What do you want to see against the Fightin' Fickells?

Submitted by ShruteBeetFarms on

UC is coming off a 26-14 win against the Austin Peay Governors. The team stats of the game are not impressive so this should be an easy victory. Aside from no injuries, I'd like to see a dominant offensive line performance and to see what Kareem Walker can do. I also wouldn't mind seeing some Brandon Peters action once Speight and O'Korn are done for the day.

What do you want to see?

that team is simply not good right now.  I think Fickell gets them going, but it will take awhile to undo the Tsunami of damage done by Tommy Tuberville.

The analogy for Saturday is 2016's game between Michigan (very good B1G team) against UCF (traditionally good AAC team but right now a severly damaged program just beginning the rebuilding process).

51-14 was the score of that one and is also a reasonable guess for Saturday.

UC is a bad team who played a bad game against a very bad team. Badness all around. This is the home opener. I'll be surprised if UC scores double digit points and if we're held under 50. Spread is 31.5 and if I bet on Michigan games I'd take us all day. 42-10 kinda sounds like worst case scenario. This game will not be close.

I do like the above analogy about using a shorter passing game. I questioned why we were throwing so far down field on some plays. Look for the offense to really flash and dominate against cincy.

What I want to see against Cincy is not letting them cross the fifty yard line and fifteen sacks. That's two things, but with this defense I reserve the right to be selfish.

Seriously, I want this young team to make more mistakes, but not the mistakes they made against Florida. They are bound to overshoot the target *ahem* QB, blow some coverages, and miss some deep shots. I don't want that to happen when they face PSU, Wisky, etc. I want them to make lots of mistakes, struggle, and pull through with lots of game film to study. In short, I want to see improvement in all phases of the game each and every week.

Most importantly, JUST WIN!!!

I want to see the game so in hand that the box score looks like the DJI in the WSJ with names and statistics for all of the good guys. A lot of hard work and pain was afflicted on everyone in August, and it is time everyone gets a little payback and eats.

I want DPJ to take a punt return to the house. I wanna see Peters in there dropping dimes. Screw Okorn. I want the online to dominate so the yards per rush is around 6-7 yards...,defense, more of the same!

As a sidenote, I think we need to be a little more stingy with throwing out the potential for Rutgers level beatdowns. That was a once in a generation annhilation. 78 point margin and with an even turnover margin if I recall correctly. 600 yards to 39. No first downs until the 4th quarter. 2 for 18 passing. Essentially, they could not move the ball forward. Not sure we'll see that again for quite a while.

This will be like a Hawaii/Maryland/UCF level beatdown, which is still a pretty severe beating.

A shutout.    100 yards from Ty Isaac.   Good showings from other RBs.    Touchdowns from young WR's.  Drake Harris at CB.   Wilton so efficient he isn't noticed and we aren't talking about him next week at this time.

49-0.

That's going to be the big challenge over the next two weeks. Also, see improvement from Ulizio or at least continuing competition. More from Wheatley and Bunting.

O-Line dominating, Wilton playing like an All American QB like he usually does against inferior competition.  More from the TE's especially Eubanks.  No ball spinning from anyone.  DPJ to the house.  Extreme domination from the defense and special teams.

We're probably going to paste them. I just don't want to see someone critical to our whole season go down in a snoozer of a game. Please wrap Hurst, Hudson, the entire OL, etc. in bubble wrap for the duration of the game

Just Speight completing about 60% of his passes, no INTs. At least 1 catch by DPJ. No fumbles by the RBs. Just play mistake-free ball. Vegas has UM at -34 right now. We don't need a blowout. Just solidify for the B1G season.

Speight hit some check downs in the flat to some of our RB's. That play was pretty much open anytime he wanted it. Want to see how our RB's handle a one on one in space.

1. Win

2. No major injuries

3. Speight plays so well, he sits the second half . JOK/Peters spilt series in the second half.

4. a Don Brown shutout

5. 300+ yards rushing

Solomon, Paye, Woods, Ross, & Thomas

I know Mo only had a cramp but still scray -  the depth behind our stud players needs to get some PT and here's to hoping they ball. I noticed Woods, Thomas, and Ross all on Special Teams, I assume they get a ton of 2nd half burn.  If Hudson and Bush play like they did this week, take them out at the end of the first half and let Glasgow and wrobo get some burn.  Our depth to me is extremely important, and getting these young boys some snaps the next 2 weeks is paramount.

On stuff he needs to learn. Run to his side more and give him chances to get his technique going. Give WS reps on deep looks and fades. Give cover guys some one on one experience. Reps for likely depth guys at DB and OL.

If I were a Michigan fan, I'd want to see a dominant O-line, both run blocking and pass protection. If the O-line is to be competitive against the best defenses it faces, it will need to dominate against opponents like these.

Also, the talk of Kareem Walker and even Peters, or any other backup QB, is premature. I think it would be best for Speight to get at least 3 quarters of game action with his new receiving corps. Speight learning to connect with Black, DPJ, & others in game action will help their continuity in preparation for games that really matter.

Playing Walker & Peters now may help come next September, but Speight & his receivers growing in mutual confidence will help this year's team in October & November.
