I think some of my dear friends on here are forgetting how horrific the crashes were.
It wasn't an occasional 15-30 second break. The site would shut down for hours at a time. During a football game, the page wouldn't even load. It was inoperable for very, very long stretches at a time.
This is the same thing that happens with every transition, no matter what board. I can remember when ESPN had their boards in the late 90s and moved to another model, people were PISSED. But ESPN (not their normal thing I know), listened to complaints and made it better.
There's a lot of potential here. The old site buckled too often under the weight of use. They'll figure out how to make this better as it goes along.
|06/13/2018 - 9:16am||No one wants an aging 35…||
No one wants an aging 35-year old hitter with one of the worst contracts in baseball.
The best thing for the Tigers to do is see if they can somehow buy him out or something to reduce the strain of the contract. And when that is decided, bring up Christian Stewart and any other kids the team planned on using in the future and letting them develop.
Same with V-Mart. His time is done, he's been a very good Tiger, but they have to move on.
|06/11/2018 - 8:45am||Because I am more of a…||
Because I am more of a basketball guy, I would like them win the NCAA tournament, don't care if they win the regular season or tournament, just want to see them win it all?
What do I think is most needed for the school at this point? Personally, think it's a no brainer- #2

A source tells @TheAthleticDET that John Beilein and Michigan have a new contract nearly finalized. • It will be a two-year extension with a rolling option, making his contract five years in total. • Believed to be worth just under $4 million per year.
|06/06/2018 - 12:15pm||YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS||
|06/06/2018 - 9:55am||I can attest to this. I…||
I can attest to this. I bought a higher priced TCL because it has one of the best input lag ratings for gaming. It was about 7 or 8 hundred, and well worth the purchase.
|06/04/2018 - 11:36am||See you all||
On the other side.
|06/03/2018 - 9:41pm||Good for you||
You don't represent everyone. You represent yourself.
Don't say things and just say "period, end of story" as though you speak for everybody.
I love college basketball. But the NBA playoffs (other than the last conference series) are very, very intriguing and intense. If you don't like them, fine.
|06/03/2018 - 9:39pm||Turn on||
Any Michigan game other than the major matchups.
The place is maybe 1/4th full.
|06/03/2018 - 9:11pm||And there are||
Great regular season basketball games that happen all the time in the NBA. Don't let your dislike of the NBA distort that.
A third of the college basketball season is complete crap (bottom feeders in the non-conference).
|06/03/2018 - 8:54pm||No||
It's not period, end of story.
NHL and MLB are substantially superior to their collegiate counterparts.
And I like college basketball as much as you do, but don't act like the NBA regular season is crap and the college basketball season is some magical ride.
The regular season in college bball can be a total slog.
|06/03/2018 - 6:49pm||Read the part||
That was free without paying the subscription. DId not see anything in there other than what Beilein has done at Michigan.
Is there anything in the article that says detailed information about new sources?
|06/01/2018 - 10:04am||Yes||
There is. He gets mentioned for it a fair amount.
|06/01/2018 - 8:43am||I keep hearing||
That he's a guarenteed HoFer.
Do people look at his stats?? Doesn't even average 10 points on his career PPG. 7 REB, 4.6 Assist PPG is nice, but those aren't even CLOSE to hall of fame numbers.
Not to mention, his shooting percentage is complete junk.
If he landed anywhere else but GS, he's a nice role player. That's it.
|06/01/2018 - 8:31am||Saw both play||
LeBron is a better overall basketball player, and has done more with substantially weaker teams. Not only that, he probably has another 4-5 years left of great basketball.
|05/31/2018 - 3:35pm||SMU in general||
|05/31/2018 - 9:13am||How's the water looking?||
Need the specifics on that. I know Michigan's struggled with colder temps.
|05/30/2018 - 9:23pm||This search||
Has made absolutely zero sense. They have an advisor, they are bringing in advisors for the advisor, those of whom coached in the 70s.
And then, there are rumors that they want to interview Kenny freaking Smith? A dude who's been in the broadcast world for like 20 years?
Juwan Howard would be the ONLY thing of any of this search that makes sense. He's done his time, he deserves a shot.
|05/30/2018 - 4:03pm||Just trust||
Your Uncle Leo. He never lets you down.
|05/30/2018 - 1:50pm||These athletes||
Do not dream of not being drafted and spending their time in Europe. It sounds nice to us, but for them, it's not their goal.
They all want to play in the NBA. If that's his goal (which it is), leaving this year makes no sense. The draft is one of the strongest it has been in a LONG time, and he's MAYBE a 2nd rounder. Next year, the talent pool shrinks, he'll have another year under his belt to shore up his game, and get 1st round money.
|05/30/2018 - 1:18pm||Another update||
Guy sounds pretty close to the situation:
John miller Mhoops:
I truly believe a full decision has not been made yet. At least not one that I’ve been made aware of and I’ve talked to his father and both brothers.
|05/30/2018 - 1:14pm||Sorry||
For the crap formatting.
|05/30/2018 - 1:14pm||Yup here's the quote from MHoops|
|05/30/2018 - 12:35pm||It's a wash||
Kennard can make his own shot, Huerter probably plays better D. Kennard is an underratedly strong dude and has 10 plus lbs on Kevin, Kevin is a couple inches taller.
