1.  Start at the Diag and show them the Grad Library reading room

2.  Tour the Law Quad and the new Ross B-School followed by lunch at Dominick's

3.  Walk down Hill past Pizza Bob's, Campus Corners, etc to Michigan Stadium

Ton of other options, but that is a nice morning to early afternoon walking tour if good weather.  Enjoy and Go Blue !!!

Higdon is jacked for 2018 season.  Dude wants an NFL shot for his kid.  This is a unique story worthy of our support.  Herbert has set him up for peak performance based upon his photos he is in the best condition of his young life.  Within the 2018 RPO / Power system he and Evans are going to RIP the B1G.  Mark it down.  2500+ yards in RB production.  Go Blue !!!

Not really ... check it daily for new content or interesting board postings just like before the change.  Much better format for scrolling on one's iPhone but on a desktop, laptop or even my iPad lot's of white space and advertising ... tougher to navigate on those devices but content is still good so I can deal with it.  We will see when the season gets in full swing if the meaty content with GIFs and video is easier / faster to view.  Jury is still out I guess, but I think that kind of content will be faster to view which (if so) will be a big improvement.

Well, that would need to be from Heaven given Gerry is long gone.  But great picture in the OP.  I grew up two streets over from the Fords in GR.  He was not around very much given all his commitments in DC, but Gerry was a great rep of Western Michigan and for UM.  God bless his fine soul.  Go Blue !!!

Julius' build reminds me of Glasgow coming out of high school.  After Julius is in Herbert's strength program for 2+ years he could easily carry 300lbs on that frame and be really tough to handle at DT with that length and athleticism.

My opinion - he is not a tackle.  This kid is a playmaker, either on defense (DE) or offense (TE).

Better TE than Butt ... same length / athleticism and equal catch radius however +++ as a blocker / enforcer compared to Butt.  Aiden could be Gronk-like.  Could become a 1st/2nd round TE draft pick but at DE he would get lost in the mix ... to long for the anchor and not twitchy enough for the weak-side.  Great player no the less and happy he is a Wolverine.  Go Blue !!!

07/12/2018 - 9:37pm One man's view ... Aiden is…

One man's view ... Aiden is a potential All-American and All-Pro ... but at Tight End.  That length and athleticism is not a great fit at either DE spot imo, plus we are stacked at strong and weak side DE.  They took down his TE film, but I watched it last year and said ... "holy shit, this kid is the next Gronk".  That is my opinion on Aiden's best future in the NFL - catch, block, and bad-ass enforcement.

Maybe he just wants out of Columbus, you know see the world from a different angle and grow up his own man.  Isn't that what college is all about?  If that is what he wants, he will have the choice of multiple top football programs not in Columbus, Ohio.

I knew Mel Owens from my time in West Quad and were in the same friend group with Rick Leach and his Flint buddies.  Damn those were good times being a Michigan student.  Athletes were just your basic friends in that era without the handlers of today.  I would go to the Old IM building during that era and play pickup basketball games with Dave Baxter and Steve Grote in the offseason.  I mean those guys played in the 1976 finals versus that Indiana squad with Scott May and Benson!  Great memories. The University of Michigan is the greatest college experience a student can have in my humble opinion.

Go Blue !!!

Is Herron really a take any longer?  I mean his commitment has been lukewarm at best and his performance at the Opening stunk.  He may have burned the bridge early on and the further evaluation has not been positive.  Just a gut observation based on rumors of a Herron decommit following the Opening plus the Ojabo commitment.

No optics here - took a backup plan to tryout for the minor leagues in case the NFL thing does not work out.  The means absolutely nothing to his commitment to football.

Let's get real Shea's Rangers "contract" is not any where near first round money like $5MM.  It is basically $0 ... maybe he gets a free bus ride to the minor league complex, hotel accomodations and food expenses.  That is f-ing it ... a minor league tryout.

This quote ... "He started the day off with a bang and had the top testing score in the event with a 125.70 Rating. At a rocked out 5-11, 195 pounds, Johnson clocked a 4.48-40, 4.17 shuttle, threw the power ball 47.5’ and jumped 35” in the vertical."  I mean that is crazy good for a safety.  Sign him up ASAP!!!

Ranger's contract is place-setter in case that NFL career does not pan out ... that baseball contract at his draft position isn't worth much more than an expense-paid minor league tryout.

Jaybaugh is on fire.

06/29/2018 - 11:19pm Jay Harbaugh is an up and…

Jay Harbaugh is an up and coming coach.  His TE group is elite.  His RB group is developing, but 4 star Zach C is true elite compared to Wheatley's recruits.  Like Walker was a complete bust which is not on Jay's watch.  Jay Harbaugh is a really good position coach and recruiter.

From Dad Regan's Wiki page:

"(Regan) Upshaw, who did not play football until his sophomore year at Pittsburg HS (CA), was a Parade All-America as a senior. He chose the University of California and by his junior year was named All-American."

Interesting they were both late starters - Dad's rise was meteoric.  Taylor seems cut from same mold in terms of size / body type ... seems like a good boom / bust gamble guy.

Any player invited to the Opening is elite.  Unless the Opening has lost is scouting mojo this kid is a legit composite 4 star recruit.

Brown is reloading his defense. That is the sign of great coaching ... recruit top players that fit your scheme.  Mazi is a perfect DT fit for Brown's attacking style.  Hope we can hang on to Herron because this could be one of the best single-year DL hauls in a while.  Each - of Hinton, Herron and Brown - could be in the rotation as true freshmen.

