I think Franz was a Beilein…

I think Franz was originally a Beilein recruit who stuck with Juwan. Franz was also a legacy of sorts.

Crazy to me so many people…

Crazy to me so many people think Moore is just gonna roll the dice in his first year with some totally unproven career backup QB — while facing the country’s hardest schedule. None of the guys on the roster are top-tier starters.  I’d put it at 100 percent Moore is intensely scouting for a transfer. To do otherwise would be beyond foolish. Transfer incoming. Rudock it.

Crazy to me how many people…

Crazy to me how many people here think Moore plans to kick off his career with a no-name QB w

Not to be the Debbie Downer,…

Not to be the Debbie Downer, but didn't OSU's running game underperform over the past couple seasons?

Yeah, that was years ago…

Yeah, that was years ago. They've had nothing but passers since then. The game changes. Nobody wins with a QB who can't pass.

Except for the whole passing…

Except for the whole passing thing.

Strongly disagree. When a…

Strongly disagree. When a good QB1 at a mid program sees he could walk straight into a starting spot at Michigan, a la Jake Rudock, that will shake him loose. You're underestimating the degree to which CFB has become the Wild West. Literally anything could happen.

It would ultimately be best…

It would ultimately be best for JJ to not go in the top 10. Get with a decent team. Sit for a year or two. Don’t get broken.

No question he lost some…

No question he lost some speed over the past 2 years. This result feels accurate.

Precisely. Wanted players to…

Precisely. Wanted players to get a piece of the pie isn't the same as allowing a totally unregulated, quasi-illegal shadow economy. There must be rules and transparency and governance -- same as in any professional sport. This is just ridiculous.

Why would anyone at this…

Why would anyone at this point trust Hole’s reporting?

Looks like 5 or 6 guys might…

Looks like 5 or 6 guys might have benefitted from staying 1 more year. Mostly guys we anticipated. Trente being the exception.

Thanks for posting an…

Thanks for posting an article we shouldn’t read.

I knew Denard had no future…

I knew Denard had no future as a QB. But he seemed like a he could be a fine RB. Seems mayve his playing QB in college limited his development for the pro game.

In his playing days, he had…

In his playing days, he had a bunch of legal issues involving alcohol and an incident in which he allegedly grabbed a female cop. But the last incident was like 20-25 years ago, so...

Overly bullish. Most players…

Overly bullish. Most players who want to leave were not going to leave during this window bc it was too late in the academic calendar. Some will go when the next portal window opens. But hopefully not many.

It’s all just noise. It will…

It’s all just noise. It will end with a settlement in which FSU leaves and the league disbands.

So the basketball coach some…

So the basketball coach some how has far more restrictions than the football coaches, who just won a title? I don't think so.

And Texas is coached by Sark…

And Texas is coached by Sark and playing in the SEC. Law of averages says Texas won't repeat last year's record.

I wouldn't go so far as to…

I wouldn't go so far as to just accept a 4-loss season. Not with our returning defense. I'm thinking the regular-season floor is 3 losses and the likeliest scenario is 2.

Big games: OSU, Texas, Oregon, USC, Wash. The last 2 are likely wins. The first 3 are very tough. But we just need to win 1 out of those 3, which seems reasonable.

And I think we land a starting QB, WR, and CB from the portal.

10-2. CFP.

A Michigan player who wants…

A Michigan player who wants to start had to go to Alabama to do that.

Net win.

I don't think speculating on…

I don't think speculating on what players might leave, based on no information, is helpful.

Humblebragging alert.

Humblebragging alert.

I'd be genuinely interested…

I'd be genuinely interested to know how many people who use this blog are actively interested in the hockey team. I have a feeling it's a small percentage relative to how much coverage it gets here. But I could absolutely be wrong. I have no issue with the fact that hockey gets a good bit of attention here, even though my interest in the team is roughly equivalent to my interest in the M baseball team -- passive at best. As an alum, I know dozens of fairly rabid M football and basketball fans. But I only know one hockey fan. I'm wondering if that's typical, and wonder if there's any data on this.

