|06/08/2018 - 8:12am||The correct person to ask…||
The correct person to ask about this is Mr. Peters. For those of you who have had the luxury of meeting him, he clearly runs Brandon Peters Inc. It may make no sense to us fans for him to transfer this year, when all he has to do is finish the year, graduate, and transfer with 2 years of eligibility left. However, if you remember there was some friction last year and I think after multiple sit downs a plan/strategy was in place for BP. If for any reason the coaches deviate from the plan set forth I could see things changing quickly.
With that being said, Pep has always been very high on BP, and worked tirelessly with him over the past couple years. It's hard for me to believe that BP is not at least #2 and most likely still in the running for the starter.
|06/01/2018 - 8:10am||Bench Mason||
Going to get more than 3, he might have 3 against WMU. Goal line touches all year, he might lead the backs in TD's!
|05/23/2018 - 8:52am||Jay Harbaugh||
Jay is becoming elite on the trail. Simple. The jackhammer work ethic is clearly genetic and it's only a matter of time before we start to see his hard work pay off with top-end national talent. "It's not about how bad you want it....it's about how hard you are willing to work for it".
The work he has put into California is incredible. Our foothold is stronger than it's been in a long time. De La Salle, Mater Dei, Coronoa, Mission and Chamande to name a few. Jay has the ability to walk into almost any school on the West Coast and be welcomed with open arms. Most people would assume that is because of his last name, but if you ask the coaches from these schools and others on the trail they will tell you, it's the first name.
I wonder if coach would consider making him the lead recruiter with CP, more in a capacity like Kerry Combs, where he's involved with all the staff top choices? I know DB and GM have a strong grip on defense, and East coast kids. However, Jay might be helpful to go to another level.. Another idea would be adding Detroit to his list of responsibilities..
Many of us believe that the Moore and Washington hires have a correlation to GM retiring. Well let me give you one more, and something I truly believe. Jay Harbaugh is the next coach at the University of Michigan.

Is trying to get ZH to visit on the weekend of June 22-24. The Hinton bros, and a few other high profile recruits are taking their offical that weekend. Might just be our biggest recruiting weekend of 2018. Go Blue.

Shane had a different Dad:
- He would of been on the team last year
- His career at Michigan would have been different
This might comes across very harsh or rude. However for any of you that have had the pleasure to meet Mr. Morris knows what I'm talking about. Wore out his welcome with the Hoke regime, also after a week in Bradenton had to be spoken to by multiple support staff and coaches. Guy needs to take a hike, but I can promise you he will be in Allen Park.

What's his uncle's name?
|03/24/2018 - 9:07am||Nasty!||
Great to see the boys: DT, JLew, and Delano yesterday. I can tell you all one thing for sure, they all think we have best 1-2 DB's and WR's in the country. They were hyping all 4 stud's to multiple NFL guys and other support staff.
|03/14/2018 - 1:06pm||Surprised no one took||
Maurice Searight - Pontiac street legend, oh what could have been
|03/09/2018 - 8:07am||Not sure||
But I saw WS increase his reps and practice time in the weeks leading up to the bowl game. He went from sideline and training room, to red jersey, to working with the 2's in late December.
Also I wonder if Pep has anything to do with this, and the reason I say that is; it's hard to imagine but if you did not know better and showed up to Schem Hall last season you would be convinced that Pep was BP personal trainer, not one of our coaches. The two were always together working on things (on and off field) and even in live 11 v 11 Pep stood next to BP behind the LOS off to the side.
I also know that coach was bothered and confused by WS decision. I guess we will see, but my guess has always been he follows DH or his girlfriend to their school choice. Tim Lester is a great qb coach and teacher, but not sure it's even an option for WS.
|03/09/2018 - 7:26am||At the end of the day it's still the qb position||
And we still have a porous OL at best. You can never have enough weapons at qb - i.e. Ohio State , Philly Eagles, Jimmy G and on and on.
Also from what I understand WS wanted to play in the bowl game and was told NO. I do not think he quit on the team, I think like stated above, he saw the writing on the wall and wanted to play his final year, somewhere.
The one thing that I don't know is where Dmac is in his evolution and understanding of the position for both backup purposes and starter if we have injuries or poor play. I know coach Brown loves him and he has added nearly 25lbs since getting to AA so maybe he's ready..
After the bowl game I really got down on BP. I was thoroughly convinced he was going to take the reigns and never look back. Which was not the case, and although the team did not play great in Tampa, BP missed a bunch of throws and looked scared and overwhelmed to me.
I have not been on the blog for a while, but wondered if any of the upcoming transfers/guys not coming back have been discussed? Looks like 3-4 more..
|02/18/2018 - 7:51am||New WR coach McElwain||
First orders of business:
a. Figure out what the hell is going on with Grant Perry and either kill it or cure it.
b. Get the #1 off Crawford back immediately, AC thanks you.
c. Work on Jump balls in the end zone for our 3 stud super sophs and TE's.
d. Release the beast Oliver Martin - Breakwater thanks you.
e. Show WR's how to get off the LOS jams better, and run routes that take less than 10 sec
f. Lastly, tie your ship to DPJ like you did Dee Hart, so when he becomes the next OBJ you can take all the credit and get another head job
|02/14/2018 - 4:39pm||Drew Terrell||
Wonder why we didn't promote DT?
|02/11/2018 - 7:51am||I agree with you||
I agree with you brutus.
However we will most likely not be able to keep him on staff for more than 2 years, especially if he is a wr coach. Urban for example has found a way to keep Johnson, Schiano, Wilson, Day, and Combs for 3+ years and some much longer. I know all of those are not x-coaches, but all have their names being thrown around every off season for promotions, yet they all come back.
|01/31/2018 - 4:58pm||I have many friends on both sides of the aisle, I feel obligated||
I am not saying everyone is not guilty or should keep their job, all I have been saying is lets not rehash old public stuff as if it is the end of the world. Let the investigations play out, lets get the facts, then if Izzo or D have to go they have to go. Keep in mind none of this was covered up by anyone either - all public.
Winston missed the next three games, but Dantonio allowed him to play in the regular-season finale at Penn State.
However, Dantonio didn't allow Winston to accompany the team to the Capital One Bowl in Orlando, Fla. or participate in the offseason conditioning program or spring practice.
|01/30/2018 - 5:13pm||Travis Walton statement||
He deserves to have his side of the story as well, and if all true this sucks for this young man. I question the timing, I think this statement from him should have come out 3 or 4 days ago, not after he met with MSU attorneys, but then again who am I to say.

