Possible Pep Hamilton Replacements

Submitted by GoBlueDenver on

Since I'll never be accused of being productive on the Monday after a 4-day weekend, I'll go ahead and start the discussion off with these possible Pep Hamilton replacements, if he goes:

  • Jedd Fisch
  • Tyrone Wheatley
  • None - Drevno & Harbaugh fill in, we hire a possible WR or RB coach

I'm not informed enough to have an opinion yet, but didn't Harbaugh want Greg Roman here when he was first hired?  Roman's no longer an NFL coordinator so would seemingly be available this go around.

Does anyone else feel like the Offensive staff got off track last year by hiring Frey? I'm not saying he's a bad coach, but now we technically have 2 OL coaches and no WR coach, and need some dominos to fall in order to restrcuture the issue. Just odd after all the young talented WR's we brought in.

But I don't like the idea of two OL coaches.  It just seems odd to me.  Those guys all need to be on the same page.

Thing is, I don't know if Drevno is a good OC.  We have evidence that he's a really good line coach, but not so much as OC.  Maybe he's like Hoke?  Outstanding at one thing, mediocre at all the rest.

coach going to be approved for next year? If so, wasn't Michael Johnson Sr. already in the boat with a position before the NCAA decided not to pass the legislation for an extra coach? That seems like a no-brainer to me. I'd also like to see Mike Hart take over for Jay Harbaugh at RB coach so Jay can slide back into the TE coaching. I'm sure Ron Bellamy would want to come back to his alma mater and coach the WRs. Looks like he did a job at West Bloomfield, he had a couple stud WRs, one is headed to Wisconsin.

It is quite evident Harbaugh can get a better offensive coaching staff and should. Taking Joe Moorhead is a no brainer. Just give him more money. Problem solved!!!. Boy that was easy. Drevno can help coach the o-line or beat it. Hamilton ahhh well goodbye.

We are in good hands on defense, but Brown you might want to spy the QB every once in a while. We should have the number one defense next year and that aint no bullshit so if we can get it together on offense we should be quite good. Up to Harbaugh to make the right decisions.

For the majority of this season, people were singling Pep out as one of the biggest changes that was needed for this staff.

And now that he's potentially going bye bye, we want him back?

Help me here.

-Marcus Wood  -  former offesnive coordinator from East Missippi St CC.  Lit of the scoreboard for them.   Known for getting kicked out by his own hillbilly head coach on Netflix's Last Chance U season 2.

- Pete Stuursma.  a d3 NCAA coach but has a greaet track record of actually developing offensive lines and likes to utalize the fullback.

Play calling was great in The Game and that was Jim and Drev. Keep Drev, get an awesome receiver coach and another o-line coach to help Frey with o-line and tight ends. Keep Drev with just helping Jim coordinating. Maybe not so of bad options eh? I believe they get to add a coach here to the roster if I remember reading that correctly on here in the past. Read it a few times actually.

Hopefully this is sarcasm, but in case it's not: Cam Cameron is a terrible coach and most likely the reason Miles got canned at LSU. Dude could not develop a QB or produce even a mediocre offense with a bevy of NFL talent. Also, not a single 1st round offenseive lineman ever came out of LSU under Miles/Cameron.

Harbaugh needs to hire someone like don brown. We are Michigan we have money offer top dollar to the best OC out there. It can't be someone who worked for harbaugh before. We need someone who can build on and make the offense better. Another harbaugh guy would just be the same as now. Pep can take Frey with him cuz we sucked with zone blocking, stick to power football. Then we can hire more top tier coaches.

He's walking away with a 10 million dollar lump sum within the next 60 days. I doubt he would consider an OC job with so many HC job vacancies on the market, but he should be able to take the job for less than a million per year to build his prestige back up into another big time HC opportunity in the future.

What folks don't realize is Harbaugh is not going to let no OC implement their offense because he has an offense he wants to run. Maybe Harbaugh needs to take on more of the CEO role and allow the OCs to do their thing like he has allowed his DCs to do.

You people are insane. Except for the Wisconsin game, which featured fade after fade after fade ... and none of them open ... we had receivers running free all year, especially late in the year. The failure to hit those open receivers is on poor qb play (and shaky pass protection).

why do Drevno and Pep both make $1M each fergodsakes ?!?!

they should return most of their salaries this year for the product they helped produce...

at least O'Korn admitted he stunk... he will every be a Michigan Man in my book for that
