12/01/2018 - 9:57am I made the change, and…

I made the change, and completely understand your concern.  You are not the only one with RichRod PTSD.

12/01/2018 - 8:04am There is something more…

There is something more going on here.  Almost positive it has nothing to do with ZC, and everything to do with Gray.  What's strange is the staff has a feeling they have a shot, and rarely do they get in late on a kid if there is not a chance.  Jimmie Dougherty was talking to Jay about this a couple weeks ago on the phone, and I could not connect the dots at the time.  Reached out to canes source who told me they would flip Herbert and sign Mallory well before each happened, and he said don't be surprised if Williams does NOT go to Miami.  I tried to get more, asked if it was grades or character (do we have a Chris Johnson 2.0 on our hands) and he said young man is a great kid.

Reached out to AK as well and he does not think or WR coach will be the next head coach for the Chips, also does not think Pep will be chosen to run Maryland, but does expect him to be gone.  Worth noting he said if JM does leave RoyR would just hop right into that spot, and has done a great job with the wr room, also said don't be surprised if more coaches currently on staff move around and up the ladder (within our team) this offseason.  Not sure, but Mr. Bush, CP, Ron Prince, and Pep are all guys to keep an eye on.

11/28/2018 - 2:14pm All I did is repeat what…

All I did is repeat what JLew said to a few guys about Hill.

I would expect to see Gray and Marick as starters or playing a ton next season.

Also, DHill is being mentioned as a Peppers type talent from day 1

Ambry is a starter, everything else will be decided in next 9 months.

11/28/2018 - 2:01pm To clarify, are you saying…

To clarify, are you saying if Michigan had a choice of any 3 guys, ZH might not make the cut?

11/28/2018 - 1:07pm Franklin, Harbaugh, and…

Franklin, Harbaugh, and Meyer all visiting ZH this week, urbz being the last one on Sunday.  Michigan felt much better about things before last week.  It's been said on here before, so I will say it again.  ZH is very much a project, nothing like Gary, Peppers, or even AHutch when it comes to playing right away.  Karf has a much better shot at seeing the field early IMO.

If Michigan could just grab any 3 guys left they are recruiting I am not sure ZH would be on that list.  Keegan and Karf + a wr, or the big boy from Ben Davis would be incredible.

Lastly, I expect Dmac to be the starter next year assuming he bounces back from his injury.  Jlew told some people last weekend that he thinks Hill is "for sure" going to the league.  I think the staff might take 30 guys this cycle, based on how hard they are still trying to flip guys and attack.

PS: Pretty sure MattyD and other were talking about the big boy from Ben Davis or Solomon.  The kid from Canton is also someone to keep an eye on

11/26/2018 - 11:46am It is NOT ZH.  Not saying he…

It is NOT ZH.  Not saying he will not come to Michigan, but MattyD is talking about someone else.  Some late offers went out last week, and 2 of them want to come to AA.

I had it on great authority the first week of Jan 2018 that Pep was gone.  In fact, I believe a firm handshake was the intention, but somehow he did not get let go.  Therefore, I'm not going to put foot in mouth again this year until it's official.

Solomon is playing.  Myers getting a ton of run in practice (nephew of an alum, whom is great pals with GM).  Carlo wants to go.

09/26/2018 - 8:11am Had a great convo with a HS…

Had a great convo with a HS coach last night in Metro Detroit.  I asked him about Michigan and their inability to get some of the bigger in state guys.  He agreed that the 2018-2020 classes are very strong.  He said that RR and SM have both been heavily involved with 3 of his kids, and that JayH has also been sniffing around much more.   He also said: "You know Mr. Wheatley was very well liked in Detroit and throughout that state, and the way that whole thing went down made many coaches, parents, and kids think twice before looking into Michigan".    Of course I came back over the top with: no sex scandals, no DV or coverups, no lying to players about playing time or position changes, we are just a very clean program.  He didn't respond other than to say the kids really like the "Jordan gear".  Also, just the way I inferred this but it sounds like Wheatley may have thrown coach under the bus to some big programs in state and nationally, and he is still very much not happy about the way he was treated.

Bringing back AK from CMU would fix all this IMO.

Lastly, a few weeks ago I mentioned seeing Vilian at practice, unless there are duplicate numbers, or I was mistaken he was practicing a few weeks back.  Coach spoke yesterday about his surgery and being out, so I just wanted to clear that up.  My belief is he was hurt in practice, but it may have been another body all together.

