〽️ WR/DB Amorion Walker ran a 6.10-second three-cone in practice.  Would be the fastest time in NFL Draft Combine History 👀

Kinda surprised this video from Will Johnson's IG wasn't posted anywhere. Sticking it up here for those of us who like the moving pictures!

Caris Levert...football version. I keep saying it.

A baby deer as a freshman, can barely walk and chew gum at the same time. I still love watching Caris as a freshman, poor kid. He just couldn't slow down, he'd get a steal and brick the layup off the backboard all the way to the free throw line. Walker was the same way...he was all over the place.

Shows flashes as a sophomore.

Fills out the frame and moves into a leading role some time as a junior

By his senior year, he's a first round draft pick and he looks unstoppable. And JACKED.

Back in my day we had a few guys with unbelievable times in drills. All hand timed. None were even close to replicated in any non-practice environment.

I remember one 60 yard dash where the guy on the left won but the guy on the right had the faster time. Our coaches were doing all manner of mental gymnastics to justify it.

Im excited about Walker and I hope he’s a superstar but this drill means nothing.

About to show up on Bruce Feldman's Freaks List

I usually take these hand timed numbers with a grain of salt, but historically they've held up pretty well once the combine comes around

That's great and all but let's see him put up 6+ 100 yd+ at least 1 TD games next season. I'll be more impressed with that.  IOW, I want to see him as the first game changing WR, something we haven't seen much of at Michigan in a while, than what he does around cones.

Yeah the combine is laser timed, this (based on the video I posted up top) was handtimed.

That said, the thing that's interesting about your link and the fastest cone times is that the list is largely DBs. Walker came in as a WR, but if off season rumors are true and he's now splitting time at CB, this could be an interesting development for a player who has pro-level "corner hips."
