I am 1 LT away (I think we will get a RT from either JBB if he is not LT or Runyan) from feeling excited about our team next year even though we have 5 very tough games next year in which we may be the underdogs.

04/29/2018 - 1:27am I still need to see our LT

I still need to see our LT before I’m aboard the hype train.

04/19/2018 - 8:36pm The were some more changes to

The were some more changes to the composite rankings today, most notably Iggy moving up to #36 overall on composite...making our composite team rankings #8 overall.

04/17/2018 - 7:07am I think I read that ESPN now

I think I read that ESPN now is deemphasizing their recruititing a good bit so they may be losing some of their quality, particularly amongst those who ride/fall and don’t get re-ranked.

04/13/2018 - 4:57pm I have us at 5 losses, but

I have us at 5 losses, but Nebraska (with frost) and northwestern will be tough games too. Too much uncertainty on the offensive line to have more confidence.

04/10/2018 - 6:34pm I think the “difficulty of an

I think the “difficulty of an offense” excuse was moreso a crutch for poor play- unfortunately.

04/10/2018 - 5:20pm Per Open Look Analytics,

Per Open Look Analytics, amongst available D1 transfers who played at least 25% of teams minutes, he ranks 24th in Offensive Rating.

04/10/2018 - 4:49pm Ah yes that’s the good stuff.

Ah yes that’s the good stuff.

04/10/2018 - 2:31pm He plays in 7A, which is I

He plays in 7A, which is I think 2nd highest class.

04/10/2018 - 1:32pm 247 still has Castleton as a

247 still has Castleton as a Top 100 recruit. Nunez I feel like is the most overlooked recruit, largely due to his recruiting profile. To be honest, I don't know much about nunez other than he is a shooter.

04/10/2018 - 1:29pm The block was clean. JT was

The block was clean. JT was short. Shea should have been eligible. ... is a t-shirt I don’t hope to see next year but if my Michigan fandom has taught me anything over the last 10 years...it is if you can be song punched, you will be.

04/10/2018 - 1:00pm I would imagine the delay is

I would imagine the delay is due to selection of an agent, but in the event he is to return I would imagine he has been told to hold off on announcing given we would be over the limit, and everyone would be clammoring for who the transfer would be etc.

04/10/2018 - 12:54pm Not positive how it will

Not positive how it will translate, but he has some good defensive credentials with block rates in the top 3 for his NIke EYBL season.

04/10/2018 - 12:37pm As I mentioned over in the

As I mentioned over in the Iggy thread, I defintely think Castleton's offensive game is very underrated. I heard he picked up basketball relatively recently and so I think his upside is even greater than your average recruit as well.

04/10/2018 - 12:06pm While we are on the topic of

While we are on the topic of Michigan basketball recruits, Colin Castleton is underrated for reasons unclear to me. Far more skilled than I think he is made out to be offensively along with great shot blocking.

that is great. Love how he was trying to hold back his smile/laughter when the question was being asked.

Hopefully Lavall sends us his Nova scouting reports on short turnaround, given Butler is one of the teams that knocked them off this year.

04/01/2018 - 11:02am that will do.

that will do.

03/29/2018 - 4:13pm Out schedule is beastly

Out schedule is beastly enough as it is...don't mind this.

03/29/2018 - 4:09pm Also, Bazley’s rights won’t

Also, Bazley’s rights won’t belong to any team until he’s draft-eligible. There really isn't an incentive for a G-league affiliate to play and develop him and then see him get drafted to someone else.

03/29/2018 - 3:57pm I hope this signals the end

I hope this signals the end of one and done. While that may take away some of the best talent in the NCAA, I think it is overall for the best.

03/29/2018 - 3:04pm Here is how I see the

Here is how I see the matchups going. I realize that individual matchups aren't everything here but I just don't see how their perimeter offense is going to be consistently functional with our 3 main defenders on the perimeter.

Custer - Simpson
Richardson - MAAR
Townes - Matthews
Ingram - Livers/Duncan
Krutwig/Jackson - Wagner/Teske

Let's Go Blue!!!!

03/29/2018 - 2:48pm Ahh yes the good stuff. Is it

Ahh yes the good stuff. Is it saturday yet??

03/29/2018 - 2:47pm Probably a testament to

Probably a testament to villanova to how kansas is the preffered matchup. In an ordinary year, kansas, who won the Big 12 regular season/conference titles, is a #1 seed, just beat a talented duke team, etc. is one that would be the more feared matchup.

03/29/2018 - 2:07pm Maybe he wants to beat

Maybe he wants to beat Michigan for once, get to the sweet 16, or enjoy his newfound playing time after graduation of Ben Carter. Ok I’m done here...I enjoyed that.

in before delete.

03/29/2018 - 1:25pm I expect JJJ to stay for

I expect JJJ to stay for another year, but I take solace in the fact that I know he will be poorly utilized next year despite being a top 5 talent.