One more thing, coach friend said specifically that JM is a place holder coach and will not be here more than one more year, and he expects if we do not win 9+ this year, coach will go out and hire a true OC this off season.  He referenced the "Michigan way", having an open check book and hiring the best OC statistically that was available, like we did with DonB and BenH.

09/20/2018 - 7:45am Apparently the staff thinks…

Apparently the staff thinks JV might go pro in baseball.  If he's drafted where the experts are expecting (top 5) he could get close to 10m guaranteed, or 30 if he commits to a longer term deal and goes the baseball route immed.  The staff also believes that Harrisson is leaning towards the good guys, along with Keegan, Cine, and KARF.

Sounds like this week of practice was touch and go. A few teaching moments may have been taken differently by some of the backup players.  Not saying anyone quit or is done, but the message was clear: "our way or the highway"

KH was with trainers the first part of the week, but was at weight training and with first team O yesterday. JM was running the Frost-Martinez offense really well, the coaches were having him throw deep balls and hail mary's-a-plenty.  Zordich and coach were very upset with the interference and poor position some of the db's were in last week.  Lot's of teaching moments this week like I said, also plenty of coach Brown screaming about disciplined defense, and staying aggressive but not out of control which leads to flags.

Lots of Glasgow, Woods, and JKP this week rotating in practice, and I'm not sure which freshman it is but one of them was also working in at safety.

The wiggle bug true freshamn rb was working well with JM, and I'm not sure why he is not the backup to Wilson.

The staff has an account, so did AK, Dudek, and Doughtery.  I can promise that.  Also, Mineral didn't break any info about DM, umbig scolded me for breaking that news before they wanted it out almost a month ago. cheers

Asked this morning about shoes.  Sounds like most of the guys being fingered are no longer here.  Just got back from a wedding and have not seen if this is posted anywhere.  Sounds like worst case scenario is only a couple current players and even that is not confirmed.

TI, KW, KC, and RJ were all being thrown about.

08/06/2018 - 3:39pm The reason I said that was…

The reason I said that was listening to CP and DBsr. they are not going to play around this year with poor play.  Almost like coach cal in basketball, a mistake means the bench and another AA is ready to go.  The coaches truly believe that the back end is 5-7 deep and there is not much separation between 1-4.  Word is bhawk and Ambry both are chomping at the bit to play, and JKP is in my opinion the starter by end of the year.

He is squeaky clean, just read vegas odds have Pete C as one of the favorites.  From what the nat'l pundits were saying Day was heavily sought after this offseason, and the reason tOSU gave him a raise.  The hope in Cbus was he would stick around to be the successor, so they must like what they see in him.  BTW, sounds like there are going to be some news outlets who might attack Courtney character.  She's a local girl who went to Thomas Worthington high school and maybe has some small mis-steps in her teen years, but I doubt she is making this up, or making it worse.  Whoever decides to go after her will get chopped up is my guess.  My gut tells me he's the coach for their game at Jerry world week 3 vs. TCU.  Like Mike Martin said on Twitter, "osu is investigating this, see you in November Urban".

08/01/2018 - 3:46pm This is not gossip. Agree he…

This is not gossip. Agree he deserved part of the blame, however the way he handled it and the way the Warinner family was treated was bush league.

08/01/2018 - 2:40pm Coach Wariner and his family…

Coach Wariner and his family live in Powell, Ohio.  The next closest city is Dublin, Ohio. (less than 5 miles)  The two of them were very connected and spent long days and nights together at Woody Hayes, and at each others homes during the season and camp.  Not many people in the Columbus community or coaches like Smith.  He is known as a diva, and a "fire-cracker".  It was also known that Urb protected him and he was an Urb guy. His claim to fame is Michael Thomas (even though he's keyshawn Johnson nephew and it's god given talent, and elite coaching as a child).

Many people wanted him gone for years now, and Urb has continued to protect him.    Some have speculated that this is because of Earl Bruce or because ZS knows where all the bodies are buried.  Not sure if anyone else saw what ZS wife said but it was something like: ZS said if he was ever outed he would take the entire staff at OSU with him.