DJ is going to get his 4th star once he attends The Opening.  Really like his film.  Projects like a natural FS - great angles, fast closer in space, covers like a CB and likes to hit.  He and Hinton are good friends.  More like-minded players are going to commit soon.  Last weekend must have been dynamite.  Go Blue !!!

06/14/2018 - 10:08pm Harbaugh is just stirring…

Harbaugh is just stirring the pot for summer competition.  In reality this is just bluster by the coaches.  Like when Zordich was blasting Hill.  Come on man, Hill is the best corner in the B1G ... wait maybe Long is better?  Yes, sir they be the two top, elite f-ing best in the nation.  Some walk-on WR McCurry is just bluster to make scholarship guys work harder this summer.  He will never see the field.

06/14/2018 - 4:57pm Mistake was we took too many…

Mistake was we took too many WRs and RBs early on.  We needed more OL numbers to get a decent stable of raw material in place.  Now we are jettisoning WRs and RBs from those early classes.  Should have built more OL depth early on given the big recruiting classes.

06/04/2018 - 7:42am IDK ...

Harbaugh turned the program around instantly, with Hoke's players. Adding Rudock was key to the first season. Going 28-11 in his first 3 seasons versus Hoke's 20-18 previous 3 seasons is all Harbaugh coaching. Getting to the next level to win the B1G title and play in the CFP will take elite recruiting plus time to develop those players. Only big gripe on the recruiting front is OL which is all on Drevno. Adding Shea addresses team QB weaknesses, especially given the OL pass pro struggles. If Shea stays both years (and healthy), I think we win the B1G title in 2019. The 2018 schedule is brutal and the young WRs are still developing, yet I think we will give every team on our schedule a battle given the defense could be elite. The offense will improve in 2018, but good enough to beat both MSU and OSU on the road? We will see. Go Blue !!!

06/01/2018 - 8:45pm Purdue now has ...

Boilermaker Bagmen ?

05/29/2018 - 3:19pm Seems like Wisconsin is the most ...

under-rated given the #1 OL in the country, stud soph RB and veteran QB plus that defense is always rock solid (if not elite).  This team is built for the B1G schedule.  And they did finish 13-1 last year and have most of the key players back.  To me, I would put Wisconsin as the pre-season B1G favorite maybe even ahead of OSU (JT is a tough act to replace).

The most over-rated team is MSU.  They over-achieved in 2017 and should come down to earth in 2018.  Lewerke will be contained by B1G DCs now that they have everything on film and Scott has just too many miles on his body ... both guys suffer behind a meh OL.  The MSU defense is solid but not good enough to carry the offense if it sputters and doesn't get the same imbalance of good luck they received in 2017.

05/27/2018 - 7:23pm This is good ...

Warinner is the Mattison for the OL ... whatever either guys wants turns to gold !

05/23/2018 - 10:58am Me, too ...

I was a huge fan of Peters after Speight went down and when he finally got the chance to start he was progressing well until the OL sent him to the hospital.  Now he is spooked and played terrible in the Bowl game.  Sometimes, getting ear-holed can really create game-day demons that are tough to shake.  Cases in point - JOK developed happy feet with accuracy issues, Peters lost his confidence and even the veteran Speight looked spooked in the pocket.

My hope is Shea has the skill set to manage a game with less than ideal pass protection ... his 152 QBR at Ole Miss is highly encouraging given the putrid OL they had, but that Alabama game tempers my ultimate expectations because our OL couldn't handle Alabama's crazy-good pass rush either.  So will we contend for the B1G title in 2018?  Maybe, but that schedule is brutal.  Will we contend for the CFP in 2018?  Not likely, only because our OL can't compete at an elite level versus the likes of Alabama.

I think the OL will continue to struggle in pass pro against the better DLs we face ... ND, MSU, UW, PSU and OSU.  However, if Shea stays healthy I think he can help us pull off at least 3 wins out of that bunch and put us in the hunt for the B1G title.  Beating both MSU and OSU on the road will take some exceptionally strong playmaking on his part.  But this year given the QB upgrade it is definitely possibe ... Go Blue !!!

for at least 10 years as the next 7 are likely lucky.

05/21/2018 - 11:58am LT and pass pro is the key ...

assuming Shea is the starter, protecting his blind-side is critical.  He appears to be a great playmaker when things break-down, but that left side can't constantly be an issue or he will get happy feet like JOK or get injured like Speight/Peters.  Harbaugh's offense is not the quick-hitting spread so routes demand some time to develop.  The RBs are going to need to improve pass pro alot to make JBB or Runyan serviceable on stunts and blitzes.  There are a lot of good defensive minded teams on our schedule, which really concerns me.  Like last year, this offense could be all over the map and prone to lapses in quality.  Hopefully, having Shea allows the coaches to scheme around that weakness.  And with our defense, we should be in every ballgame into the fourth quarter.  So 8-4 seems unlikely again but that schedule is a real challenge.  There are potential toss-up games in each of the ND, MSU, PSU, UW and OSU games with NWU on the road as a trap game.  Winning 3 out of those 6 games seems very doable based upon what we know today - heck, winning 4 or even 5 of those games is not a huge stretch if Shea pans out as a true playmaker.  However, if pass pro is a disaster and/or Shea gets injured losing 4 or even 5 of those games is a possibility.

I worked summers in construction and was an officer in my fraternity - that work paid for 4-yrs of in-state U-M tuition, room, board and beer money. Today that same high earning job would need 28 summers to pay for the same college expenses. On a relative to earnings basis college is 7x more expensive today than fifty years ago ... in fifty more years of that hyper-inflation, academia as we know it will crumble.