I credit anyone who…

I credit anyone who overcomes addiction (although my understanding is that he refuses to acknowledge his alcholism — definite red flag there). But he’s always seemed like an asshole.

Fuck Sark. He’ll go back to…

Fuck Sark. He’ll go back to being 8-4 Sark in the SEC.

There's been no talk of…

There's been no talk of transfer because the portal isn't open yet.

None of them will be QB1…

None of them will be QB1. Raback it!

You say this as if it's a…

You say this as if it's a given. Orji has thrown 1 pass in his career, and Tuttle was a middling starter for Indiana. This doesn't make me especially confident.

Due respect to all of them,…

Due respect to all of them, but there's not a QB1 favorite among them at this point. Still would be surprised if we don't pull a transfer from the next portal. I'd bet we do.

Posts like this feel…

Posts like this feel intrusive by drawing attention to something Hart wants to handle privately. Also, the net effect is that it invites rumor and speculation.

Did Tennessee have good…

Did Tennessee have good linebackers? I don’t think of the Vols as a defensive juggernaut.

That’s a lot of wishcasting.

That’s a lot of wishcasting.

It has everything to do with…

It has everything to do with money.

Love how this guy above just…

Love how this guy above just divines what each of those transfer guys were thinking. Um, dude, they rarely SAY thy transferred primarily for the money. That SOUNDS BAD. They always say i did it to win, etc.

Finally players who want to win don’t transfer AWAY from Bama. They transfer TO Bama.

That poster has to be a troll because he got everything wrong in a way that puts OSU in the most favorable light

Yes! This guy appears to…

Yes! This guy appears to fill two crucial needs: Very good position coach and excellent recruiter. He evidently excels at finding somewhat under-the-radar guys who end up as NFL-caliber players. Exactly what we need.

No problem at all with guys…

No problem at all with guys who transfer. Big problem with ones who transfer to OSU. Guy must be really bitter he never played. And OSU is only taking him as a spy.

Solid.

Solid.

UCLA must have a few solid…

UCLA must have a few solid transfer candidates. And the academics match. Let's go raid 'em.

PS: I live near UCLA. Its support in the city is roughly akin to support for the Chargers. Angelenos who do like CFB -- and there are some -- generally root for USC. And having a stadium an hour from campus is a disaster. Plus the AD is cash-poor.

That being said, UCLA could be a sleeping giant given the right coach. There's SO MUCH talent in SoCal, and the school itself is great. Really bizarre nobody has been able to fix this.

Daisies are pretty.

Daisies are pretty.

You’re right. Yet 20 people…

You’re right. Yet 20 people here will blame Warde.

I’ve had the same question…

I’ve had the same question. It’s disappointing he hasn’t used the opportunity to speak up. Kind of leaves a big question mark otherwise.

No. Hunter left to chase the…

No. Hunter left to chase the bag. He basically said as much.

Barstool doesn't do real…

Barstool doesn't do real reporting; it's a fan-site for frat boys that's run by the most embarrassing Michigan fan in the world.

Can't imagine why someone…

Can't imagine why someone would rather live in Ann Arbor than enchanting Norman, Oklahoma.

Come on, OP. It's not that…

Come on, OP. It's not that hard.

Um, there’s no way to…

Um, there’s no way to control this BEFORE the HC bolts for the NFL and starts poaching with huge contracts. You can’t prevent coaches from leaving and wouldn’t want to. And you can’t interview replacements when you don’t known who’s leaving. Use critical thinking.

Correct. Also the…

Correct. Also the conventional wisdom, fwiw, is that Clink’s greatest value was as a recruiter.

Why would a guy tell players…

Why would a guy tell players he’s staying BEFORE a DC — his direct boss — was hired? I don’t buy it. Maybe he thought he’d get the gig? But still. Don’t make an announcement before you know the lay of the land.