Back to Wariner for a bit.  He HATES Urban.  Not only did he screw over his kid and not offer him after it was said to be a promise, but he used him as a scapegoat for the team not winning his last year, even though he put more players in the draft than any other position coach during his tenure. The way he spoke to coach Wariner was out of control, and down right disrespectful Another thing that is out there is Vrabel slamming Urb at half time of the Clemson boat race a few years back, he apparently told Urb at that time, "I'm fucking done" and if you're not careful I'll put you in a hospital.

Wariner knew ZS was a shady character, and Mrs. Wariner probably knew that ZS was a domestic abuser.  However, it's pretty clear that almost all the coaches knew this and no one wanted to go head to head with an Urb guy.

AT the end of the day, this will probably lead to a 2 game suspension so OSU can have their coach back for the TCU game in Jerry World.  Or, people will continue to come out of the woodwork, his affair with a co-ed in Gainesville, his BS excuse for leaving UF, all his previous coaches who won't take his call and want to drill him, and that he is a stone cold Liar who will do anything to win, including covering up a domestic.

Columbus use to hate him, and many old players have told me he runs it like a business, where as Tressel ran it like a family, and that they miss JT.  I guess it's true you can never change the stripes on a tiger.

07/17/2018 - 3:01pm Any chance the staff takes a…

Any chance the staff takes a peak at Lorne Bowman?  This kid has been killing it on the AAU front, including this past weekend leading his team (D-Wade style) to a come from behind championship, as clear underdogs.  Wisconsin and some MAC schools are the most interested says google.    @Matt D are you out there for some perspective?

I know this much, he comes from a school that has sent a ton of kids to Michigan the past 20 years.  Their head coach is a huge Michigan fan, and there ast football coach is an x-Michigan QB.  I love the kids game, he reminds me a lot of Colin Sexton or D Wade.  Plays on both ends of the floor, gives 100% at all times, and fills up the stat sheet. Go Blue.

07/10/2018 - 3:02pm Admittedly I'm very bullish…

Admittedly I'm very bullish on him but I think Josh Ross is going to be a great Michigan wolverine, and this year should be his coming out season.  Also, in regards to PSU watch out for KJ Hamler.  Local kid who I wanted soooo badly the coaches to take a run at. Go Blue.

07/08/2018 - 9:23am Thank you.

Thank you.

Got a new job...

Still many friends around the team, and many kids I care strongly about.  Will do my best to get on here more.  I think the new site is great.  Going to poke around more, go blue!

07/08/2018 - 7:49am If this team does not have 2…

If this team does not have 2-3 go in the first round I would be very surprised.  In fact, multiple sites have Shea going 1 overall.  Add in Gary who's also top 5, Bush, Hill, Long, Winovich, and maybe Higdon all should go first 3 rounds.  Going to be a special year.

06/09/2018 - 7:37pm Jordan

06/08/2018 - 8:12am The correct person to ask…

The correct person to ask about this is Mr. Peters.  For those of you who have had the luxury of meeting him, he clearly runs Brandon Peters Inc.  It may make no sense to us fans for him to transfer this year, when all he has to do is finish the year, graduate, and transfer with 2 years of eligibility left.  However, if you remember there was some friction last year and I think after multiple sit downs a plan/strategy was in place for BP.  If for any reason the coaches deviate from the plan set forth I could see things changing quickly.

With that being said, Pep has always been very high on BP, and worked tirelessly with him over the past couple years.  It's hard for me to believe that BP is not at least #2 and most likely still in the running for the starter.

06/01/2018 - 8:10am Bench Mason

Going to get more than 3, he might have 3 against WMU.  Goal line touches all year, he might lead the backs in TD's!

05/23/2018 - 8:52am Jay Harbaugh

Jay is becoming elite on the trail.  Simple.  The jackhammer work ethic is clearly genetic and it's only a matter of time before we start to see his hard work pay off with top-end national talent. "It's not about how bad you want's about how hard you are willing to work for it".

The work he has put into California is incredible.  Our foothold is stronger than it's been in a long time.  De La Salle, Mater Dei, Coronoa, Mission and Chamande to name a few.  Jay has the ability to walk into almost any school on the West Coast and be welcomed with open arms. Most people would assume that is because of his last name, but if you ask the coaches from these schools and others on the trail they will tell you, it's the first name.

I wonder if coach would consider making him the lead recruiter with CP, more in a capacity like Kerry Combs, where he's involved with all the staff top choices?  I know DB and GM have a strong grip on defense, and East coast kids.  However, Jay might be helpful to go to another level..  Another idea would be adding Detroit to his list of responsibilities..

