It would be interesting to see a comparison of team chaos and actual cancer.

06/20/2018 - 8:35am I kind of agree-- at least…

I kind of agree-- at least from this perspective: it feels like we lost a lot of top-tier college QBs this past year in the draft. Even excluding the five first-round picks, we lost Mason Rudolph, JT Barret, Luke Falk, and even smaller school guys like Logan Woodside and Kyle Lauletta. That's 10 of the top 20 quarterbacks from the past three years.

So yeah-- if you were to add in those 10 qbs back into this list, we'd rank like 14th-- which feels about right.

I want Michigan to win, but if Florida pulls this off-- they deserve it. I honestly thought they were going to be eliminated.

06/15/2018 - 10:44am I say we give him an all…

I say we give him an all-expenses-paid vacation to Moscow and pack his bags with "Free Georgia"  apparel.

06/13/2018 - 8:22am The look he gets when…

The look he gets when looking at nothing in particular is the same look I get when presented with a whole bag of Trader Joes BBQ Popped Potato Chips.

Bill Yearby looks how every football player should look.

Also: can we clone Bennie Friedman, please? I sorta feel cheated that I've never been able to see him play.

06/11/2018 - 4:27pm I am reading a biography of…

I am reading a biography of Patrick Henry by Jon Kukula that is pretty good so far.

If you want to be super depressed, Secondhand Time by Svetlana Alexievich is really good (though it is super long). It's a collection of first hand accounts of life in the USSR (Both before and After its collapse) and the loss of national identity that the older generation still feels even while they remember the horrors of communist rule.

This came at a perfect time for me, as I have been on a major non-fiction kick and need some good old fiction to cleanse my pallet.

06/07/2018 - 9:14am Best part about this is that…

Best part about this is that he only has enough energy to look surprised. He's basically looking around asking, "DID I REALLY DO THAT OR DID I PASS OUT SERIOUSLY I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS REAL RIGHT NOW."

06/07/2018 - 9:08am The Angels drafted Torii…

The Angels drafted Torii Hunter Jr.  in the 23rd couple years back, when he was playing *football* for Notre Dame.  He surprised a lot of people by switching to Baseball full time, and surprised everyone even more by being a pretty darn good prospect, especially considering he only played like 20 baseball games for the Irish in four years.

06/06/2018 - 4:46pm I actually think he'd be a…

I actually think he'd be a good NBA coach, and I'd love to see him work with my favorite player on my favorite team (Nikola Jokic)

But if the NBA comes for him again, they are dead to me.

06/01/2018 - 10:00pm His Range is for sure near the top

But my issue with him and Queen is that their music is pretty but it has no soul. I am impressed and even awed by his range, but I cant imagine wanting to hear Freddie Murcury sing- not even "The Show Must Go On"- after the death of a loved one or after a break up.

06/01/2018 - 9:54pm First Names that come to mind

Are James Maynard Keenan, Johnny Cash, and Robert Plant.

06/01/2018 - 2:33pm I used to roll my eyes at Fish

until I realized that he's basically doing work for me-- reading the message boards, making some limited contact with players and people in the know-- and I began to peruse his site more often.

Reminds me of when I would prepare local news summaries when I worked as an intern for a US Representative.

Also: I really, really love this offensive line class. While I'd probably trade a guard for a tackle, I just really like the traits we are going after-- size, nastiness, technique, and intelligence. If we could get someone who was a bit more athletic that would be nice.

05/31/2018 - 1:40pm Gotta Start Smaller

And I would go cheaper. Those footballs that feel like a basketball are easier to hold and can allow your kid to develop better mechanics when throwing the ball.

(This is comming from someone who taught himself how to throw a spiral in 3rd grade. Make sure you teach him to bring his elbow above the shoulder and to "flick" the football like a booger; once I mastered those, I actually started getting picked on the playground.)

