Agree with this. First, fuck ND. Second it does us no good to beat ND but it hurts us if we lose. We should never play ND again in the regular season unless they are a member of the Big Ten

So true. Got to believe Harbaugh anticipated this possibility

Please explain how the Lupoi move is a big advancement. Same with the guy who went to GA Tech. Not to mention Gaddis. There is something going on.

01/16/2019 - 8:59pm Why?

Why?

Interesting take. This is true. Maybe Lupoi was up to no good and he is getting out before the allegations come in. I recall that one of Alabama’s key recruiters exited not too long ago right before the shit hit the fan

Edit:  responding to JPC above

01/16/2019 - 8:44pm The exodus of good coaches,…

The exodus of good coaches, many for lateral hires, is a bad look for Alabama. If Saban had won this year I have to think he would have walked away. They are not getting better and the gap is narrowing with the field  I think for the first time in a while the there will be 5+ programs with better records than Alabama over the next five years  Michigan will be one of the five

Double post sorry

01/16/2019 - 8:26pm A.  Has kept Harbaugh and…

A.  Has kept Harbaugh and Beilein happy and on board. Hired A caliber hockey coach. Facilities are first rate. Other sports are more than competitive. No hint of scandal. Big issues handled very well. Everything else is nitpicking

The fact that he is such an asshole has to be the reason he can’t get an NFL job, which he wants badly. It says a lot when the NFL is worried about your bad character

Thanks for the referral. I will check it out. With the exception of a very few guys like you (my thanks to you sir) posting on the Board MGoBlog has very little actual reporting these days.

01/16/2019 - 4:53pm There was a series a few…

There was a series a few years ago where a former player, whose name I have forgotten, contacted former teammates and wrote stories about what they were doing now, the path taken, and some recollections of their time at Michigan.  It was some of the most interesting writing I have seen on this Blog. I would love to see it rejuvenated.

I have a long list but it starts with BPONE f/k/a emo Brian somehow finding a way to find his former constructive but heartfelt love for Michigan football again. His attitude and perspective effects this site in every way and it’s having a negative impact on the blog.

Obviously a great performance. Love this team. Teske and X were especially great tonight. My only complaint is why not more Johns tonight, as well as others  this game was over at halftime  we need to expand the bench  Tonight was a missed opportunity

Remember so long ago when everyone around here was freaking about the Solomon transfer?  I don’t necessarily like it but the world has changed-transfers will become more and more common. Only losing one or two potential starters per year will soon be thought of as a good year

By the way if we shoot free throws at the % few did tonight watch out

Just finished watching the game. Never in doubt. Love this team, team being the operative phrase. Posbsang for the idea that the talent on the team is excellent and the idea that the team as a whole can overcome some of the talent differential come March.

01/10/2019 - 10:22pm Yah, go away

Yah, go away

Because Brian is all about playing the Debbie Downer role when the topic is Michigan football

Exactly correct. Harbaugh is not someone who will sit still while not in first place. I have confidence that we have the right guy at the top

01/10/2019 - 8:23pm Agree on the importance of…

Agree on the importance of keeping Warinner (continuity on the OL is especially important given the time needed to become a good lineman) but Gattis is not a meh hire. Bringing in young and innovative coaches is critical for recruiting and offensive evolution. In addition, adding additional African-Americans to the staff is important as well.

The Harbaugh complainers around here miss the fact that Harbaugh is focused on winning and will change coaches and approach as necessary.  Too slowly maybe, but I have confidence that it happens.

01/10/2019 - 11:04am Ah the good old days when…

Ah the good old days when MGoBlog engaged in reporting and informed speculation about the football program. That doesn’t happen anymore and doesn’t seem to be in the business plan going forward. Sad and in my opinion a big mistake.

01/09/2019 - 12:22am I agree with this.

I agree with this.

01/08/2019 - 4:44pm I think the opposite may be…

I think the opposite may be true. The adage “pick the school, not the coach” is more true than ever given the way coaches move without regard to the impact on their employer or players. As long as players don’t get a get out of jail free card when coaches leave they are betting that school will be able to find coaches that are good teachers and recruiters so as to keep the program moving forward.

I heard USC needs an OC. Send it there as well.

I love this idea. Won’t happen, but I love the idea. He would make a great coach.

If by “fan base” you mean the people who post on this Blog I think you are wrong. My experience is that this place increasingly is not representative of Michigan fans in general.

Naw, kids are too sophisticated for that to work. They all know this is a bs way to avoid the rules, something that they won’t hold against Georgia or Fields

Yeah but overall this has been a great week for Michigan football-from the recruiting results to the Shea announcement.

12/19/2018 - 9:42pm Martell better find how to…

Martell better find how to get into the transfer portal ASAP. Best case is that he leaves and Fields has to sit.

I think OSU picks up Hurts at the end of the day. If I am Martell I hit the road. Day is looking to replace him.

By the way, even if there is no basis whatsoever, I hope-and expect-that “Team Harbaugh” planted this story

12/18/2018 - 7:59pm Wrong again M-Dog. As any…

Wrong again M-Dog. As any Stern listener would know Rickles is Stern’s hero. Their interactions were seldom on-air, and the times they met Stern was completely respectful. I don’t know where you got this one, especially the “I saw it” comment.

12/18/2018 - 7:54pm The Packers can pay whatever…

The Packers can pay whatever they want. The whole “public ownership” thing means nothing-to the contrary execs will be honored if the Packers win. It’s not like they are spending the owner’s money.

That said once again Saban’s agent floats a rumor to get a bump in salary. He will get it and stay at Alabama. I hope, but don’t expect, the media to hound him for a denial.

C’mon Magnus, there is no place for facts and rational perspective around here these days.

I would definitely take this trade-Harrison for Hill and Johnson-all day long.

The point isn’t to punish him but to save the rest of us the aggravation he creates. Would make for a better environment for all of us.

Not to mention a day or so before signing day. He could have waited until next week.

12/17/2018 - 4:26pm Trending in the wrong…

Trending in the wrong direction?  What bs. 8 wins vs 10-11 this year.  Top 10 or better recruiting class vs around 20 last year. Everything is a negative overreaction around here.

That 4.6 is about as believable as the 420 bench he claims

Are there a lot of alligators in the Crystal Lake, Illinois area?

12/17/2018 - 9:23am Weber had a better sophomore…

Weber had a better sophomore year but Higdon outgained Weber by almost 700 yards the last two years. Weber, who had a decent career, was injury prone and seemed to plateau. Higdon got better every year.

12/16/2018 - 4:54pm It’s all about speed these…

It’s all about speed these days. He needs to put on weight but it looks like the days af the 6-3, 6-4 ILB are almost over. Only a few of the top 25 ILB recruits in the rivals rankings is more than 6-2.
