Anyone have ideas on replacements for Fisch?
Other than Greg Roman I haven't seen any names mentioned to possibly fill the void left by Jedd Fisch...
I've spent a great deal of time investigating and speculating as to who might make sense (not because I think I have great insight, but simply because I have nothing better to do). This is the list I've put together:
Cam Cameron - While you might have initially said "blah," he does have experience coaching WR's, experience at Michigan, a strong connection to the Harbaugh Family having coached with John and Jay in Baltimore. He would in many ways be kinda like the Greg Mattison of Offense: not likely to leave until he retires.
Jacob Peeler - He's currently Cal's "Inside Receivers Coach" and is considered one of the best recruiters in the country. Has developed a good amount of talent and is only 32 years old. He's been with Sonny Dykes for the past seven years so he's had his hands full coaching receivers in a pass heavy offense. He's a wild card as he doesn't have any direct connections to Harbaugh, but as we saw last year with Don Brown, that isn't necessarily a deterent.
John Morton - WR's coach for the New Orleans Saints. He served as Harbaugh's WR coach for his entire tenure with the 49ers and one year at San Diego. He's from Auburn Hills and also served as a long time assistant to Pete Carroll at USC so has plenty of experience in the recruiting game.
T.J. Weist - Worked for Harbaugh in an advisory role in year one at Michigan before joining Willie Taggart's staff at South Florida as Passing Game Coordinator/WR coach. Unsure if he'll be kept on at USF by Charlie Strong or go to Eugene with Taggart.
Please add on if there are any realistic names you think could be in play like Oakland.
No Chip Kelly's or Art Briles'.
EDIT to add a couple more names:
Jeff Faris - He's the WR coach at Duke and has been for the past two years despite being only 27-years-old (same age as JayBaugh). He coached Dylan McCaffrey's older brother Max to a record breaking season in 2015 so that could be an interesting connection to the program assuming the McCaffrey clan has nice things to say about him. He also coached Jamison Crowder in 2014 to a historic seasos.
Derron Montgomery - Worked with the Wide Receivers last year before leaving to become OC at New Mexico Highlands University. By all accounts he had a lot to do with the development of our receiving core last season.

Or maybe we should just get someone who is Pacific Islander again and let them recruit their pants off

Ken Dorsey is my pick. Currently, QB coach for the panthers. Worked with Harbaugh and co. at the Aerial Assault camps. Prior to that, worked at IMG academy so would be a great get from a recruiting perspective as well.

Wonder if Tim Rattay, Quincy Carter, or Stony Case got into coaching. Not interested in Craig Krenzel, fuck that guy.
Edit: Researched this on the wikis...;Rattay is QB coach at Louisiana Tech, Stoney Case whereabouts unknown, and Quincy Carter's domestic violence mugshot was the first image to come up...yikes...replace him with Jake the Snake Plummer.

I would have thought Jake the Snake would be your first choice.

We lost our DC, Harbaugh went out and found the DC who ran the #1 D in the nation in Don Brown.
In 2016, Texas Tech has the #1 Passing offense, and their outside receivers coach is Emmett Jones, so maybe he'll get a call.

Wasn't there a lot of speculation he was coming from the NFL with Harbaugh? That seemed to fall through and then we got Fisch. Maybe he just doesn't want to back to CFB.

would be my vote. Had a big part in the development of Andrew Luck (as did Harbaugh obviously). Experience as an OC, WR Coach, and QB Coach in both college and NFL. I'm not going to judge him for anything to do with the Browns.
On another note, has anyone tried googling Best Passing Offense in NCAA and seeing if anyone makes sense from that? Kinda joking but kinda not. That is how he found Brown.

As I posted earlier, Emmett Jones is the outside receivers coach.

Morris is my outside the box hire. 2nd best offense last year, 1st this year. He's young, from Texas. Played WR, could probably work with Drevno. He could learn from Harbaugh if he wants to be a more complete coach. I think that it's a better fit than you'd think.
He brought in Brown and he was an outsider. That's worked out.

I'd love for that to be the story for how Harbaugh found Brown.
January 4th, 2017 at 5:37 PM ^
but I am pretty certain I read that Harbaugh googled best Defense in NCAA and saw the BC stats. I'm sure he did much more due dilligence than that but I believe that is initially how he got the idea of Don Brown.

He'd be an amazing recruiter. Having a respected former president swing by to recruit your son to play wide receiver at Michigan...Rivals #1 recruiter in his first year easy.

Brilliant and i would go for it.
This might even work out, except the Secret Service presence might be a problem, and Obama plans to live in DC the next year or two. But why not offer him $ 1M to teach at UM and make him an honorary coach?

I heard Jim figured out how to clone himself and he will serve as the position. There is hope that by 2018 all assistants will be Harbaugh clones.
