27-1, Michigan.

09/20/2018 - 4:08pm I used to feel this way…

I used to feel this way until I realized that most small stores (especially those in small towns) suck super duper hard.

I am a fan of local restaurants and local businesses that make stuff, and will support them in anyway I can.  And when a local dude sells a niche product, that is the first place I will go if I want to dabble in cycling or decide, after 30 years on this earth, that a Dulcimer is something I need to master for some reason.

Bu local, non-specialized retail stores suck. Give me a chain (whether small or huge) over some dinky store with high prices and a small inventory any day of the week.

09/20/2018 - 2:14pm I'd trade Princeton for…

I'd trade Princeton for Rutgers in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, the Ivy League is already dragging Cornell along, so they are stocked up on Jabronis with a future in the food service industry.

The real secret is this: The Return of the Jedi is also a garbage movie.

09/19/2018 - 2:42pm I dunno. It takes some…

I dunno. It takes some gumption to give an ultimatum to the Pope.

09/19/2018 - 1:24pm I think he died.

I think he died.

Didn't 'Bama win a championship in 1992?

So what I'm hearing is that Don Brown will now be armed with a Patriot Missile.

WolverinesWire is already pretty good, but the stuff with Gardner is legit. He really should have a full platform to show off his knowledge.

09/19/2018 - 12:05pm Just install the Disable…

Just install the Disable HTML 5 Auto Play extension in Firefox or Chrome. It's easily the best browser extension there is.

09/13/2018 - 8:13am Yeah, the "Mendoza" line…

Yeah, the "Mendoza" line really refers to production that's minimally acceptable. We need a term for being supremely average. I nominate.... the "Gardner Line" (for Brett Gardner)?

09/13/2018 - 8:00am If he pulls this out at some…

If he pulls this out at some point this year, remind me to up vote you every post you make rest of the year.

09/12/2018 - 3:51pm I get what you are saying,…

I get what you are saying, but I'd rather keep Shea healthy over everything else. Considering we'd probably want to keep our passing game fairly vanilla anyway, I'd just as soon keep the same game plan until we need to change it.

09/12/2018 - 3:47pm True. Especially if they…

True. Especially if they want to save him for later. If JR Jr is out for just a week, wouldn't They want Mayfield to have the option to start w/out burning a redshirt?

09/12/2018 - 2:59pm Wow... that's actually about…

Wow... that's actually about as close to an admission that you want a younger guy to play over a veteran as you can get. I am surprised he's so open. I wonder if either will get any time with the ones.

09/11/2018 - 3:49pm Probably trying to hit the…

Probably trying to hit the ever-living crap out of the QB, since he is considered a runner and thus has less protection.

09/11/2018 - 3:48pm This is a dumb take. An…

This is a dumb take. An individual assessing risk and making calculated decisions (the effects of which they will benefit from--or not) describes a free market, not communism.

09/07/2018 - 4:41pm Wow.

Wow.

I was expecting Gallipoli and instead we got the Somme.

09/06/2018 - 12:22pm Show some respect for the…

Show some respect for the Texas State Bobcats! That fine institution has such notable alumni as LBJ, Powers Boothe, and Alexis Texas (whoever that is).

09/04/2018 - 4:35pm If he could somehow shove…

If he could somehow shove Jake Long's brain into James Hudson's body, that would be great.

09/04/2018 - 4:34pm I like it. It says the name…

I like it. It says the name of the site, and it's not as tall which saves me like half a scroll when I want to get to the good stuff. I'd call that a win.

08/30/2018 - 11:11am Arian Foster and a few…

Arian Foster and a few baseball players have tried something similar (allowing regular people to buy "stock" based on future earnings), and I think it failed miserably.

You'd have to be incredibly dumb to invest in any college player, since money, injuries, PEDs, suspensions, or any number of things can wipe out your earnings. Especially when they should just be paid anyway.

08/29/2018 - 11:39am I think the idea is that it…

I think the idea is that it would be better if the older player would win the job over a younger player. So we all hope Hudson or Filiaga would be better news because it would prevent a true freshman from playing; not because we think that Hudson or Filiaga would be the *best* possible outcome.

We all agree that an upper classman taking the reigns is the desired outcome, but Runyan and JBB haven't shown anything. This is why we are hoping that the younger talent would overcome the older mediocrity.

Basically, it's this

Young, talent who's figured it out > Mediocrity > Young, dumb talent > True Freshman

08/29/2018 - 11:21am Bad? And I am not sure how…

Bad? And I am not sure how that quote leads to any other conclusion; color me confused.

08/28/2018 - 12:41pm Dear recruiting gods: can…

Dear recruiting gods: can you please magic us up another legit left tackle prospect and two outside receivers? You still owe us from the "Never Forget" defensive backfield malarkey from from a few years back.

Signed,

Every Michigan fan.

08/28/2018 - 9:14am "Brown donuts" sounds like…

"Brown donuts" sounds like something you'd have to akwardly explain to your mom after she saw a meme on facebook.

08/22/2018 - 1:01pm I think the one fan base…

I think the one fan base that has a reputation for being dour is our own. One you account for preseason optimism and free will,  I think your standard Michigan fan is usually about 15-20% less optimistic than any other major fan base in the country.

08/22/2018 - 10:44am What's really shocking is…

What's really shocking is that (according to reports) they may even "tut-tut" Urban's response as well.

How will he make it through?

08/22/2018 - 10:08am Without checking, I am like…

Without checking, I am like 90 per cent sure that's already the state motto for Wiconsin and Minnesota.