Either way, they should have drafted Mitchell.
|05/30/2018 - 12:23pm||They must||
Have watched someone different. I'm not seeing it.
|05/30/2018 - 12:19pm||Ethan Happ||
|05/30/2018 - 12:10pm||Don't get||
|05/30/2018 - 12:10pm||Maybe||
He's a nice player. I don't know if his skills are strong enough to carve out a niche.
He basically needs to become a Kyle Korver type (yeah, white athlete comparison).
|05/30/2018 - 9:53am||Not really||
This is a basketball school, so I look forward to winter and spring.
|05/29/2018 - 3:16pm||UMHoops||
The talk in the big Matthews thread is that the noise is him not returning.
Again, no idea what's true and what's not, but there's nothing positive trending towards him staying.
|05/29/2018 - 3:09pm||Sadly||
The majority of the talk is that Matthews is not coming back.
I think Michigan will be alright regardless, the freshman will be getting a lot more PT.
And poor Ibi, I bet he would have stuck if he knew Matthews was leaving.
|05/29/2018 - 1:30pm||I could be wrong||
But his attitude when I watch him just sucks. He just doesn't seem to have that drive that is necessary. Same with Querrey. He's openly said he cares more about the money than being remembered as a great tennis player.
|05/29/2018 - 1:29pm||We will||
There are a lot of really talented people coming up through the system, but they have just struggled to get going. And now is the time for them to come on the scene as the big 4 start to wrap up their careers.
|05/28/2018 - 11:29pm||Ah||
So that's why the NBA's ratings are going sky high.
|05/28/2018 - 10:47pm||I do put some blame||
He is one of the most arrogant coaches I can remember in any sport. The night before they play T and T, he's saying how teams from Europe should come over and play in CONCACAF.
There was never any urgency with this team.
|05/28/2018 - 10:01pm||Who is the down vote from?||
Oh, what a shock.
|05/28/2018 - 9:51pm||For sure||
I know it was just a little friendly, but it was nice seeing all these new guys.
I will always remember the good those guys did for the organization, but they also have to carry the stain of missing a WC.
|05/28/2018 - 8:44pm||Yes it is||
Time to move on from the older players. There is no need to keep trotting Dempsey and Howard out there. They will likely not be major players in future tournaments to come, and continuing to have them take up space for the kids that need the time on the big stage is silly.
Bradley probably has a few good years, and Jozy just hasn't proven himself to be useful at the highest stages. He's had MORE than enough time to make his mark.
|05/28/2018 - 2:39pm||Hate to be mr. negative||
But one of the users on M Hoops is pretty certain Matthews is gone.
|05/28/2018 - 10:50am||Pretty easy||
USA losing to Germany in the 2002 World Cup.
Did I do this right?
|05/28/2018 - 12:31am||I don't know||
If I would call Sheed a bonafide star on Portland.
He was very, very good NBA player. I don't know if I can give him the S word.
|05/27/2018 - 11:22pm||And Boston||
Would have given GS a better series?
|05/27/2018 - 11:21pm||Love Bill||
But he's a distant 3rd behind LeBron and Michael.
He didn't score a ton and couldn't shoot or hit free throws, just rebounded a shit ton during an era when he was probably 5 inches taller than everyone else on average.
Bill Russell in the modern era would be a great player, but not nearly what he was back then.
Michael and LeBron are the top 2, without question.
|05/27/2018 - 11:04pm||No Problem||
LeBron is a much better player than Bill Russell.
|05/27/2018 - 10:57pm||Lebron||
Sorry Jordan fans who can't see the other side. This guy is just better.
Dude scores 35 with Jeff freaking Green as the only other option.
|05/26/2018 - 9:50am||Five bucks||
To the first person that shits on this thread and talks about how much soccer sucks.
|05/25/2018 - 9:24pm||You are predicting that||
Because he's not going to Michigan.
If he listed MIchigan as his top school, these statements would never be made.
|05/25/2018 - 3:27pm||USA||
Is generally my biggest rooting interest in soccer. I know I'll get beaten up for suggesting such a thing, but Donovan's goal against Algeria was the single greatest moment of fandom with ANY sport in my life.
The night they missed making the WC was one of the more painful ones I've felt as a fan, but it was odd. It did not really hit me right away, and then Twellman had his rant, and I felt it after. And I will be sick watching the Cup without the US in it.
|05/25/2018 - 2:44pm||Maybe||
The stadium stuff has to be figured out. If they roll out Ford Field again, MLS will move on.
Whoever the owner is for the next proposal, a unique stadium HAS to be in the plans.
|05/25/2018 - 2:33pm||Less than that||
World Cup!! The REAL REAL SPORT!! WOO!!