Many of us believe that the Moore and Washington hires have a correlation to GM retiring. Well let me give you one more, and something I truly believe.  Jay Harbaugh is the next coach at the University of Michigan.

05/11/2018 - 7:29am The Staff

Is trying to get ZH to visit on the weekend of June 22-24.  The Hinton bros, and a few other high profile recruits are taking their offical that weekend.  Might just be our biggest recruiting weekend of 2018. Go Blue.

05/09/2018 - 7:43am IF

Shane had a different Dad:

- He would of been on the team last year

- His career at Michigan would have been different

This might comes across very harsh or rude.  However for any of you that have had the pleasure to meet Mr. Morris knows what I'm talking about.  Wore out his welcome with the Hoke regime, also after a week in Bradenton had to be spoken to by multiple support staff and coaches.  Guy needs to take a hike, but I can promise you he will be in Allen Park.

03/24/2018 - 11:21am Curious

What's his uncle's name?

03/24/2018 - 9:07am Nasty!

Me like.

Great to see the boys: DT, JLew, and Delano yesterday.  I can tell you all one thing for sure, they all think we have best 1-2 DB's and WR's in the country.  They were hyping all 4 stud's to multiple NFL guys and other support staff.

03/14/2018 - 1:06pm Surprised no one took

Maurice Searight - Pontiac street legend, oh what could have been

03/09/2018 - 8:07am Not sure

But I saw WS increase his reps and practice time in the weeks leading up to the bowl game.  He went from sideline and training room, to red jersey, to working with the 2's in late December.

Also I wonder if Pep has anything to do with this, and the reason I say that is; it's hard to imagine but if you did not know better and showed up to Schem Hall last season you would be convinced that Pep was BP personal trainer, not one of our coaches.  The two were always together working on things (on and off field) and even in live 11 v 11 Pep stood next to BP behind the LOS off to the side.

I also know that coach was bothered and confused by WS decision.  I guess we will see, but my guess has always been he follows DH or his girlfriend to their school choice.  Tim Lester is a great qb coach and teacher, but not sure it's even an option for WS.

03/09/2018 - 7:26am At the end of the day it's still the qb position

And we still have a porous OL at best.  You can never have enough weapons at qb - i.e. Ohio State , Philly Eagles, Jimmy G and on and on.

Also from what I understand WS wanted to play in the bowl game and was told NO.  I do not think he quit on the team, I think like stated above, he saw the writing on the wall and wanted to play his final year, somewhere.

The one thing that I don't know is where Dmac is in his evolution and understanding of the position for both backup purposes and starter if we have injuries or poor play.  I know coach Brown loves him and he has added nearly 25lbs since getting to AA so maybe he's ready..

After the bowl game I really got down on BP.  I was thoroughly convinced he was going to take the reigns and never look back.  Which was not the case, and although the team did not play great in Tampa, BP missed a bunch of throws and looked scared and overwhelmed to me.

I have not been on the blog for a while, but wondered if any of the upcoming transfers/guys not coming back have been discussed?  Looks like 3-4 more..

02/18/2018 - 7:51am New WR coach McElwain

First orders of business:

a. Figure out what the hell is going on with Grant Perry and either kill it or cure it.

b. Get the #1 off Crawford back immediately, AC thanks you.

c. Work on Jump balls in the end zone for our 3 stud super sophs and TE's.

d. Release the beast Oliver Martin - Breakwater thanks you.

e. Show WR's how to get off the LOS jams better, and run routes that take less than 10 sec

f. Lastly, tie your ship to DPJ like you did Dee Hart, so when he becomes the next OBJ you can take all the credit and get another head job

02/14/2018 - 4:39pm Drew Terrell

Wonder why we didn't promote DT?…

02/11/2018 - 7:51am I agree with you

I agree with you brutus.

However we will most likely not be able to keep him on staff for more than 2 years, especially if he is a wr coach.  Urban for example has found a way to keep Johnson, Schiano, Wilson, Day, and Combs for 3+ years and some much longer.  I know all of those are not x-coaches, but all have their names being thrown around every off season for promotions, yet they all come back.

01/31/2018 - 4:58pm I have many friends on both sides of the aisle, I feel obligated

I am not saying everyone is not guilty or should keep their job, all I have been saying is lets not rehash old public stuff as if it is the end of the world.  Let the investigations play out, lets get the facts, then if Izzo or D have to go they have to go.  Keep in mind none of this was covered up by anyone either - all public.

