Oh damnit. Mahomes.
January 21st, 2023 at 6:22 PM ^
It's OK. I'm sure nobody moticed.
January 21st, 2023 at 6:24 PM ^
You're right, I think I might get lucky and it will squeak thru unnoticed.
January 21st, 2023 at 8:10 PM ^
It's a repeat of two years ago against the Browns. Mahomes likes to wait until the divisional round to stress-test the squad.

Username spelling checks out.
January 21st, 2023 at 10:14 PM ^
The nice thing about misspelling a username in a deliberate but very readable way is that it's always available.
January 21st, 2023 at 8:42 PM ^
Oops. Misfire. What I get for making fun of somebody else.
January 22nd, 2023 at 9:49 AM ^
And they go on with the gahe! Now they may have to play the chahpionship in a dohe.

This quote from Mahomes should be sent to every 5* QB.

Good update, too bad you started coughing at the end
January 21st, 2023 at 5:30 PM ^
I love watching him. It's like being back in college all over again.
January 21st, 2023 at 5:56 PM ^
Tirico on the call. Just like the old days: https://youtu.be/Ja1QAi3ZL8s
Called him a "Michigan Man" from the jump.
January 21st, 2023 at 5:30 PM ^
Was this Mahohes guy any good?
I hope Henne plays well.
But that flag for roughing was crap...

Been asked 10x times today if I know about MW.
I know absolutely nothing, but the rumor swirling around is that MW accessed or attempted to access CM email, in an attempt to prove his theory correct that CM was recruiting EA and others to Iowa. Again, no clue if it's true.
JD comin'
Cheers
January 21st, 2023 at 5:46 PM ^
Interesting theory and i Hope it’s correct. Would paint a far, far better pic about MW than what was feared
January 21st, 2023 at 9:12 PM ^
Why would Weiss need to do that? What would it accomplish when the players were already gone? And course Cade tried to recruit his buddy, and there's nothing against the rules about that. Also: the young folks don't communicate via email, you know. And Cade would no longer have had access to his UM account once he left. It would have been closed.
January 21st, 2023 at 10:05 PM ^
@umich email accounts don’t get deleted if you graduate or stop enrolling. There is a significant grace period, so Cade would definitely still have had access. Much like coaches, players can’t tamper. If Cade was negatively speaking about UM and trying to recruit current players before they entered the portal, that is certainly not allowed. There is so much wrong with your post I just don’t feel like going through it all.
January 21st, 2023 at 10:08 PM ^
Was logging in to make the point about email remaining active months or even beyond a year after last enrollment/day worked at many schools but you were faster. Also, interesting point about the timing of communication between CM and EA. This does seem to be some needless cloak and dagger shit that ran afoul to FERPA.
January 22nd, 2023 at 8:15 AM ^
Just because the email account remains valid for months, and not deleted, does not mean Cade would have had access. It's standard procedure to disable login accounts after a person leaves an organization. I don't know what Michigan's policies are around that, or if they even care if an ex-student continues to use it - they may not if there's no way to determine if a student could enroll again. But it means nothing that the account wasn't deleted...
January 21st, 2023 at 10:22 PM ^
I think the implication was, during the season, after he got benched.

Colonel Mustard uses email? Weird!

Of course Colonel Mustard uses email! Get a Clue, man!

ok, I truly lol'd at that comment. I almost did a spit take with my water.
January 21st, 2023 at 6:03 PM ^
Still, that would be so dumb. What if his suspicions were true? UM couldn’t have done anything about it, players can communicate with other players if they want to. Did he risk his job to satisfy his curiosity??
January 21st, 2023 at 6:09 PM ^
The cops don’t surround your house for something like that, lol. Unfortunately, I’d bet it’s something way worse, otherwise he wouldn’t have been fired so quickly
January 21st, 2023 at 6:45 PM ^
It would hardly be the first time cops were overzealous in pursuing a suspect. It's hard to think of any crime accessing someone's email that warrants cops surrounding your house.
January 21st, 2023 at 6:23 PM ^
He needed to commit a crime to prove a theory that's obviously true? How stupid, if true.
January 21st, 2023 at 6:49 PM ^
This whole schtick is tired.
January 22nd, 2023 at 7:16 AM ^
I love a good GoJ post. Not tired at all.
January 22nd, 2023 at 12:24 AM ^
God your comments are so unnecessarily annoying.
January 22nd, 2023 at 10:22 AM ^
Nice thread-jack.
How about sticking to the subject of the OP? This garbage has absolutely nothing to do with Chad Henne, "Mahohes", or the NFL playoff game being discussed.
January 21st, 2023 at 5:48 PM ^
Henne has the best job in pro football, as a backup to Mahomes. Then he goes out and shows why he ain't no ordinary backup.
Funny thing is, he's played for both teams competing today and he was a starter and a backup with the Jaguars.
January 21st, 2023 at 5:56 PM ^
Being a backup QB in general is a good job. You can't just be a scrub off the street; good NFL backups have to be ready to step in and run the offense, and be good enough to win games if the starter goes down.
Of course, you're not good enough to get away with being lazy or a locker room problem. You basically have to accept that you're a backup and that your job is to be ready to be at your absolute best for a moment that may never arrive.
But if you can do that (and Henne is a guy who can do that) it's a great job you can hold for many years.
January 21st, 2023 at 8:44 PM ^
Todd Collins was a backup for like 20 years. Between Collins and Brady UofM QBs who make the NFL have to have the longest tenure on average.
January 22nd, 2023 at 7:20 AM ^
Those dudes made a shit ton of money and didn't have to get the snot beat out them. Throw Charlie Batch in there too. If you can get a gig like that, being a backup QB in the NFL is one of the greatest jobs in the world. All of three of these guys though have had to come in on occasion and win some football games.
January 22nd, 2023 at 11:07 AM ^
Jim Sorgi. I have no idea how he was able to hold onto his job though. Every time I saw him come in for Peyton it was bad. Really bad.
January 21st, 2023 at 5:30 PM ^
Brady and Henne have a combined 8 Super Bowl rings.
January 21st, 2023 at 5:32 PM ^

TD pass HENNE!!!

Who needs Mahohes? We've got Chad!! Go Blue!
January 21st, 2023 at 6:57 PM ^
this Mahohes guy is going to get Wally Pipp'd by a guy with an AARP card
January 22nd, 2023 at 10:00 AM ^
Dude, I am older than Henne and I do not have an AARP card.
January 22nd, 2023 at 12:10 AM ^
I've seen this script before. A starting QB is injured, his Michigan backup comes in and wins the Super Bowl, wresting control of the team away the following year. Six more Super Bowl championships later, and Chad Henne will consider retiring.
January 21st, 2023 at 5:33 PM ^
What a drive! 98 yards when coming in cold!!
January 21st, 2023 at 5:33 PM ^
Chad with the TD let’s go!!
January 21st, 2023 at 5:35 PM ^
Will never forget watching Henne absolutely abuse Urban and Heisman winner Tebow in the 2008 Capital One Bowl. All time performance. One of the best games I've attended.
January 21st, 2023 at 6:34 PM ^
Remember the crazy catch by Arrington? Or the safety blitz by Jamar Adams that absolutely wrecked Tebow? My god, that was a great game. Can you imagine if they opened up the offense like that before?
January 21st, 2023 at 6:53 PM ^
Can you imagine if they opened up the offense like that before?
This is the UM equivalent of the infamous “just wait until next year” I’ve been hearing about the Lions since ‘71