|01/25/2018 - 8:04pm||I was told WS leaving really||
I was told WS leaving really bothered coach. As much as we all may want him to go, I'm of the opinion that coach thought WS was the starter going into next year before all the Shea business. Falk and Fisch spoke to WS both in depth to try and understand his decision and if there was anything that could help change his mind. After that bowl game, if we are all honest with ourselves WS probably gives us the best chance to win next year assuming Shea not eligible. I do not think he is coming back, but this would explain a lot. Kenny Allen was in today and made it sound like WS was going to be in California with him next week. I'm not sure if WS is taking classes or not.
Some very important people that work in Schem Hall think Shea and all the ole Miss boys are going to be eligible for whatever that is worth.
|01/23/2018 - 7:52am||He's the kid that tries sooo hard||
Both in sports and with the ladies, but never gets picked.
Dudek camp thinks they are going to get at worst one of Anderson and Patterson. It also sounds like Barrett has a committable offer but that he may decide to pursue the qb route which would give gatech, or Nebraska the lead (fsu maybe).
Swim lanes are in full effect and NPF is obviously the top guy, followed by Anderson.
Otis is in his own pool and they do feel good about him (I know this is posted everywhere)
Lastly, apparently the staff hit it out of the park this week for a 19 kid who went to Kwity Paye high school. Their HS coach has a man crush on JH and DB and also has spoken about a camp this summer.
|01/18/2018 - 5:06pm||Brandon||
Brandon Peters and Pep have a very strong relationship. You could argue that Pep is Brandon coach, he works with him more than 75% of the time based on what I have seen. I'm not saying one has anything to do with another, however. If Shea is ruled not eligible, Pep staying on is probably what we all want. Pep can and will if given the chance make BP better. I know some think that even a great BP is probably not beating out Shea and after the bowl game admittedly that is where my mind has begun to go.

|01/13/2018 - 11:50am||What worries me||
Is that it appears we have decided that Friday is going to do what he's going to do.
I know Sam said Mattison is not retiring, but I have heard something much different, and we have max 2 more years of his services.
JH and Enos were in Kansas to see a wisc commit
Dudek on west coast to visit Jarrett Patterson and in Florida today to see Petit-frere
Pep making his rounds in the D
Mattison in Germany
I mean when coach wants someone, he becomes that jack hammer, he pulls out all the stops. I know he got killed for sleeping over the kicker house, and climbing trees, but we got both those kids. He also went hard for Ambry and Solomon.
If we see D Brown and coach get in front of Friday this week or next than maybe there is hope, but the facts seem to suggest we have moved on and he gone.