Coach Mark Dantonio suspended Williams immediately, forcing him to miss spring drills while banned from all team activities for five months.

Williams took a job at a Quality Dairy to help pay for classes and stay on track to graduate after Dantonio took things a step further, stripping him of his scholarship and dropping him so far down on the depth chart that he didn't get to play until the sixth game of the season.

Kings was sentenced to 13 months probation in July. He was suspended by MSU for all of the 2014 spring football program, which led to his being buried in the depth chart and struggling for playing time during the season.

Winston (FYI I am friends with the hockey player he punched - he also got a second chance because of his upbringing and the fact that he showed up to campus with everything he owned in two meijers bags)

"Roderick Jenrette and Glenn Winston have been dismissed from the football team for violation of team rules," Dantonio said in a statement issued late Tuesday afternoon.

Winston missed the next three games, but Dantonio allowed him to play in the regular-season finale at Penn State.

However, Dantonio didn't allow Winston to accompany the team to the Capital One Bowl in Orlando, Fla. or participate in the offseason conditioning program or spring practice.

01/30/2018 - 5:13pm Travis Walton statement

He deserves to have his side of the story as well, and if all true this sucks for this young man.  I question the timing, I think this statement from him should have come out 3 or 4 days ago, not after he met with MSU attorneys, but then again who am I to say.

01/29/2018 - 6:02pm Not sure I would have picked

Not sure I would have picked that one, seeing you have 98 choices, but go ahead young man!

01/26/2018 - 8:08am Salvage the week

J Patterson

and Otis to fill out the banana boat

2 weeks to sign day

01/25/2018 - 8:04pm I was told WS leaving really

I was told WS leaving really bothered coach.  As much as we all may want him to go, I'm of the opinion that coach thought WS was the starter going into next year before all the Shea business.  Falk and Fisch spoke to WS both in depth to try and understand his decision and if there was anything that could help change his mind.  After that bowl game, if we are all honest with ourselves WS probably gives us the best chance to win next year assuming Shea not eligible.  I do not think he is coming back, but this would explain a lot.  Kenny Allen was in today and made it sound like WS was going to be in California with him next week.  I'm not sure if WS is taking classes or not.

Some very important people that work in Schem Hall think Shea and all the ole Miss boys are going to be eligible for whatever that is worth.

01/23/2018 - 7:52am He's the kid that tries sooo hard

Both in sports and with the ladies, but never gets picked.

Dudek camp thinks they are going to get at worst one of Anderson and Patterson.  It also sounds like Barrett has a committable offer but that he may decide to pursue the qb route which would give gatech, or Nebraska the lead (fsu maybe).

Swim lanes are in full effect and NPF is obviously the top guy, followed by Anderson.

Otis is in his own pool and they do feel good about him (I know this is posted everywhere)

Lastly, apparently the staff hit it out of the park this week for a 19 kid who went to Kwity Paye high school.  Their HS coach has a man crush on JH and DB and also has spoken about a camp this summer.

01/18/2018 - 5:06pm Brandon

Brandon Peters and Pep have a very strong relationship.  You could argue that Pep is Brandon coach, he works with him more than 75% of the time based on what I have seen.  I'm not saying one has anything to do with another, however.  If Shea is ruled not eligible, Pep staying on is probably what we all want.  Pep can and will if given the chance make BP better.  I know some think that even a great BP is probably not beating out Shea and after the bowl game admittedly that is where my mind has begun to go.

01/14/2018 - 12:41pm Arizona passes on Niumatalolo

Keep an eye out on some Michigan connections abundant:

Go get em Trey

01/13/2018 - 11:50am What worries me

Is that it appears we have decided that Friday is going to do what he's going to do.

I know Sam said Mattison is not retiring, but I have heard something much different, and we have max 2 more years of his services.

JH and Enos were in Kansas to see a wisc commit

Dudek on west coast to visit Jarrett Patterson and in Florida today to see Petit-frere

Pep making his rounds in the D

Mattison in Germany

I mean when coach wants someone, he becomes that jack hammer, he pulls out all the stops. I know he got killed for sleeping over the kicker house, and climbing trees, but we got both those kids.  He also went hard for Ambry and Solomon.

If we see D Brown and coach get in front of Friday this week or next than maybe there is hope, but the facts seem to suggest we have moved on and he gone.