05/30/2018 - 3:39pm Karma me, people

My user name is u/SenatorHedonismBot

05/23/2018 - 2:14pm I am glad to see the Dr. Pepper guy go away

but I have never, ever, ever understood the appeal of Putbull.

05/21/2018 - 3:45pm Why would someone mulch their yard?

I guess if you somehow had a sever grass allergy? Why wouldn't you use rubber mulch at that point? Or even just use artificial turf, which looks much much better than it used to?

Maybe I spent too much time being melted into a skid loaded by an enourmous pile of mulch, but the appeal of having to spread it all over my yard just does not appeal to me.

05/21/2018 - 8:58am Y'all be concentrating on Les's dye job

But Alphonso: you gotta make sure your jeans go over your shoes. Makes you look like a kid playing dressup when half a pant leg is tucked into your footwear.

05/10/2018 - 1:28pm This would have been the only defense

05/09/2018 - 8:12am Ohhh... what a bragger.

Admit it: this post was just a #humblebrag so you could tell us that you have your own *personal* radio.

05/08/2018 - 3:26pm Hmmm

You should have offered to trade O'Korn for him. If a white dude named "John O'Korn" seems like he would have been "pure" enough for him.

Also, Haskins scares me. I thought the offense looked better with him in there.

05/08/2018 - 11:32am This is the money tweet I saw last night.

I thought this was pretty much spot on.

05/04/2018 - 8:45am So everyone pretty much agrees

that there are only two and 1/2 good Star Wars Movies, right? Like, the original was good, Empire was great, and Rogue One was ok. The rest have ranged from "Meh" (TLJ) to bad (RotJ) to just awful (pretty much the rest).

05/03/2018 - 1:25pm I was expecting something more like this:

05/02/2018 - 10:19am I dunno, man

Bush looks like the prototypical Tampa-2 Linebacker. With the Colts, Tampa, and Dallas still running this scheme, one of them will probably take a 2nd round shot at him.

04/26/2018 - 4:01pm For some

those second two the the very definition of great.

04/26/2018 - 8:12am Soviets? Pish Tosh

I spent many a night cursing the Romanovs.

04/25/2018 - 4:40pm As a Colts fan

I am just hoping we trade back and end up with Mo Hurst, a LB, and a couple of offensive linemen. Anything else (like a WR, RB, DB, DE, SS.... damn, we suck) would be gravy.

04/25/2018 - 4:15pm Hawt Take

Khaleke Hudson will finish his career a better player than Jabril.

I almost believe this.

04/25/2018 - 12:51pm I wonder

if they even find 20 per cent of it.

04/25/2018 - 11:09am Also a TON of

Mary Jane grown in them thar hills, if you are willing to spend weeks searching for it and want to risk getting shot by a crazy mountain person.

04/25/2018 - 10:49am I'm a fan of

the Thaddeus Kosciuszko memorial-- mainly because it's a cool sight about an unheralded Revolutionary War Engineering hero. It's also the smallest National Park site.

04/24/2018 - 1:33pm Man, It's hard not to see M as the conference favorite.

I guess Mathtews is very important, but geesh-- every other top team isn't just loosing important pieces-- they are loosing multiple stars. I know, I know, Moe is a huge deal too, but his replacement is already a known quantity (Teske) and that' more than ANY of these teams can say.

04/20/2018 - 1:51pm TIL

There was a LaCrosse draft. Also a pro LaCrosse League.

04/20/2018 - 8:06am Maybe he's never had tequila?

Or he has and just doesn't remember?

04/18/2018 - 1:15pm That's a real name?

That name is in the same class as "Joey Jo Jo Junior Shabadoo" in the "Names that sound completely made up" category.

04/18/2018 - 1:00pm Colin Castelton

Is my guy in this class. He looks like John Leuer and Peja Stojakovic had a baby and that baby then had another baby with John Henson. I am not sure what that says about his NBA potential, but that sounds like a killer NCAA player.

04/17/2018 - 12:09pm They should just make it a choice.

