McDaniels looks really good, but "McDaniels would be my #1 propsect in the country" doesn't jive with "The kid has the look of a potential lottery pick in a few years." #1 prospect in the country in my mind is a sure-fire one and done top 10 pick.

I've always been curious -what unites alumni at a school like U of Chicago 10+ years down the road? Seems like sports is the major factor at Michigan to bring people together. What happens with alums of schools that don't have that?

I think it's the magnitude of error that's troubling. Nussmeier's offenses at Alabama were ranked 7 and 9 according to S&P (and won a national title in year 1). OSU still went 12-1 in 2015.

What's behind Loyola's success this year? I don't think it's a Porter Moser thing. He's been a head coach for 14 years and this was the first time he was any better than 5th in his conference. They even lost their best player from last year and vastly improved as a team.

Meh they played the chalk seeds (16, 8, 4, 2) until the final four when they got to play 8 seed Wisconsin and 5 seed Florida. The chaos might have helped them win the title but they got to the Final Four in the toughest path they could've faced.

Yea as noted we've moneyballed defense by preventing offensive rebounds, 3 pointers, and transition. We still have some weaknesses one on one and no shotblocking when Wagner is on the floor. A team like UNC may be able to take advantage. Maye went off last time we played. I'd expect us to defend Berry better with Simpson instead of Brooks, but they were also missing starter Cam Johnson.

Hidden in Purdue's numbers is the fact that their defense has faltered as of late. Adjusted defensive efficiency of 101.6 since Feb 1. That's worse than every other top 4 seed other than Wichita State In the same timeframe. I don't see them faring well in the tourney.

Could Taron Vincent be our top target? #1 DT and #9 overall player in the class. He plays at IMG but moved from Gilman in Maryland where he was coached by our very own Biff Poggi. Of course, the crystal ball reads 100% buckeyes so we'll have our work cut it for us.

Jim Harbaugh is the best dynamic offensive weapon in the country.

Semi-serious. With a veteran offense that can execute the game plan that's put in front of them, our play calling is our best weapon.

10/03/2016 - 7:45am @Iowa is a trap game imo.

@Iowa is a trap game imo. It's easy to take them lightly given their performance this year but playing at Kinnick at night won't be easy. I'm not concerned about games at home as much, but to those who are saying trap games don't exist with Harbaugh, perhaps you should rewatch the Indiana and Minnesota games from last year.

Loved Michigan's foot on the gas mentality throughout the game yesterday. We will need to play 60 full minutes for the first time next week so that ability will come in handy.

09/17/2016 - 7:41pm We won in spite of Speight

We won in spite of Speight today. He looked amazing throwing deep last week, and just as poor this week vs a legit secondary. He did seem to handle through pressure better though which was good to see. But our oline needs to get better at picking up blitzes. Too many free rushers today.

I don't like how much we rotate backs...it's hard for anyone to get in a rhythm. Isaac played well and even showed some shake. I think we can let the veterans take over Evans's snaps. He hasn't shown much since the Hawaii game.

Overall, our skill guys made enough plays to hold on. Good showing from Butt in particular.

Don Brown is "maybe the best DC in college football?" How many people had even heard of him a year ago? He had an impressive year at BC, but let's pump the brakes til he can prove it at a championship level.

03/18/2016 - 3:56pm Definitely rooting for Hawaii

Definitely rooting for Hawaii in this one. Didn't see it mentioned here, but Sai Tummala (former Michigan preferred walk-on) is getting minutes for Hawaii. He transferred from Michigan to JuCo, then finished his degree at Arizona St. and grad transferred to Hawaii for this season.

03/13/2016 - 2:33pm The last two years, they've

The last two years, they've made games broadcast on CBS free to stream online, while games on cable (TBS, TNT, TRU) are free for a limited time (they use a ~90 minute counter, and your stream stops after that). However, you can easily get around their streaming limits by using incognito mode or deleting cookies.

02/16/2016 - 4:04pm The difference is that

The difference is that Indiana and MSU can match our guards. Maryland got absolutely dreadful play from Melo and Sulaimon, and Purdue's guards just aren't that great in general. Michigan's guard play will give them a chance most nights, but when we run up against talented and balanced teams, it's gonna be tough sledding.

Wisconsin is losing Aranda, so I'm not as concerned about them.

If you look at the BCS era, teams that won a national championship have a coach in his first four years, dominant DL, top notch recruiting, elite secondaries, and can score on defense and special teams.

http://grantland.com/the-triangle/2015-college-football-preview-reverse…

2016 Michigan fits the bill. This is setting up as our best chance since 2006 to win a title and I have full faith in Harbaugh and the boys to put in their best effort to make it happen.

12/17/2015 - 9:59am The momentum has been all

The momentum has been all Michigan for Walker since he decommitted from OSU, but supposedly FSU has made a late push. It's encouraging that all the insiders have stuck with their Michigan predictions, but I don't think this one is over. Also telling is that Sam Webb won't gut feeling this one, while he did for Bush. I still think we land Walker, but it's no slam dunk.
