Agreed. That’s a mistake.  Get him off the field. He was almost hurt when a Nebraska OL illegally blocked him low.

Failing to advance commentary based on actual and current evidence is an affliction of the lazy-including the media and a whole bunch of people on this board.

For those of you who listen to the podcast, what do you think?

09/05/2018 - 12:45pm "... but one wonders how to…

"... but one wonders how to play around this glaring hole in the team?"

That would be an interesting subject for Brian to take on.  Instead we get a rehash of recruiting failures over the past few years, which we all know about.

Didn’t show up on my iPhone, iPad or desktop PC. Another 3.0 fail. It shouldn’t be so hard to be a customer of MGoBlog

09/03/2018 - 1:06pm I feel a little better after…

I feel a little better after watching that video.  Patterson can play.

The absence of big plays continues to be big problem.  I think there were only two shots downfield the entire game.

08/29/2018 - 1:17pm MGoBlog 3.0 and indifference…

MGoBlog 3.0 and indifference (at best) to football by Brian are a couple of the reasons that come to mind.

I think this is a smart move by Frost. They will be better in a couple of years by getting him on the field now.

The outcome of the Battle of Toledo was Ohio got Toledo and Michigan got the UP.

Big win for Michigan.

I will  be very happy if our future battle are as successful

Agree but he disappointed on this issue

Just watched the press conference. Shame on OSU.

08/21/2018 - 8:00pm Same for me.

Same for me.

08/21/2018 - 11:29am No. If new information comes…

No. If new information comes out it likely means Meyer didn’t tell the investigators everything. They will fire him for that.

08/18/2018 - 10:00pm Forget the somewhat strange…

Forget the somewhat strange comments by the player.

This appears to be playing out as it should. Player is (or is about to be) charged with DV and he is immediately suspended once the police charge. Player’s scollie is in place and he is given a chance to fight the allegations, but can’t play in the interim. Final decision awaits judicial process conclusion.

Rational process. Wisconsin has a good track record with player behavior. Let it play out.

Go down there but with a plan. Arrange for him to go see an expert (best case Ciry of Hope in SoCal or equivalent). Make him do it and escort to appointment.

If that doesn’t work spend some time with your friend

Both scenarios are valuable for you and your friend

I have been there on both scenarios. Both the outcomes are okay. I also sat out one situation. I will always regret that.

I have regularly listened to the Harbaugh podcast. He is not going to share much information about the individual players outside of what he says publicly, and to that style he emphasizes the positive about players.

The reason to listen is to get insights about the guy. Anybody who listens will be proud that this guy is our coach. Beyond that you will come to realize that Oakland (or anyone else) is not in play and won’t be.

08/16/2018 - 9:57am Ouch.  Unfortunately sad but…

Ouch.  Unfortunately sad but largely true. The decline in content is very disappointing and worrisome. As a long time regular and grateful visitor to this site I hope the recent troubles and decline can be reversed. The OP’s idea of crowded sourcing transcripts, while well-intentioned no doubt, just highlights the cracks in the foundation around here.

I sincerely hope I will be proven wrong in the months to come.

I love having aaamichfan back in the game (blog) full throttle. I missed that. It makes me even more fired up for this season.

08/08/2018 - 10:27pm This is part of the reason I…

This is part of the reason I think there is more to come.  McMurphy starts his new job in a week or so. You have to think he has saved something to make a big splash at his new gig.

08/08/2018 - 9:50am The likely answer was…

The likely answer was revealed by McMurphy yesterday on the Finebaum show. Finebaum asked the same question and McM referenced Courtney Smith’s comment that if OSU fired him he would “take OSU down with him”. McM said Courtney gave him some of the basis for that threat but that he didn't publish the reasons because he wasn’t able to corroborate the accusations-so far.

In short-Meyer kept Smith on because Smith knows of (and probably assisted) in misbehavior by Meyer.  My guess is payoffs to recruits and/or players, or other personal misbehavior by Meyer. Given the way Meyer and Smith coordinated their stories last week it looks like Smith has cut a deal with Urb to keep quiet-so far. Not so clear that will continue, especially if Courtney starts talking.