08/20/2018 - 1:05pm Seriously; offensive line…

Seriously; offensive line play feels very week across the board. Maybe it's a Big 10 thing, but there seems to be a ton of teams with an Offensive line problem. Wiscy having like 8 quality starters or whatever feels like it's worth a top-ten ranking by itself.

Given that they have a good defense, good RBs, and Randy Rivers leading the way... #4 seems OK.

08/20/2018 - 12:59pm I think He and Gardner have…

I think He and Gardner have that same quality. Pretty sure if either one of them came into my office screaming "Let's do this!" and ran out, I'd probably follow them out without thinking.

08/20/2018 - 12:57pm Motion Passes, I think. Now…

Motion Passes, I think. Now we just have to tell the d-bags in charge.

08/20/2018 - 12:45pm Someone needs to give this…

Someone needs to give this the Lionel Hutz edit.

08/17/2018 - 3:40pm I've said it a hundred times…

I've said it a hundred times, but Milton reminds me of Harbaugh. I don't know if it's the single minded obsession with football, or it it's the way he scrambles just like Harbaugh did (see below). And if his upside is basically Harbaugh with John Elway's arm, and I'll take that QB all day everyday.

08/16/2018 - 9:14am What?

What?

08/15/2018 - 10:11am You laugh, but I'd love to…

You laugh, but I'd love to see the LB's face when Gary trots out, call "Hike," and launches his 280 lbs at 4.6 speed  in his direction. We may see a play crap himself on the field.

08/10/2018 - 1:19pm This goes all the way, man.

This goes all the way, man.

Urban = Urbanus = Urbs (city), which comes from the Proto-indo European "Werb" (to Enclose)

Meyer = Mayor = Major = PIE "méǵh₂yōs"= Great

Urban Meyer = "Great besieger"

As we all know, Gilgamesh is known for having defeated the Sumerian King Aga, who besieged the city of Uruk.

Therefore: Ben VanSumeren was sent to save us from Urban Meyer. Also: I need more to do at work today.

08/10/2018 - 1:08pm I can't believe this has…

I can't believe this has been missed by the board so far.

Ben = Benjamin = Binyamin = "Son of my Right Hand"

VanSumeren = "of Sumeren" = a corrupted translation of the phrase "From Sumeria"

I believe that only ONE conclusion can be drawn from this: Ben VanSumeren is the rightful heir to Gilgamesh.

08/10/2018 - 11:57am Avs fan here-- and yes, Mac…

Avs fan here-- and yes, Mac is indeed a stupid bargain. I look forward to having him and Jack Hughes bring us a couple of championships.

As for this:  I think Larkin is worth it? It's not a steal, but I think there's a relatively low-percentage chance that this deal looks bad in the last year. Good player, does everything right, seems like about his perfect value to me.

08/09/2018 - 8:03am Remember the jackass who…

Remember the jackass who dissed Harbaugh for turning Gentry into a TE? I wonder what he will say when Gentry is a top 100 pick in the draft.

08/08/2018 - 1:03pm Well, it's good to know that…

Well, it's good to know that everyone not named Wisconsin and OSU is looking at just as bleak of an OLine situation. Plus, we have some guys I like and Ed Warriner. If anyone can unlock average tackle play and really get the interior O-line to full BEAST mode, it's him. It's not Michigan 1999, but I'll take it.

08/08/2018 - 12:26pm Make it a liquid condiment…

Make it a liquid condiment. If you ask for no lettuce or extra pickles, chances are they will just add pickles or remove the lettuce. Or, just tell them you have an allergy, and that will fix it.

08/08/2018 - 12:23pm Reminds me of another tip:…

Reminds me of another tip: When you start a new job, buy some donuts and leave them by your desk. It's a great way to meet people and gives a great first impression.

08/08/2018 - 10:09am Is this anything new?…

Is this anything new? Kennedy was a serial cheater and sexual predator, Warren G Harding was a pervert with an RNC-backed payroll full of mistresses, and Lydon Johnson had a freaking "Wife Warning"  buzzer installed in the Oval office after his wife found him screwing one of his secretaries.

08/08/2018 - 9:49am My company has fired…

My company has fired multiple people in the past for domestic abuse (usually after multiple attempts to get them help), and we have a strict company policy about breaking up a marriage.

I understand what you are saying, but many companies actually do have policies about personal and professional conduct, though not all apply them very strictly.

08/08/2018 - 9:38am Certainly better than a…

Certainly better than a fluid, explosive #2.

08/08/2018 - 8:53am If there is a word you have…

If there is a word you have trouble spelling, just incorporate it into a password you use a lot (i.e. a work computer login) and you will have that word down pat. For instance, this is how I learned to spell "bureau"  correctly after 20-ish years of spelling it wrong every damn time. And, since I have three different passwords that reset every 45 days, I have eliminated many words from my "damn it why can't I spell that" list.

I may adapt this system to memorize important dates and maybe even the names of cousins, spouses, and coworkers.

08/07/2018 - 4:53pm And by Rex Grossman, you…

And by Rex Grossman, you mean the OG RGIII?

08/06/2018 - 1:17pm I'm confused re: Ham…

I'm confused re: Ham Sandwhich, future Rutgers star.

  • I thought he was already starting at QB for Rutgers. Will he count against Basketball or Football for scholarships?
  • Is mayo considered an impermissible benefit?
  • Let's say Sandwich is guarding Poole, and Poole decides to take a bite for every three he makes. When Jordan then goes 15-15 on him , could he then be convicted for  HAMslaughter?