You can either:

A) choose to return kicks but fair catches/kicks out of the end zone put you on the 15 yard line

B) You can recieve the ball at the 25 with no kick.

This way, unless you have a truly dynamic threat or are trying to make a comeback, most of the time you just take the ball.

Edit: Whoops, had a brain fart there. Should have said 20 yard line for the first and 35 yard line for the second.

04/13/2018 - 12:55pm Holy Crap

This guy is the exact opposite of Winston Wolf. If Engler were in Pulp Fiction, he would have told Vincent and Jules to smear Marvin's blood all over their faces, murder Jimmie and Bonnie, then dispose of the bodies on the steps of the local police station.

04/11/2018 - 8:02am I'd be amazed.

What kind of space-age material was that suitcase made from?

04/10/2018 - 8:32pm Hmm

Anyone else see a less athletic Peja Stojakovic? The rotation on his ball is rediculous.

04/09/2018 - 8:16am I actually get it.

First off, while the Globe may or may not suffer from these issues, accessing a Newpaper site is often fraught with over-crowded graphics, idiotically restricted access, and the obfuscation of box scores. Actually holding a newspaper isn't just a relic of the past, but it is a far superior way of consuming information.

I would subscribe to multiple newpapers if they didn't largely suck nards (they are useless for basic news unless you literally have no way to access the news, and even the NYT is only ever about 25% good writing).  However, when I am at home in Bowling Green, I devour the Sentinel-Tribune, because their sports section is just about perfect.

04/06/2018 - 2:06pm /takes a drink of the koolaid

I am thinking it means that Harbaugh et al wants the competeition to remain high, and is trying to make sure that the QB compeition stays intense. Endless hype about one guy may not actually impact the players much, but he probably wants the players to believe that the depth chart changes day-to-day (with this being the offseason, afterall)  based on performance.

04/06/2018 - 2:01pm My kingdom for a tackle

If the interior OL, WR, and TE take a step forward, I am actually not as worried as I probably should be about the QB. If we have Shea and we can get even average tackle play, then the ceiling on our season gets that much higher.

04/06/2018 - 9:45am Damn

Not only were they willing to take a massive hit, they also left a bunch of stuff (Pool and poker tables, pool furniture) that the family had mentioned they liked. That's next level.

04/06/2018 - 8:23am Technically

If you destroy all the records, then there is nothing to see.

04/06/2018 - 8:22am Burn it to the ground

Not to copy too much from the story, but:

“Nassar seems to have spent decades developing his ability to abuse patients without detection by identifying and exploiting loopholes in the policies that governed his professional conduct and patient relationships,” wrote lawmakers, describing their review of MSU documents and question responses. Medical records were never kept for many of Nassar’s “treatments,” they found. MSU did not have an adequate informed consent policy in place for much of the time he worked there, which Nassar “methodically exploited,” lawmakers said, and university policies did not require a chaperone to be in the room “during sensitive examinations of minors.” In some cases, MSU “had destroyed” patients’ medical records by the time they reported Nassar to university police, lawmakers said. While the destruction did not violate state law or university policy, “such records may have proven useful to at least one of the survivors seeking justice against Nassar.”

I am no lawyer, but there has to be some way for this to become federal, right?

04/06/2018 - 8:21am Just imagine

When he gets another offseason to improve the penalty kill. That and Jack Hughes might just make this team a scary-ass juggernaut.

PS: Screw DirecTVNow for crashing last night. I watched the first period, then I was forced to follow rest of the game on twitter and statcast-- which is just cruel.

04/05/2018 - 1:45pm Major props

mainly because the Carr years are a distant memory, but theRichRod and Hoke years happpened in his formative years- and yet, he is still a Wolverine.  That's some loyalty right there.

EDIT 1: Holy crap, he made every tackle in a football game? Even in Middle school, that's impressive.

Edit 2: So he's somewhere between Matt Godin and Brennan Beyer? I'll take that.
