game.  You don’t want to be an Ohio boy that defects to Michigan, only to lose for 3 years and have to spend the rest of his life with family members saying “told ya so”.

I can’t believe this needs to be pointed out, but here we go...

Charles is a football expert and Michigan legend who responded thoughtfully and tactfully to a direct question.

This is in contrast to many people here who 1) say stupid and inflammatory shit like “Shea is terrible” or “Harbaugh is an abject failure” 2) tirelessly rag on one player 3) bring up the same fucking point that has already been discussed a thousand times.

So ya. He gets a praised for discussing the lack of emphasis when questioned about it, and some internet dipshit will get negged for posting the same topic the 100th time on mgoblog.

looked like the ball had a pretty decent spin towards the baseline, which is why it bounced that way.

12/29/2018 - 10:06pm I’ve said this in many…

I’ve said this in many threads the past 2 years. The trips are a recruiting gimmic. Michigan hasn’t won anything in a long time, so Harbaugh is looking at creative ways to lure top notch recruits. First it was the camps, then they got shut down. Now it’s the trips. It’s an added bonus for our team.  Something that lures players, since we haven’t won’t any sort of title in a long long time.

It doesn’t make the players soft. No one is taking a down off because they are taking a trip in a few months. There are many valid criticisms of Harbaugh and his coaching staff, but this is not one of them.

12/17/2018 - 9:37pm No one here wants Aubrey to…

No one here wants Aubrey to leave. Everyone agrees that his departure will negatively affect our DL to some degree. This is not what people are mocking, and it’s pretty obvious.

He's Schrodinger's recruit.  He's committed both michigan and alabama until an inside guy observes him, then he becomes solidly committed.

I've noticed a few short balls, so I won't argue with that point. But where in the world do you get arrogant?  He's seemed very level headed and humble in every interview I've seen.

I never said that it had nothing to do with it. I’m sure it didn’t help, but I don’t think that it is the main reason for the flip.  I don’t have any inside info, so who knows

11/25/2018 - 8:48pm Not really.

Not really.

11/25/2018 - 8:44pm possibly. Not saying that…

possibly. Not saying that the flu only exists in Michigan, but Infectious outbreaks occur in pockets especially in people that share close quarters. That’s a pretty easy concept for a person to understand

11/25/2018 - 6:13pm Here's my theory:  Since…

Here's my theory:  Since before the Indiana game there were reports of the flu going around.  If it truly was influenza some of the symptoms like weakness and malaise can last up to two weeks.  Maybe he was rotating guys because they were fatiguing easier than normal.  This is also my theory about why the d-line had such a drastic decline starting with the Indiana game.

Also please note that this theory isn't an excuse.  I think we had an absolute shit game plan, and OSU played lights out.

11/25/2018 - 2:42pm 1) Chris Evans had 3…

1) Chris Evans had 3 receptions yesterday and 17 on the year.

2) I'd guess it buys us time, and lets our receivers run their routes.

3) Very very worrisome.

4) No one really knows.

I think it comes down to the 'body shot' philosophy of this offense.  We want to pound the gut and wear them out in the second half, which will allow for a more successful run game.  It's basically using the run to open up the run.

11/25/2018 - 1:58pm I agree that we have those…

I agree that we have those game breakers, and DPJ is the first one that comes to mind.  But isn't "not using them well" a function of Pep?  Why isn't he scheming to get our receivers open in space like OSU? Why are there so many 3rd/4th down plays that are thrown to a receiver 1-2 yards behind the goal/first down marker?

11/24/2018 - 7:27pm Exactly.  The play calling…

Exactly.  The play calling is a mess, probably due to the committee structure.  It leads to a slow offense that doesn't look to be prepared to run the plays.

11/24/2018 - 7:07pm I hope that Jim has learned…

I hope that Jim has learned from this, and realizes that it's time to restructure his offensive staff and coaching hierarchy.  I'm concerned about the lack of a hurry up offense, the 'debacle' from the last game, and how frequently we have to burn time outs because our offense isn't set for the plays.  If I had to guess, these are all symptoms of the 'coaching by committee' where several people are pitching plays to Harbaugh and he makes the final decision.  That just doesn't seem to be an efficient use of time.

11/24/2018 - 6:35pm I don't know if I'd say…

I don't know if I'd say great, but it was pretty damned good.  There were a lot of great moments, and I had a lot of fun watching this team play most of the season.

This move by MSU was an attempt to intimidate and/or illicit a physical response from our players.  Despite MSU making physical contact by red rovering, and ripping off headphones our players did not respond physically.

Bushs response was smart, and he used his head. Considering how high his emotions were, he acted brilliantly. He didn’t get bated into a physical alteration like MSU probably wanted. He stood his ground, took the disrespect that MSU gave him, and gave it back to them in a non-physical way.

I 100% condone his actions.
