Hats off to Brady

505 yds. 3 td. May be the last time we see the GOAT in the Super Bowl. Good thing the next Lions HC just got 41 hung on him by a backup. The human meatball sub is going to return Detroit to their rightful spot at the bottom of the NFC. Brady deserved better today...

Brady was spectacular. If New Englands defense didn't get owned, we would be talking about Brady knocking Jordan off the perch as the greatest player in sports history.

Brady did not and has never had control over how his defense plays. Talking about a player's legacy in terms of how others perform their jobs is one of team sports' most celebrated fallacies. Conversations about rings and titles are meaningless. Who wins is ultimately decided by a dizzying number of variables and a considerable amount of luck. Use individual statistics over team stats like title wins.

That illegal contact on the other receiver getting drilled 20 yards downfield gets called every other play during the year.

Illegal contact, another throw to the end zone.

Didn't really have a strong rooting interest in the game but I thought that was atrocious.  As we're all painfully aware, the Hail Mary is often successful when a tipped ball is caught by an unintended receiver.  The DB on that play was deliberately removing Hogan from the equation, and it definitely should have been called.

Unfortunately his game plan was just what the lions have been my entire life of 53 years. Swiss cheese. That was weak with two weeks to prepare. Brady on the other hand played well despite a mad rush and being down one receiver. He’s still the GOAT in my book

that throw was not acurate. The #80 thrower (too short) did not set his foot when throwing the ball, so the ball sail a little bit. On the other ealges trick play. the TE 88 is tall enough that set his foot firm when throw and deliver a perfect ball for Foles to catch.

The broadcasters, especially Collins, desperately wanted a Foles > Brady story all night.

We were going to get one no matter what transpired.

If it wasn't the Foles catch, it would have been how much better he handed off to his RBs, or some other drivel like that.

Brady was great tonight and so was Foles. Neither D played well but the quarterback play was fantastic both ways. The Pats had the 5th ranked defense in terms of points allowed this season (which IMO is the most important defensive statistic...yards mean nothing if you don't let other teams score TDs). If you want to say Patricia had a bad game today, fine. But his teams have ranked 9, 10, 8, 10, 1, and 5 in terms of PA since he became their D coordinator.

Brady deserved better today??...In Brady's 17 seasons they have been ranked in the top 10 in this stat 14 times! For comparison Rodgers teams have been top 10 in 2/10 seasons and Peyton's teams were top 10 in 5/13 seasons.

Brady will obviously retire as arguably the greatest of all time. He's made comeback after comeback but tonight he had the backbreaking turnover. But damn give the Eagles some credit. They deserved to win plain and simple.

my argument for the whole points against theory is this yes they may force field goals but there's a big difference in getting a stop at the 5-yard line and the 45-yard line and that's about two or three extra minutes of being on the field and an old ass defense like that will gas and we saw it last night.

That's fair. But points against has pretty good predicitve value for success. The last 10 SB champions have been in the top 8 in 7/10.

2017- Eagles (4)
2016- Pats (1)
2015- Broncos (4)
2014- Pats (8)
2013- Seahawks (1)
2012- Ravens (12)
2011- NYG (25)
2010- Packers (2)
2009- Saints (20)
2008- Steelers (1)

If you're gonna attribute all the Pats' past wins to Brady's greatness then you have to give all the credit to Foles tonight. Unfair to say the Pats defense 'lost it' for Brady, especially when he had the ball with the chance to win the game, and then tie the game even after a turnover. Foles was flat out GREAT.

Brady might now be less likely to retire, although I bet Gisele would prefer he did.  Can't blame her, she's looking out for her man.

Congrats to the Eagles for the win, and yes the Patriots' D blew it for Tom Brady

not feeling ecstatic for the Lions next year....

the game was not won two weeks ago. Did last night already black out for you? If BG doesn't get the strip sack, I'd bet my life Brady marches them down the field for the game winning TD considering the Patriots became the first team to never punt in the Super Bowl

I wanted the Eagles to win, but they got lucky with that Corey Clements TD somehow standing. And saying "he stood no chance" when the dude passed for 500 yards and 3 TDs is some revisionist history. Eagles fans should feel fortunate and not cocky