We are clearly in SF (and his momma) crosshairs.
One of his first calls from Lincoln was to Michael Barrett and he has told him that if he comes he will be his starting qb of the future. An offical offer was extended and visit scheduled.
|01/04/2018 - 2:27pm||As of last night it was not confirmed either way||
Finally got back in town and was catching up with some colleagues last night. Here is what they said:
Looks like Pep is taking an NFL gig
Coach Mattison has told JH he has max 2 years left (actually a long/funny story)
Enos is IN - but not confirmed and he not in AA yet..
CP wants to stay, also wants to grow and continue to move up the coaching ranks. Has multiple overtures to leave from big schools
Sounds like something is going on with Drevno but maybe not leaving. Frey thing was going to be left up to Frey. Willie got JH blessing, Frey is welcome back if he decides to stay ($$)
1-2 more coaches still getting figured out
Apparently the strength coach is an animal
Chase was always coming back, told coaches, Falk, teamates at banquet.
Bush Sr. is going to be a coach next year in some capacity.
I'm sure all or most of this has been covered in the past 5 days. Just thought I would share what has been told to me, last time I wrote anything it was that KW was in AA, and JBB was awol. Again I apoligize for the vocabulary.
I asked about the transfers, and attrition. Sounds like there is news coming on both fronts.
|12/29/2017 - 7:49am||I get it. I also get no one||
I get it. I also get no one wants to jinx it. However if this is not a positive interview for him coming back I don't know what is. Clearly to me it sounds like he has some unfinished business that he would like to handle. For what it's worth, after the interview he was laughing it up with a few of his teamates and they were giving him shit about making us all wait. Reading between the lines, he back! (is that the inverse to he gone?) Not sure.
|12/29/2017 - 7:38am||Very sorry||
I should not of used the word Awol or explained more. I have not seen him running with 1's or 2's. I'm going to pay more attention today to firm up speculation. He was in the doghouse for parts of the season, and the coaches go from thinking the light has finally gone on and JBB is figuring things out, to yanking him from the play and wearing him out on the sidelines. His mistakes seem to outweigh his progress regularly.
|12/28/2017 - 8:08pm||Also||
Other than Hawkins move to LB I have not seen any position changes.
Mcdoom with the wr's for sure not the rb's.

AS far as I know, Bredeson is fine, and in Florida. Walker did not make the trip, and JBB is awol
|12/22/2017 - 9:30pm||Northwestern||
Got blown out, showed very little effort, and has been terrible defensively. Come back home coach Donlon, we will gladly take you back.
|12/20/2017 - 7:42am||Julius Welschof||
Just commited to Michigan, go blue!
|12/18/2017 - 7:52am||Wrong||
You have no idea what you are talking about man.
A. Georgia has room, even if they didn't, would make room, and wants Reese badly.
B. Ohio state has 2 CB's for Friday. Get ur shit together pal.
|12/17/2017 - 8:02am||All of the above||
Got to spend some time with his family when he was in AA. Watching him interact with current players and listening to how they speak about him and vice-versa. Vert, JKP, Ambry, and DPJ all were excited to see him and treat him like their baby brother. The best players in Michigan go to Michigan was said a few times as well. Much like DPJ recruitment I think he might take visits and create a top 5 but he comin'. Also my guess is he's a top 50 player by his senior year.
|12/16/2017 - 4:00pm||He comin'||
|12/16/2017 - 3:59pm||Drevno is on 4-6 top OL/TE||
Drevno is on 4-6 top OL/TE guys every year and his success rate is better than most. Patridge and Jay are both outkicking their coverage, and Pep narrowed in on 2 guys for this cycle and got them both. Hugh Freeze complained about this, and other coaches feel the same way. JH told us all in his first year, he's a jackhammer. Sure, both coach Wheatley and Fisch are missed, but they both had roles that are being covered by more coaches now (Fisch woked on west coast and Wheat was in charge of Detroit-among other things) Not sure this answers your question. I do think that whomever the new hires are they will have some recruiting experience, if not expertise.
|12/16/2017 - 2:56pm||I think the coaches had a||
I think the coaches had a similiar feeling, especially Patridge. Sounds to me like things are coming down to a number issue. People assume because they offer Bell & VS that we are desperate, and it's not the case. They have a certain amount of guys they want at each position, each year. This strategy is tried and true for the Harbaugh's, and nothing is going to change their minds.
My feeling is that if you are not on that early signing period list, they are not counting it in the bag. With the flip of Jobe to Bama it proves that these elite kids will flip, and in fact have a tendency to. The coaches were not expecting to miss on both Anderson and VJ.(admissions) I think, they have begun to come around to the fact that until their top 2/3 (barrett, Petit-frere, Friday) kids are inked, that it's anyone's game.
The coaches WILL close strong. They outwork their peers, and it's going to show up on NSD. Not sure who, or when yet. The past 2 weeks have been crazy, and there are people inside Schem Hall who think we have some highly ranked kids coming.
Bowl prep is in full. I to am in the Peters boat. I think he has an incredible bowl game, and takes the pole position now and keeps it. Regardless of whether Shea gets cleared, I think Peters is the guy.
Don't be surpsried if the transfer announcements start coming in. Harris, Speight, Hall, and Moe are close or already agreed is the word.
|12/12/2017 - 8:14am||Not sure he's considering CMU||
However, does make a ton of sense. One of coach Harbaugh's GA's from his first 2 years in AA left to take a much larger role at CMU. Albert Karschnia is the director of player personal and a huge part of their recruiting efforts. He had a lot to do with Shane transfer, and also had a large role in the original recruitment of JHall to Michigan. It was time for Albert to grow and get some more experience under his belt, but my guess is he ends up back in AA in a few years where his heart is. I speculated a few weeks ago that some of the grad transfers may end up in Mount Plesant and this is the biggest reason why. Albert is also an OLSM grad and played a big role in many of the kids we recruited successfully out of metro Detroit in 2015-2017. Albert is a real behind the scenes kind of guy that has been very difficult to replace. His realtionship with recruits and knowledge of the trail will open many doors for him over the next decade.