08/05/2018 - 7:46pm That list should be…

That list should be forwarded on to Homeland Security and the FBI and checked for outstanding warrants

08/03/2018 - 9:33pm This is the best case for…

This is the best case for Meyer so it makes sense. However, if he walks away (granted, with a lot of money) I think he still becomes toxic to almost every decent job down the road in the same way if he admits that he knowingly kept a wife abuser on his staff. As he games this out he will will decide that the best case is not available. He will roll the dice, coordinate with ZSmith on a story, and GSmith will walk away with a payday, leaving OSU with a rationale for keeping Meyer. If he loses the OSU job he will never coached again. I predict he tries to ride this out "

08/03/2018 - 9:11pm I saw this comment earlier…

I saw this comment earlier. Absolutely superb and on point takedown by McMurphy. Will be interesting to watch McMurphy stay on this story.

Thanks for posting this. As an aside, my experience in the new version is that links in the OP comments do not work. Is that a problem for others?

08/01/2018 - 10:55pm The “failure to report”…

The “failure to report” issue won’t be a problem for Meyer. His boss-Smith-was likely informed. Those two guys are a package deal here. They will concoct a story that saves them both or they both go.

07/29/2018 - 8:32pm Sad thing is Brian already…

Sad thing is Brian already gave us the shoulder shrug. Remember the “Whatever” post after the bowl game?  Everything that has happened on the Blog since then is consistent with that post.

07/28/2018 - 9:41pm Somebody forgot to tell…

Somebody forgot to tell about the “no football content on Saturday if you are a no fee site” rule.  For those interested in information about one of the most important recruiting events of the year just look to the Message Board.

Speaking of support-are you still in “Whatever” mode with respect to Michigan football or has your perspective (and enthusiasm) advanced since the bowl game?

This is a depressing thread.  So many problems still. Sad.

07/16/2018 - 7:43pm Whatever

07/03/2018 - 10:38pm This smells like a story…

This smells like a story planted by Finebaum's agent to get ESPN to step up on finalizing a contract.  I can't imagine BTN would really bring this guy on, especially at the dollars it would take.

When I go to the Blog via iPhone or iPad I get the "transition" version, not the new and improved version.  Anybody else having this problem and how do I fix it for my mobile devices.  If I see that yellow again my head is going to explode

06/01/2018 - 11:41am That was my first game as a student

Love at first sight

06/01/2018 - 11:07am Anthony Carter

Anthony Carter

05/24/2018 - 5:16pm Correct. This is just a way

to get the University to tell him publicly how much they love him and want him to stay which would make it even less possible for them to criticize Izzo for what comes out down the road.

05/21/2018 - 9:28pm Officially the weirdest thread

I have witnessed in my years on this Blog.

04/26/2018 - 1:25am Put all biases aside and you have to

agree that WTF Dantonio? It is sad that a disregard for standards of decency is not punished. In a just world nobody goes to MSU.
By using the “it is up to the players” Dantonio is saying (and orchestrating) a return for this asshole.
It has been talked about on so many levels it is hard to support on any level taking back a racist if the team votes yes. That Dantonio puts it on the then players to speaks volume on how this program has compromised any semblance of integrity.
That Dantonio would even consider this is reprehensible I

04/23/2018 - 9:46pm Beyond the two big lineman, who on

the list is really a “must get” or likely superior to guys we will get from outside the state?

04/19/2018 - 10:09pm Are you suggesting

that Ingram county (MSU) wasn’t trying to transfer this problem elsewhere? It is akin to cities like LA that give people who show up at emergency rooms a free ride to another hospital. This was about protecting MSU.

04/19/2018 - 9:27pm An under reported part of this whole story

is the apparent corruption of the entire justice system in that county. Beyond the failure to investigate, undercharge, prosecute etc of several cases of crimes, now you have a judge, with the wink of the prosecutors, saying sure, you are okay to get back to college as long as you do it elsewhere. Shame on them, and the CC that took him in. Looks like MSU and county decided let’s ship him out and make him someone else’s problem.
Now he stands trial in Kansas and his crimes at MSU get buried.

04/17/2018 - 9:12pm I suspect that he was off the team for rules

violations or some other matter not yet resolved. He was probably given conditions to live by with a chance for reinstatement if satisfied. He didn’t satisfy those conditions (or a prior matter couldn’t be resolved) and they said goodbye.
The facts will come out.

04/13/2018 - 7:51pm Second luckiest

04/13/2018 - 12:15am Of course it was

Be real. The better question is whether it impacted on field performance. That is not so clear
