Both of those are true. Brady's made the Super Bowl eight times, and he's played well enough for his team to win every time.

You probaby have seen your last Tom Brady Super Bowl.
That's not on him, but the pieces around him are fragile.

Back in 2001, during New England's first-ever SB victory, Tom Brady was the backup.
In other news, this just in -- Kyle Sloter has gone into witness protection after his own coaching staff tried to go Tonya Harding on him.

THE BEARD showed all the signs of a future Lion - giving up tons of yards and losing big games. But he has the intense stare. Amazingly, Jim Schwartz looked not too bad, at least for a half.
February 4th, 2018 at 11:15 PM ^
stare. Not quite to the level of Bill Cowher or Mike Babcock. May he be half the coach those two were.

So disappointing.. Brady did everything he could without one of his top receivers. Still the GOAT. It is what it is.

Yeah, like how they kept whining about ball inflation pressure. Oh, wait . . . .

It looked like it deflected behind the players toward the back of the end zone. Dorsett was near the goal line, IIRC.

Didn't really have a strong rooting interest in the game but I thought that was atrocious. As we're all painfully aware, the Hail Mary is often successful when a tipped ball is caught by an unintended receiver. The DB on that play was deliberately removing Hogan from the equation, and it definitely should have been called.

500+ yards, 3 TDs, no punts . . . what more can Brady do?
Does he have to play defense too?
February 4th, 2018 at 11:51 PM ^
just don't play WR
February 5th, 2018 at 12:16 AM ^
that throw was not acurate. The #80 thrower (too short) did not set his foot when throwing the ball, so the ball sail a little bit. On the other ealges trick play. the TE 88 is tall enough that set his foot firm when throw and deliver a perfect ball for Foles to catch.

February 5th, 2018 at 9:32 AM ^
The announcers keep making a big deal about how Foles caught the pass to him and Brady did not. But they never mentioned how much more on target the pass was to Foles.
February 5th, 2018 at 9:44 AM ^
Foles was standing still, facing the ball, as easy of a pitch and catch as there possibly is. Brady was running a wheel route?! for some reason, on a ball that was leading him a bit too much. But everyone acts like they were the exact same throw/difficulty.
February 5th, 2018 at 10:14 AM ^
The broadcasters, especially Collins, desperately wanted a Foles > Brady story all night.
We were going to get one no matter what transpired.
If it wasn't the Foles catch, it would have been how much better he handed off to his RBs, or some other drivel like that.

that he broke curfew the night before the game, got stoned, and had "some amount" of marijuana on his person. This is unsubstantiated, but that was the thread on Monday.

Brady was great tonight and so was Foles. Neither D played well but the quarterback play was fantastic both ways. The Pats had the 5th ranked defense in terms of points allowed this season (which IMO is the most important defensive statistic...yards mean nothing if you don't let other teams score TDs). If you want to say Patricia had a bad game today, fine. But his teams have ranked 9, 10, 8, 10, 1, and 5 in terms of PA since he became their D coordinator.
Brady deserved better today??...In Brady's 17 seasons they have been ranked in the top 10 in this stat 14 times! For comparison Rodgers teams have been top 10 in 2/10 seasons and Peyton's teams were top 10 in 5/13 seasons.
Brady will obviously retire as arguably the greatest of all time. He's made comeback after comeback but tonight he had the backbreaking turnover. But damn give the Eagles some credit. They deserved to win plain and simple.

That's fair. But points against has pretty good predicitve value for success. The last 10 SB champions have been in the top 8 in 7/10.
2017- Eagles (4)
2016- Pats (1)
2015- Broncos (4)
2014- Pats (8)
2013- Seahawks (1)
2012- Ravens (12)
2011- NYG (25)
2010- Packers (2)
2009- Saints (20)
2008- Steelers (1)
If you're gonna attribute all the Pats' past wins to Brady's greatness then you have to give all the credit to Foles tonight. Unfair to say the Pats defense 'lost it' for Brady, especially when he had the ball with the chance to win the game, and then tie the game even after a turnover. Foles was flat out GREAT.

!. Tom Brady is still fantastic
2. The Patriots D were the worst tackling team I've seen all year, they lost Tom that superbowl.
3. lol Lions re #2

Brady might now be less likely to retire, although I bet Gisele would prefer he did. Can't blame her, she's looking out for her man.
Congrats to the Eagles for the win, and yes the Patriots' D blew it for Tom Brady
not feeling ecstatic for the Lions next year....

the game was not won two weeks ago. Did last night already black out for you? If BG doesn't get the strip sack, I'd bet my life Brady marches them down the field for the game winning TD considering the Patriots became the first team to never punt in the Super Bowl
I wanted the Eagles to win, but they got lucky with that Corey Clements TD somehow standing. And saying "he stood no chance" when the dude passed for 500 yards and 3 TDs is some revisionist history. Eagles fans should feel fortunate and not cocky

Obviously you don’t win a game 2 weeks ahead of time!