Team Pep vs. Team JH
Brandon v Shea
|12/09/2017 - 5:59am||Might be a RB or 2||
Getting the handshake, pure speculation, but like I mentioned last week more transfers are coming. KT & OS both work their tails off, and KW has started to see the light just needs to work on avoiding foot and ankle tackles. With all that being said I still think depth chart looks different next year. The 2 new coaches may have something to do with that once they are hired or promoted. Going to be a great weekend. Not 1, not 2, not 3
|12/07/2017 - 9:43am||http://footballscoop.com/news|
|12/07/2017 - 7:17am||Oklahoma||
This might be pointed at Oklahoma just as much as us. Riley and their coaches are going all out for multiple OleMiss players, they have traveled to Oxford (no ihop), and are casting a much larger net than us, in hopes of grabbing as many as 5-7 players. Also this looks like Little most likely transfer scenario.
Coach told everyone from the jump his mantra, he was going to outwork everyone. The jackhammer is back at it again, and man I love it.
Some of the weekend visitors are going to be arriving tonight and tomorrow and there is a real buzz that this could be a weekend we look back on like last year when: Black, DPJ, Ambry, Hall and others visited.
|12/06/2017 - 11:07am||LB||
I do not believe Breon Dixon is a take.
I'm hearing 3 is the number and that Little is not coming. But staff also believes we may have a big weekend on other fronts so giddy up!
|12/06/2017 - 7:38am||The safety||
Is a huge upgrade over Metellius, IMO.
Assuming he can piuck up the scheme and DB defense.

Would surprise me if he was not back with Coach Mattison group by the spring.
|12/05/2017 - 6:32pm||Thanks Magnus!
Going to be
Going to be a great weekend.
|12/05/2017 - 4:45pm||Attrition or just kids leaving||
I think the number of kids that leave will exceed what most are expecting.
When I hear attrition I think 5th year guys like Scott Spynewski last year who was not offered a scholly for a long snapper, rather bring in a freshman at a position of need. This year I think there may be a few more King Davis scenarios..
After the OSU game coach gave the seniors 3 days off, but made them do weights and film, all other players had to practice the next day. I was around that Monday, and of course a lot of the players were still upset and frusturated. However listening and talking to a few people there was a strange vibe. Now I know this vibe had to do with the group that announced their intentions (DH,WS,AM,MW).
I did not get the sense that this was over, or even close to over. JH has been running around focused and with an edge. I was not surprised at all to see him with MD twitter fingers, and some of the kids flat out look worried.
For respect for the kids I won't mention any names other than Crawford which UMbig already mentioned. But, don't be surprised if a: TE or 2 (sounds crazy I know but just sayin..) WR or 2, 1 lineman, and 1-2 db/safety guys end up elsewhere.
The momentum is building on the recruiting trail and there are simply not enough spots. Exit interviews and depth chart is all over the coaches schedules, and apparent in their meeting rooms etc.
PS: Glad to see Franklin is gone, clearly a liability. Go Blue!
