Hats off to Brady

505 yds. 3 td. May be the last time we see the GOAT in the Super Bowl. Good thing the next Lions HC just got 41 hung on him by a backup. The human meatball sub is going to return Detroit to their rightful spot at the bottom of the NFC. Brady deserved better today...

It's crazy that just a handful of plays separate him from being undefeated all the way to being the biggest loser in SB history. The fumble tonight, 28-3, INT at the goal line, Tyree catch, Edelman drop, Manningham catch, all the Vinateri FGs ... his legacy could be completely changed one way or the other. It makes 5-3 seem really good.

and you will start to see why Super Bowls are a lousy way to determine a legacy.  It's not like any QB gets control over their defense.  "I only design the weapons, I cannot fire them".

Brady's case for GOAT is greatly aided by the Patriots SB record but the real merit is in the regular seasons, capped off with the Year of Randy Moss.

True nobody else can say they played well enough to win 8 Super Bowls, but if SB play means everything to you then Joe Montana is the GOAT in that regard. 83/122, 1142 yards, 11 TDs, 0 INTs, 127.8 QB rating. 4-0 record.
I don't get why so many people get caught up on 'the GOAT.' You can't separate team success from individual success in a sport where 22 starters+ST play. TB12 is ovbiously one of the top QBs EVER and clearly the most SUCCESSFUL. But to say he is definitively the GOAT discredits some of the greats who haven't had the team success like the Pats (Marino and Rodgers are 2 that come to mind).

If that trick play by Philly wasn't trying to rub salt in the Pat's wound, I don't know what was. It was basically the same play, on fourth down, and it went for a TD.

Doug Pederson was all kinds of ballsy last night. But he had to be. History has proven time and time again that even if you get a big lead on Brady, the minute you switch to playing conservative to try and run the clock against him, he's got you right where he wants you.

Pederson was very fortunate that a lot of his gambles paid off. Any one of them could've ruined the game for Philly had they gone another way.

and 613 yards of offense wasted by a completely atrocious defense.  Oh well, the Patriots were lucky to win their last game and glad to see Philly finally win one.

Their defense wasn’t very good most the season. If you’re going to blame Patricia for it then you better blame the defensive genius that is Billy B too

I haven’t followed close, but it seems like the pats were beat by the new pats. Hot young coach, unheralded backup QB leads a good team over the hump with an MVP performance in the Super Bowl.

Rather poetic if you let it be.

Really just a great game overall. I wasn't sure Philly would be able to stay in it till the fourth, let alone win it.  Philly is legit. Nick Foles is legit. Tom Brady is the best of all time, doubt we will see a QB perform that well in a super bowl for a long time. Pretty sure he deserved MVP, even in the losing effort.

Is Stafford able to perform that well behind Philly's OL? I feel like he wouldn't.

The Patriots are not able to rush the QB. Foles was relatively unbothered the whole game. I know Philly supposedly has a good O line but in all the games I've watched of the Pats, their pressure on the QB was anemic at best.

The human meatball sub is going to return Detroit to their rightful spot at the bottom of the NFC.

You know, as a lifelong and long-suffering Lions fan, there's always this guarded optimism - highly guarded - that comes with new coaching hires, so I'll wait to see how the staff shakes out and who becomes the DC and what dynamic that guy and Patricia have and then I'll either think, "May not be TOO bad...." or "Hey, it's Mornhinweg 2.0...."

Time will tell. As a Lions fan, you have nothing but time...

That was a fantastic Super Bowl, and TB12 was nothing short of spectacular.  I expect Tom Brady to continue his excellent play next year.  However, will he have Gronk?  Who will his coordinators be? Is BB going to coach the patriots again?  You can never ount them out, but i will be fascinating to see what happens.

Brady will be 41 by the start of the regular season. If you look at the statistics for QBs starting at age forty they've played an average of something like 20 games for the remainder of their careers. Not even Tom can avoid father time. It's hard to see a path for him to get back to the Super Bowl next season, and it's even hard to see how he can play at the required level at the age of 42 or 43.

Hope I'm dead wrong.
