Jim McElwain: "They whooped us. Plain and simple."

Jim McElwain: “Their guys were bigger and stronger. They whooped us. Plain and simple.”

“I thought we had a good plan obviously. As it turned out, the plan was pretty well foiled by getting whooped.”

I recommend that you do read it.

You will feel better, just seeing the contrast about what other teams say about our game plan and our players after a game.  This has been a sore spot for us for years.

It took a while, but we did learn from the past.

Lest we ever forget, Harbaugh is our once-in-a-lifetime unicorn.

One look at Florida shows you what could have happened to us.  Hell, we were looking at Mullen as plan B.

We hit the lottery folks, and these quotes show it.

No need to hide it, it's a thing to be celebrated.

Michigan probably just beat the future SEC East division champions.

Georgia and South Carolina are going to be contenders, but Florida's defense is probably going to get a lot better under Shannon.

He could end up at Florida after the season. MacElwain seems overwhelmed by the moment. Kinda like Brady Hole was. You think he's a better coach than Hoke, but can't find a QB.

But why is anyone giving him credit for this? Sharks aside he's just a shit coach who got this job by riding Saban's coattails and admits to a lot of ass whoopings. Huzzah for him.

That seems a little too strong.

He's not Spurrier or Meyer but he's 19-9 at Florida without a legit QB. And he might win a 3rd straight division title. Hardly anything to scoff at...

I wonder how he would do if he could find a QB woth a damn. Feleipe Franks impressed me in his limited snaps but he's too young and needs game experience. Kid had no chance against our defense (which is looking like a top-5 defense).

This is an "offensive" coach with a consistently uninspiring and predictable gameplan (not just us, against everybody) playing in a weak division. He was able to inherit a very good defense that has stayed very good but he hasn't moved the needle for them at all. At some point it's not that all of the four star QBs failed the coach, it's that the coach failed all of the four star QBs.

story-line? Michigan's defense is elite, top 5. Michigan's offense is developing with huge upside given the youth weapons. Also, Ty Isaac is a man amongst boys in 2017. He will be the surprise RB of the year ... Go Blue!

that was irrelevant in 2016.  If we win the conference title, we'll go to the CFP in 99 percent of scenarios no matter who we beat in the non-conf.

Florida could go 4-8 and we'll still be in the CFP with a conf title.  Just win.

EDIT: Ok, I guess it could matter if we end up losing the div to PSU or OSU and end up getting an invite at 11-1 despite not winning the conf like OSU last year.  So more like we need them to be last years Oklahoma.

Go Gators!

"Sometimes the simplest stat says it all. Florida could not move the ball on the ground or threw the air on a Michigan defense which replaced 10 starters. The only UF touchdowns came from the defense on a pair of pick-sixes."

I admit to being bitchy in the moment during the game, but looking back on it now, I can't help but wonder if - minus those two pick-six plays - what sort of a drubbing we essentially gave Florida for those who merely look at scores (we drubbed them fairly well regardless).