03/28/2018 - 7:55pm Watching from chicago, in

Watching from chicago, in enemy territory (if you want to call it that!)...

03/28/2018 - 6:51pm It would be nice if there

It would be nice if there would be a known timeline for this decision, but that would make too much sense.

03/28/2018 - 1:02pm Huh? I just meant that it's

Huh? I just meant that it's not like he doesn't have people in his circle that are familiar with the process, have connections regarding draft forecasts, and who understand life as a professional athlete. Not sure if I ever suggested he wanted to "sponge off his parents".

03/28/2018 - 10:49am I'm surprised he didn't come

I'm surprised he didn't come back to try and have more S16 points than CJ Baird.

03/28/2018 - 10:48am I would not be surprised at

I would not be surprised at all if Jackson returns. A lot of MSU folks are suggesting that its 50/50. Jackson's dad was an NBA player and his mom his head legal counsel for the WNBA, so their deicision making is likely different that your average family - particularly given their nba-related resources.

As an aside, they might be worried about his minutes (maybe too many?) next year given Ben Carter is graduated, so Jaren may get more than 15 minutes in the most important game of the season.

03/26/2018 - 8:44am I imagine krutwg just wont

I imagine krutwg just wont play that much and they will play small ball like they did for large parts of the KSU game.

03/25/2018 - 10:35am He is 7-1 against Loyola too,

He is 7-1 against Loyola too, so that’s a positive as well.

03/23/2018 - 2:46pm Most of the team already

Most of the team already started their respective celebrations before the shot went in. I think they were just loving the fact that he pulled up at the top of key and took that shot. Amazing.

03/21/2018 - 12:48pm The biggest thing that

The biggest thing that changed from the big ten tourney to the NCAA tourney in my opinion is MAAR.

His offensive ratings tell the story. Hopefully, whatever was going on is better now...

B10 Tourney
127.5
146.1
130.7
141.4

NCAA
69.5
80.7

I did mention him by name in the post.

03/19/2018 - 11:01am Per twitter... not too

Per twitter... not too shabby.

Times in the since 2013: 4 - Michigan, Duke, Arizona, Kansas, Wisconsin, Kentucky and Gonzaga. No team has more in that span.

03/19/2018 - 10:02am UNC is not an elite defensive

UNC is not an elite defensive team, but their Ken Pom D profile is basically purdue, and I don't really think that Purdue is a bad defensive team.

03/18/2018 - 7:38pm Maybe wrong word choice

Maybe wrong word choice there. Appropriately seeded based on their resume, but moreso meant that were they to have there full complement of players all year, they likely wouldn’t have lost that many and would have been seeded higher. Essentially, don’t feel their current seed is reflective of their present talent level. I think they were a top 10 team earlier this year.

03/18/2018 - 7:29pm A&M hasn’t had many games

A&M hasn’t had many games with their full set of players available, which is why I think they ended up underseeded.

03/18/2018 - 6:12pm Not that it matters in

Not that it matters in general as Sweet 16 teams are going to be good, but A&M is going to be a crappy matchup if this result holds. They start 3 guys over 6 9 and seem to be a really complete team. Admittedly, this is the first I have seen them all year but this is quite impressive in what is basically a road game.

03/13/2018 - 6:11pm I wonder if they kept this in

I wonder if they kept this in the dark just long enough to stay overall #1. Not sure how to change my bracket now...

03/04/2018 - 9:01pm Love the stat, but what is

Love the stat, but what is the significance of that date?

03/02/2018 - 1:19pm Happ lucky he didn't pick up

Happ lucky he didn't pick up his 3rd there...

03/02/2018 - 1:07pm Unfortunate, since happ went

Unfortunate, since happ went out MSU went on 16-8 run in the last 8 minutes of the half. I forsee MSu coming out on fire with like a 20-4 run to start the 2nd half. Wisconsin had their shot int he first half but the refs f'ed them over.

01/15/2018 - 8:20pm Really like how this team is

Really like how this team is coming together. Teske is really emerging into the ideal complement big man to Mo. Also, Poole needs some more minutes, not exactly sure where they will come from, but he needs 15 a game.

01/11/2018 - 10:32pm Can’t see him picking us over

Can’t see him picking us over the rest of the schools he is looking at in the south. He is from Austin, Texas.

http://www.cm-life.com/article/2017/12/football-cmu-sherrone-moore-35-u…

Interesting to see Jay Harbaugh on there too. Kind of an interesting list, with not a lot of big name school coaches on there.

01/09/2018 - 9:21pm MSU has an easier schedule

MSU has an easier schedule than us with 2 less difficult games and having relatively more of their tough games at home versus us. It wouldn't be hard for them to end up with a better record than us.

Our tough games:

@ND
Nebraska (with Frost should be much improved)
@NW
Wisconsin
@MSU
Penn State
@OSU

Their tough games:
NW
@PSU
Mich
OSU
@Nebraska
